Twitter Celebrities Come Together for Live 12-Hour Tweet-a-Thon

Posted on February 9, 2009 8:17 PM

When John Wiley & Sons asked me to write the definitive guide on using Twitter for business, I knew we would have a best-seller on our hands. The pre-orders on the book are strong and the buzz is spreading without me doing any real promotion. So I've decided to do something very special to celebrate the launch of Twitter Power. On Thursday, February 19th, I will be conducting the world's first live broadcast Tweet-a-thon! The... Continue Reading

The Sydney Opera House and Edward Scissorhands

Posted on June 11, 2008 12:46 AM

I need to back up a bit because I left out Sunday from my journal. On Sunday, I spoke at Chris Howard's "Ultimate Wealth Symposium" on the grounds of the Sydney Olympic Park. I had a fantastic time sharing my story with 800 or so people. I've got to say, the Aussies are a bit difficult to get moving, but I think everyone had a good time and learned a thing or two. I also... Continue Reading

I recently received an email from a reader. May I share it with you? "Joel, I appreciate your newsletters and great tips. You tell us about a new software tool that is the supposed answer to our problems, but... Continue Reading

Planning Your Work and Working Your Plan

Posted on March 15, 2007 11:03 AM

Vince Lombardi once said, "A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done." Take inventory of yourself... Are you where you want to be? If not, why not? Continue Reading

Another Atheist Comes to the Truth

Posted on December 10, 2004 12:40 AM

Over the years, many atheists and agnostics have enjoyed mocking Christians and people of religion who choose to believe in God. The most frequent criticism is that belief in God is unscientific, therefore it is foolish. What many people don't realize is that the Bible and the stories within have an incredible amount of evidence to support them. More and more scientists are recognizing that the complexity of the universe necessitates a divine Creator as... Continue Reading

Home again, home again, jiggedy jig

Posted on December 6, 2004 10:44 AM

It has been a whirlwind long weekend in the suburbs of Chicago. We flew in late Thursday to celebrate my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. Friday night was a family dinner at my brother's home. Saturday was the ceremoney. Sunday was a fantastic party. Today we head back to Oklahoma. I have a good many thoughts on the Bar Mitzvah, as well as how it relates to my Jewish heritage and my Christian faith, but it's time... Continue Reading

Posted on August 13, 2004 12:02 AM

The California Supreme Court got one right. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The California Supreme Court on Thursday voided the nearly 4,000 same-sex marriages sanctioned in San Francisco this year and ruled unanimously that the mayor overstepped his authority by issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples. The court said the city violated the law when it issued the certificates, since both legislation and a voter-approved measure defined marriage as a union between a man... Continue Reading
