Project Planning 2.0: Research

Posted on January 1, 2010 3:32 PM

A well-planned project is the essence of efficiency and cost effectiveness. I am assuming with this article that you have already done the first phase of planning a project, which is a laundry list of things that you want your project to contain. I will be using the example of setting up a personal website. In phase one, I determined that I wanted a blog, a photo gallery, and a contact form. Phase two... Continue Reading

Gaming Frenzy

Posted on December 1, 2005 2:08 AM

I've gone the majority of the year without a compelling computer game to buy. Of course, I purchased World of Warcraft in 2004, so that doesn't count. But things have taken a turn for the better this past month. Look at what is now in my PC gaming queue. Continue Reading

The Matrix - My Awakening

Posted on May 29, 2005 7:27 PM

Ever since I took part in my first MMORPG (massive multiplayer online gaming) I have thought it would be fun to blog my experiences, starting as a newbie and continuing for as long as I played the game. Today, I purchased The Matrix Online, the game that promises to continue the story of the Matrix in an ever-unfolding interactive storyline. As a fan of The Matrix mythology, I think this will make for an interesting... Continue Reading

Looking for a new adventure

Posted on June 25, 2004 2:00 AM

I have been wanting to find a new PC game to play, of the massive multiplayer style. I went through my Star Wars Galaxies addiction last year. I played City of Heroes for about 3 weeks recently, before getting bored. And I am having a difficult time finding something new that peaks my interest. I tried the Sim onlines for about 10 minutes when it came out last year. Yawn. I downloaded a free trial... Continue Reading

Ping Pong, Matrix Style

Posted on January 20, 2004 11:23 AM

I must be bored. Did a little random surfing this morning and found this gem. It is a 2-minute video of what appears to be a foreign talent show. The act is priceless. Check it out Continue Reading

#14 - Memento

Posted on November 27, 2003 6:25 PM

What is the nature of memory? How accurate is your memory? Is it possible that your memories didn't really happen as you remember them? These are just some of the questions you may ask yourself when you get past the initial "wow" factor after seeing Memento, one of the most original thrillers ever put on celluloid. Memento is the story of Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), a man who suffers from the inability to make new... Continue Reading

The Matrix Revolutions

Posted on November 14, 2003 3:07 PM

A little background... I LOVED The Matrix. I was confused by my first viewing of The Matrix Reloaded, though a a second viewing helped me assimilate the film a bit more. I still thought it was very weak next to the original. Yesterday, I placed the reviews of the critics behind me and decided to take in a viewing of Matrix Revolutions without preconceived notions. I was pleasantly surprised! --- WARNING - SPOILERS! --- Am... Continue Reading

Day 10: Vermont

Posted on October 14, 2003 10:40 PM

Woke up this morning and decided that Bennington, Vermont would be a very nice place to live. The colors of the leaves are absolutely beautiful. I know it won't last long, and before you know it, the cold weather will come and the snow will fall. I don't care. The town has so much charm, history and beauty. After a quick breakfast in the room, we followed the usual ritual of packing the car and... Continue Reading

The Matrix Reloaded - my thoughts

Posted on May 19, 2003 12:45 AM

Went to see The Matrix Reloaded this evening. Following are some brief thoughts on the film. WARNING! There are spoilers here, so you many not want to read if you haven't seen it! . . . . . . . . . . Naturally, The Matrix Reloaded faced many challenges, not the least of which was being the sequel to The Matrix. With that said, the film was a disappointment on several levels. 1) The... God, Dancing and the Matrix

Posted on May 17, 2003 11:30 PM

We've got a full day planned for Sunday. First, we'll head to church in the morning. Afterwards, we've got time for a very quick bite to eat and then its off to Jenna's ballet recital. She is doing jazz, tap and ballet this year, so she'll be in three of the routines. She's just too cute in her outfits! Finally, we're going to see The Matrix Reloaded with some friends in the evening. It should... Continue Reading

Enter the Matrix

Posted on May 15, 2003 10:54 PM

Sprung for a new computer game today, Enter the Matrix. Of course, it is based on The Matrix world and released to coincide with The Matrix Reloaded (which Mary and I intend to see Sunday evening). Cool - the Wachowski brothers wrote and directed the game, which is virtually unheard of in game production. Tons of additional footage was shot using principle actor JUST for the game. So it should add a lot to The... Continue Reading

Anger Management

Posted on May 10, 2003 10:30 PM

Went to Steak and Ale for dinner with the lovely and engaging MrsMayor. Our waitress was very annoying. Her style was phony and patronizing (in a bad way). Food was good though. The movie, on the other hand, not so much. I like stupid movies, but this one had few good laughs and a lot of tasteless humor. Of course, the teenagers behind us were yukking it up. I was totally disappointed with the ending... Continue Reading
