Does Live 8 Matter?

The music world rocked this weekend as Bob Geldof's 20-year follow up to Live Aid pulled together the largest gathering of musicians across the globe than ever before. The cause was to rally around the richest nations, petitioning them to bring an end to poverty. I haven't seen much of the concerts, but am heading AOL to check out the Pink Floyd reunion. Reaching Out to Those in Need

As one of my frequent readers recently noted, our world is filled with people living in poverty or under a totalitarian government. While we do have many poor people in America, our version of poor looks rich by the standards of many third world countries. And even with money, some countries treat people as disposable objects.
