Posted on October 19, 2010 1:26 PM

Starting your own online business is a lot like a long journey. You will need perseverance, stamina, and some faith, and you will reach your goals. But lots of people burn up all of their energy right out of the starting gate. Have you ever gotten really excited about a business idea or an online mentor, thrown a lot of money at it, and then never done anything or really learned anything from it? There... Continue Reading

Why You Should Network Like It's 1999

Posted on August 27, 2010 3:26 PM

As online marketers, we put a lot of stock in social networking, and rightfully so. There really is no better way to get the word out about your business, its mission, and your brand and to build valuable relationships that will create opportunities and help your business grow. Or is there? Back in the day, before Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and even Friendster, all they could do was network the old-fashioned way: face-to-face and in person... Continue Reading

Wave Goodbye to Google Wave

Posted on August 3, 2010 1:25 PM

When Google launched Wave back in 2009, it was met with a mixture of head-scratching and hand-raising. Because it was invitation-only, there was huge demand from people who wanted to try it out. (Invitations were even said to have sold on eBay for $70 each). But people -- both those who had tried it out and those who wanted to -- wondered what it was for. Continue Reading

Unlike brick and mortar businesses that frequently require retail or office space, inventory of products and an in-house staff, an online business can be run from home with no inventory and outsourced staff. Preparing for the Future

Posted on November 10, 2008 8:00 AM

Every Internet business -- every business of any sort in fact -- starts in the same place. In the future. Most entrepreneurs think first of how they want their business to look when it's all set up. They imagine the products prepared, the marketing streams in place and the revenue flowing in while they relax and cash the checks. Continue Reading

World Series Tickets - Colorado Rockies versus Boston Red Sox

I'm not a big sports fan. I used to watch a lot of baseball when I was a kid. And I watched a good bit of football in college. But as an adult, I just haven't made much time for sports. Continue Reading

Happy New Year 2007

Posted on December 31, 2006 12:06 PM

It's time to drag out the cliches. "Wow, can you believe it's 2007 already?" "Man, that year zipped by so fast!" "Before you know it it'll be 2008..." You get the picture. It's another turning of the page. Continue Reading

The Death of AdSense

Listen... Can you hear it? It's the sound of panic. Hysteria. It's the sound of fearmongers, making as much noise as they can... to scare you. I can hear it. Can you? Continue Reading

Vioxx Hysteria?

Posted on October 23, 2004 2:28 PM

And so, the litigation hounds once again are unleashed on the prescription drug community. This time it is over Vioxx, an anti-arthitic drug manufactured by Merck. Research has long pointed to the fact that long-term use of Vioxx may contribute to heart attacks and strokes. Perhaps the FDA didn't study the drug long enough. Perhaps the pharmaceutical companies are only interested in money. Perhaps people don't read the warning labels. And perhaps some were willing... Continue Reading

Abortion Rights?

Posted on April 28, 2004 12:00 AM

It's gonna get heavy folks. Hang tight. On the heels of Sunday's "Pro-Choice" march in the nation's capitol, I continue to be dumbfounded by the rhetoric of these people. Underneath the surface of "women's rights" lies multitudes of women wounded by their choice to kill their own babies. Let's face it. This argument is NOT about abortion. It is about whether or not the "fetus" in the womb is a life. If it is not... Continue Reading

It's just after 10 pm in Edmond, OK and it is another BAD night for storms. They have spotted a tornado about 30 miles west of here and the storm is heading this way. Sticking close to the TV... Continue Reading
