The Law of Attraction is Nonsense

Posted on October 7, 2010 3:27 AM

A few years ago I heard people in the Internet marketing circles talking about "The Secret." I was told it was an amazing film featuring successful people demonstrating a "law of the universe" that had been hidden from the majority of mere mortals. Starring in this film based on a book by Rhonda Byrne were such people as Joe Vitale, James Arthur Ray, Michael Beckwith, David Schirmer and Bill Harris, among otthers. I decided to... How to Treat Other People

Posted on September 27, 2010 5:08 AM

How do you feel about celebrities? Are you in awe when you meet someone that is well-known? Do you get nervous when speaking with them? Do you attribute value to people based on their status? How do you treat those that appear to have achieved the level of status, wealth, fame or power that you may aspire to? Continue Reading

Wordpress Theme for Affiliate Marketers Copycat

Posted on September 25, 2010 7:24 AM

Recently I was sent a link promoting a new Wordpress theme designed just for affiliate marketers and people wanting to build niche sites. Being the creator of the Socrates Theme, I had to take a look. Sure enough. Here come the copycats. I continue to be amazed at the utter lack of creativity in people who pass themselves off as "experts." Not only is the headline and a bunch of the copy on this new... Continue Reading

#24 - Microsoft Flight Simulator

Posted on August 22, 2010 12:11 AM

Who doesn't dream of the extraordinary feeling of taking to the air like a bird? While that sensation can only be simulated in this life, we are fortunate to live in a time where air travel is commonplace. But even though people CAN fly, I think it is safe to say that I will never pilot an aircraft. I am forever relegated to passenger status. However, one of the earliest computer games I ever played... 25 Computer Games That Rocked My World

Posted on July 2, 2010 11:10 AM

I've been a computer gamer since the dawn of the home computer. I bought a TRS-80 Model I computer in 1980. At 16-years old, I gathered my hard-earned cash (from working at the mall food court) and spent it all on what was the bleeding edge of home computing technology. This computer had 4K of smokin' hot RAM. The storage device was a radio shack cassette tape player. Oh, yeah. We're talking hot stuff. Anyhow... Continue Reading

Do You Get the Picture?

(Written by guest contributor Andrew Krzysiak) Photographs and illustrations are elements of nearly every design. They have the power to add emotion, interest, and impact to the content of any layout. Getting the right image that will communicate your message to the desired demographic can be a challenge. This article will help you get the picture. Continue Reading

Woo Your List with Lifecycle Marketing

Posted on January 12, 2010 10:12 AM

Sometimes email and direct marketing tactics can be somewhat akin to hitting your customer or prospect over the head with a hammer. Think of how you feel when you open your Inbox to find a slew of unwanted emails from companies that want your business: you probably feel slammed, bombarded, blasted, and yes, hammered. But though at times you are totally inundated and overwhelmed by all of these different communications and offers, there are... Continue Reading

A Twitter Oddity

Posted on May 1, 2009 8:45 PM

I have a hard time keeping up with my tweets. I just get so many each day. I have an ever harder time keeping up with Direct Messages on Twitter (DMs). I usually don't read them. However, I took a peak at my DMs tonight and I came across something highly unusual. Continue Reading

An American Carol: A Review

Posted on October 3, 2008 8:34 PM

I don't go to the movies much. I enjoy movies, I just don't enjoy the theater experience. Why pay top dollar to sit in a crowded cinema with chatty teens and people noisily crunching popcorn and nachos when I can buy or rent the DVD for less and enjoy the peacefulness and comfort of my home theatre. I choose to go to the Metrolux today in order to get a glimpse of An American Carol... Continue Reading

Are You Missing Your Blog's Growth Opportunities?

Posted on September 22, 2008 8:00 AM

I'm amazed that there are people out there -- somewhere -- who aren't making money from AdSense. It's not as though you need a doctorate in computer studies and a professorship in literature. You just need a website and an AdSense account. And ever since blogging came along, the website bit has been a breeze. It takes all of about five minutes to sign up on Blogger and it's a perfect match for AdSense. Continue Reading

Amtrak - The Return

Posted on August 11, 2008 11:23 AM

We had a great time in Glenwood Springs. From taking a Segway tour of the area and a day at the world's largest hot springs pool to downtime for rest & relaxation and a trip to a rain-covered Snowmass, my family and I enjoyed our brief vacation. I may put up some video once I get the chance. But I've had a lot of people curious about how the return train ride went on Amtrak... Continue Reading

Skyguy the Bag Handler

Posted on March 31, 2008 9:56 PM

There are those who start at the bottom of a company with the aspiration to rise to the top, and there are those for whom the words upwardly mobile do not apply. I encountered Mr. Latter attending to the United Skycap station in LAX today. My associates and I bring our bags to the guy and we go through the regular procedure. "What is your destination?", "Show me your identification" and "How many bags will... Continue Reading

Woman Stuck on Toilet for Two Years

Posted on March 14, 2008 12:59 AM

So I've got this great idea for a screenplay. The story goes like this... Due to severe beatings she had received as a child, a thirty-something year old woman develops a strange phobia and doesn't leave the bathroom for two years. I know, bizarre, yes? It gets more interesting. The woman spends the majority of her time on the toilet. Yes, on the toilet. In fact, she spends SO much time on the toilet that... Continue Reading
