Failure is the Road to Success

Posted on November 11, 2010 5:02 AM

Failure. The word is laced with negative connotations. That's why I think failure gets a bum rap. Failing at something is not necessarily a bad thing. It just means you are trying. And it means you have found a way to not succeed. Thomas Edison went through thousands of experiments before his first lightbulb was illuminated. Ben Franklin is quoted as stating, "I didn't fail the test, I just found one hundred ways to do... Continue Reading

The Top Affiliate Challenge - In Defense of Thor Schrock

Posted on July 6, 2008 9:11 AM

Thor Schrock is catching a lot of heat over his online reality program, The Top Affiliate Challenge. I remember when Thor first told me about his idea for the show. I encouraged him to do it, but I warned him that it would take a miracle to pull off a quality show on a daily basis. When Eric and I produced The Next Internet Millionaire, we filmed for two weeks straight and had a two-week... Continue Reading

Democrats throw a temper tantrum

Posted on November 1, 2005 3:00 PM

In an unprecented political maneuver, Senate Democrats invoked "rule 21", overriding the Republican majority and sending the Sentate into a closed door session, purportedly to discuss pre-war intelligence. Nonsense. Continue Reading

Give us a REAL Conservative, Mr. President

Posted on October 30, 2005 10:51 PM

With the Harriet Miers nomination withdrawn, conservatives everywhere are calling on the President to bring forth a true conservative judge in the fashion of Scalia and Thomas. We desperately need to bring sanity back to the highest court in the land. Appointing a judge that would interpret the law, rather than legislate from the bench, is the best way to achieve this goal. Ding Dong the Witch is... Retiring!

Posted on July 1, 2005 1:44 PM

The news is out. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner is retiring from the Supreme Court. I know she has struggled with cancer and I wish her well with her health and family life. However, I could not be more delighted that she is leaving a vacancy on the highest court in the land. In fact, I am reminded of the elated feeling that the munchkins felt when Dorothy's house landed on the Wicked Witch... Continue Reading

The Myth of Separation of Church and State

Posted on November 11, 2004 12:00 AM

Ask the average American which constitution the phrase "separation of church and state" appears in and the majority will look at you as though only a moron wouldn't know the answer to the question. The most common reply will be "The United States Constitution". Imagine the surprise of these same people when they discover that not only does the phrase NOT appear in the U.S. Constitution, but the words DO appear in a version of... Continue Reading

#11 - Magnolia

Posted on January 10, 2004 1:55 AM

I have love. I just don't know where to put it. What can we forgive? It's been a couple weeks since my last review in the series titled, The 15 Best Movies Ever, but I now know why it has taken me so long. Initially not on my top 15 list, but a runner-up, I have been wanting to watch Magnolia for several weeks. Tonight I finally got the opportunity to do so. It is... Continue Reading
