Over the past couple years, information marketers have come under greater scrutiny by the United States Federal Trade Commission. The FTC has taken several companies and individuals to task for deceptive Internet marketing practices. As the largest seller of information products online, Clickbank.com is now issuing clearer guidelines for the types of products and/or marketing practices that will be more closely scrutinized going forward. In other words, they are going to be working harder to... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) This article is for three primary audiences. It's for the business owner who does his own programming and development. It's for the business owner who has hired or contracted a developer to work for him. It's for the developer doing the work. I will be discussing the single piece of software that can increase your efficiency more than any other investment. Yes, it is an investment in your business... Continue Reading

You've heard the old philosophical riddle "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" Raising questions about reality, this question has undoubtedly claimed countless hours of debate in the halls of our colleges and universities. I find it relevant today as I make changes in my business and life. As I pull back from my business, I begin to wonder what would happen... Continue Reading

I'm trying to blog regularly for a number of reasons. First, it keeps me sharp. Blogging on a regular basis makes me think about things that are important to me. Second, it allows me to share with others. Whether or not you agree with what I say, think, feel or believe, my articles are an extension of my self. Third, it keeps my blog healthy with the search engines. Google and the other engines like... Continue Reading

I've been using email for a very long time. I think my first email address was an AOL.com address from version 1.0 of their software. Since that time I have had multiple email addresses. I no longer use the AOL.com address, but it is still active! I have two primary email accounts that I use today. One of them is my corporate account and the other is my personal account. Both addresses have become inundated... Continue Reading

I started the day lacing up my running shoes, taking a breath of fresh colorado air, and setting my sights on a new chapter. Today is Day #1 of Project Fit! As I blogged last week, I need to lose approximately forty pounds. On top of that, I would like to become physically fit. And I want to do it without going to extremes. No punitive diets. No beating my body into submission. We've all... Continue Reading

I've been a public speaker for a number of years.
Whether I am keynoting, conducting a workshop or doing a breakout session, I am passionate about my subject matter.
Everyone has different purposes for speaking. I do it because I must. I am strangely compelled and driven to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
And when I speak, I have three goals in mind.

(Written by guest contributor Kevin E. Houchin Esq.) Let me get right to the point. The reason our economy is in the tank today is that too many people are focused on creating money instead of creating real products and services. To correct this problem, we need to get back to the basics of creating products and services that people need or want, and let the money come as a result. That's the business of... Continue Reading

The press release is a mysterious thing. You may have been told how important it is to write and distribute press releases, but you may not be doing it or you may be doing it for the wrong reasons. Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Chris Harper) Let's face it: it's not hard to find flaws in a lot of online videos. I'm not above reproach myself. I often look back on my work and question my tactics or execution. As online video producers, we generally don't have the same budget or tools at our disposal that feature-length filmmakers do. Having said that, there are some things that you just can't do if you want people... Continue Reading

If I had a nickel for every person that wanted to build their own website, well, I'd have a LOT of nickels! The problem is that most people get stuck at the "building a website" part. They pay massive fees to have custom sites created. The spend a lot of money on incredibly complicated software. And they end up more frustrated than ever. That's why I have been hard at work on a solution that... Continue Reading

I'm going to be exploring the different kinds of video typically used in product launches. Obviously, you can add more along the way, but from my experience, these three are going to be key to your launch's success. In this article, I'll look at the elements of a compelling teaser video.
