I started the day lacing up my running shoes, taking a breath of fresh colorado air, and setting my sights on a new chapter. Today is Day #1 of Project Fit! As I blogged last week, I need to lose approximately forty pounds. On top of that, I would like to become physically fit. And I want to do it without going to extremes. No punitive diets. No beating my body into submission. We've all... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) Twitter grows more popular each and every day and more and more users are discovering it and putting it to use. Since the beginning, Twitter has struggled to meet this demand and it has been a big challenge for them to not only meet the current demand that their users have, but also to provide additional value to those users. One of the reasons that I have been reluctant... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Joseph A Michelli Ph.D.) Last week we talked about the importance of having a customer-centric business approach. But how exactly do you go about becoming a business like The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company that adds value though service excellence and desired experience? I take my clients through a very systematic process with delivery of that process adapted to the needs of their business. Typically this journey begins with an honest assessment of... What do you do if you are 38 years old and told by a doctor that you have just one year to live? That's exactly what happened to my friend Sylie Fortin. Shortly after getting married, Michel and Sylvie were face-to-face with the horrible diagnosis of breast cancer. But if you know Sylvie, you would know that this is not something she would take lying down. She pursued radical treatment and is alive two years... Continue Reading

I'm currently in Atlanta for Matt Bacak's Marketing Madness conference. I'm set to speak to 150 or so people tomorrow. So Dan Nickerson and I are in our hotel room right next to the airport. I mean DIRECTLY next to the airport. Our balcony overlooks all the runways, so we've enjoyed the sights and sounds of planes continually taking off and landing. But as we were coming back from dinner tonight, I noticed lightning in... Continue Reading

I had the pleasure of enjoying the company of my brother and his family this past weekend. They live in suburban Chicago, so it was a treat for them to come to the mountains and enjoy a little slower pace for a few days. By the way, you'll want to watch for my bro. He is a brilliant CPA with some keen insights into money management. I foresee a website and a book in the... Continue Reading

Momentum.
From Dictionary.com...

Let me throw in one more example...

It's time to drag out the cliches.
"Wow, can you believe it's 2007 already?"
"Man, that year zipped by so fast!"
"Before you know it it'll be 2008..."
You get the picture.
It's another turning of the page. Continue Reading

What makes people tick? Why do we respond to certain words, images and advertisements, while others seem entirely invisible to us? My friend from down-under, Sean D'Souza, has done a vast amount of research into the human mind. His site, Psychotactics, contains a wealth of free information that is beneficial to anyone who wishes to sell a product or service. But his information is also useful for discovering how to strengthen your relationships. Sean offers... Continue Reading

Our time at the Conwell Inn has been great. The room is very nice and they have had some sort of breakfast downstairs every morning. When I took the dog out this morning, I was pleased to see a hot waffle iron and cups of batter. I surprised Mary and the kids with fresh waffles to get the day off on the right foot. Unfortunately, Mary hasn't felt good the past couple of days, so... Continue Reading
