I have to warn you now. This entry is not going to be pretty. But someone has got to say something. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Fine... sigh... I'll do it. Continue Reading

Dillon Colorado Rental Home - Wonderful Vacation!

Posted on February 23, 2009 7:45 AM

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of enjoying a weekend in the mountains with my family. We stayed in a neighborhood called Summerwood, located in Dillon, Colorado. It's about two hours from Loveland, where we live, and it was an absolutely perfect retreat for the weekend! Just a few minutes from Dillon AND Keystone resort, you could spend the entire weekend inside this massive home and do nothing but enjoy the spectacular views... Continue Reading

Hawaii Day 1 - Maui is Burning

Posted on June 28, 2007 10:16 AM

We arrived on Maui on Tuesday afternoon, snagged our rental car and made our way to the hotel. We're staying on the west side of the island in the Ka'anapali area. It's absolutely gorgeous here. From my fifth floor balcony I can see the ocean, the mountains, palm trees, sandy beaches and a beautiful landscape. It's 6 am Hawaii time as I blog this (my body says it is 10 am MST) and I've enjoyed... Continue Reading

Peerflix - Trade DVDs

Posted on August 11, 2005 2:40 PM

Netflix, Blockbuster, Wal-Mart and many others have entered the online DVD rental game. It is a very competitive market with each merchant bringing something different to the table. Today, I ran across a novel approach to DVD viewing. Peerflix.com invites you to TRADE DVDs instead of renting them. It's a pretty spiffy idea, and they have a free DVD offer which is very attractive. Here's what they offer: - Risk-free trial today. - Free DVD... Continue Reading

Internet Safety Secrets

Posted on July 6, 2005 11:44 PM

For nearly ten years I have provided useful resources for parents who want to keep their kids safe online. With the overwhelming amount of pornography, predators and violence on the Internet, how can wise parents allow their children to surf the web, check email and instant message without fear of these modern-day ills? I've written an ebook on this topic called "Internet Safety Secrets". Continue Reading

Rent DVDs and Games

Posted on January 29, 2005 10:09 PM

It is getting easier and easier to rent dvds and video games on the web. With BlockBuster and Wal-mart in the game, pricing is going down and service is getting competitive. I have used Blockbuster online for several months now and have been quite happy with the service. For $14.95/month, I can keep up to three DVDs at one time. On top of that, I can print out two coupons that I can take the... Continue Reading

BlockBuster Video - Free Trial

Posted on October 22, 2004 3:22 PM

A few months back, BlockBuster Video sent me a press kit encouraging me to try their new online DVD rental service. I had used Netflix once before, but wasn't too thrilled with their service at the time. I decided to give BlockBuster a try. After two months as a member, I must confess that I am terribly impressed with BlockBuster's service! Here's how it works. You pay a monthly fee of $19.95 which allows you... Continue Reading

GameNFlix.com - Rent Movies AND Video Games!

Posted on September 25, 2004 11:41 PM

I have written some about GameZNFlix.com on this site the past few months. The latest reports from subscribers is that their service is getting better all the time. Now might be a good time to try them out. Basically, for $18.50/month, you can rent up to three movies and video games at the same time. I've used NetFlix in the past, but they only offer movies. Some other services offer video game rentals. To my... Continue Reading

Dude, you are getting a game!

Posted on March 30, 2004 9:46 AM

I've been telling you about a newcomer on the video game/DVD rental market, GameZNFlix.com. They have finally launched their new site and they just announced that Ben Curtis (the former spokesman for Dell Computer) is going to be appearing in their new television commercials. This is a huge coup for GameZNFlix.com as they seek to compete with Netflix in the huge DVD rental market. The thing that makes their company different is that the monthly... Continue Reading

VeeGeez.com

Posted on February 6, 2004 2:42 PM

Last week I wrote about a new site I found, VeeGeez.com. VeeGeez is an online video game rental site. They intend to do for home video game rental what NetFlix did for the home DVD rental market. Well, they launched their new site this week and it looks GREAT! VeeGeez has some competition from GameFly and GPlay, but I think their site is better than the competitors. I am watching this one as an investment... Continue Reading

Seabiscuit

Posted on January 31, 2004 4:27 PM

Mary and I rarely go to the movies these days. I hate going to a crowded theater with people who talk during the film or make incessant noises as they scarf down their popcorn and jujubees. We are far more likely to enjoy a film in the comforts of our own home. We rarely see a film until it has come to DVD. Last night, we watched Seabiscuit. While I did not live through the... A Good Penny Stock Investment?

Posted on January 28, 2004 1:49 AM

I don't play with penny stocks much, but I've got my eye on a company with great potential. Point Group Holdings (Symbol PGHI) recently acquired VeeGeez.com, an online video game rental site. It's like NetFlix, only they rent video games instead of DVDs. If you'll remember, NetFlix went from $6 to almost $80 this past year. The DVD rental business is huge. So is the video game rental market. VeeGeez has some existing competition, but... Continue Reading
