I can't believe I have been doing business online since 1995. It seems like so long ago, and yet just yesterday. The first ten or so years were spent creating content-rich websites for the consumer marketplace. I built and sold several of these sites. It wasn't until 2005 that I entered the Internet marketing arena with my first ebook, "What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense." Over two dozen ebooks, several products... Are you aware there are more than 5.3 Billion smartphones and tablet devices being utilized worldwide? It's true. And many of the users are downloading new apps weekly, even.... DAILY. Why? Because it's fun for them, and so they'll be able to access "extra value" from their favorite companies, gurus and small businesses locally and abroad. In fact, this mass interest has begun a brand new "gold rush" for creating Mobile Apps. I should know... Continue Reading

"When you are through changing, you are through." - Bruce Barton Change is inevitable. Apart from death and taxes, change is the only thing in this life that we can count on. This past year has found me in the midst of much change. After a number of years as an author, speaker and entrepreneur, I have spent the last year quietly reassessing my life. Taking some time away from work, I've been tending to... Continue Reading

It has come to my attention that some of my digital materials are being illegally resold online. People are setting up websites containing my complete sales letter (mostly of AdSense Secrets) along with all graphics and videos, and selling them with a link to their paypal account. I have been sending DMCA Takedown notices to Internet service providers as I become aware of rogue sites they are hosting. However, they continue to pop up. This... Continue Reading

By now I'm sure you have heard about Google's new social network, Google Plus (or G+ for short).
Google Plus is currently the fastest growing social network with over 25 million members in the first month.
I've been using it for several weeks now and believe that it could be a very important tool for businesses who want to
reach their audiences. Continue Reading

In a recent blog post I had mentioned that I was both selling of some of my biggest internet properties and at the same time looking to acquire more sites. This led to a conversation with my VP of Ideas Dan Nickerson about all our mutual internet properties and the need to create a "simple" marketplace to introduce domain sellers and buyers. Sure there are a number of domain marketplaces online, but they can be... Continue Reading

I remember the first time I encountered an "easy button" at Staples. Push the big red button with the word "easy" printed on it and the family "That was easy" voice was played. I loved it and had to have one. A couple years ago I came up with an idea for another button which I thought would have great appeal to business people around the world. A green button with a dollar sign on... Continue Reading

As you know, I've been building websites since 1995. I've always been a big fan of creating content-rich sites that bring value to others. That's why I have always spoken against creating spammy sites designed to game the search engines. It's not a good model for building a long-term business. I've sold a number of my sites over the years. In 1998, Yahoo! purchased my multiplayer game site, ClassicGames.com. Today you know it as Yahoo... Continue Reading

Over the past couple years, information marketers have come under greater scrutiny by the United States Federal Trade Commission. The FTC has taken several companies and individuals to task for deceptive Internet marketing practices. As the largest seller of information products online, Clickbank.com is now issuing clearer guidelines for the types of products and/or marketing practices that will be more closely scrutinized going forward. In other words, they are going to be working harder to... Continue Reading

How many times have you shopped at a store or eaten at a restaurant and been invited to take a customer service survey. Usually these survey opportunities are presented by the clerk or waiter who points out a web site at the bottom of your receipt. I have never paid attention to these in the past and often find them to be a nuisance. Sure, Target claims to give away $5000 gift cards. But who... Continue Reading

When was the last time you read a press release? Let's face it. The majority of press releases issued by companies are totally boring and uninteresting. Why is that? Certainly Company X is excited about their new product and they can't wait to tell the world about it. But why should a blogger or media outlet care about Company X's new product or service? Unless your company's name is Apple, odds are you will have... Continue Reading

I have surveyed online business owners a number of times over the years. I have discovered a common thread in the problems that the majority of them are experiencing. 1) They are frustrated with the amount of traffic they get to their websites. Can you identify? 2) They are concerned that their online presence is not generating enough leads and new customers. Does that describe you? 3) They are upset with themselves (or vendors) for... I recently wrote a few articles that created quite a bit of response from my readers. Where is the Integrity in Internet Marketing? challenged many of the all-too-common tactics used by unscrupulous marketers. I invited my readers to share their thoughts and experiences related to these issues, and the comments that followed were both insightful and instructional. Let's face it. When it comes to selling a product or service, marketing approaches are all over the... Continue Reading
