Standards for Ethical Internet Marketing

Posted on February 16, 2011 12:38 AM

I recently wrote a few articles that created quite a bit of response from my readers. Where is the Integrity in Internet Marketing? challenged many of the all-too-common tactics used by unscrupulous marketers. I invited my readers to share their thoughts and experiences related to these issues, and the comments that followed were both insightful and instructional. Let's face it. When it comes to selling a product or service, marketing approaches are all over the... Continue Reading

Time for a Change

Posted on February 3, 2011 3:04 AM

"To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1 Nothing lasts forever. Change is inevitable. Over the past fifteen or so years I have created dozens of websites, products, services and applications that run the gamut of new media. Content sites, information products, member sites, web-based software, iPhone applications, mobile marketing platforms, entertainment sites and more. During that time I have had some tremendous successes and some... Continue Reading

Joel at 175 Pounds

Posted on January 13, 2011 12:01 AM

On September 1st, 2010, I weighed in at over 225 pounds. I didn't step on the scale often because it wasn't very good news. My energy levels were low. My blood pressure was high. And I was moody. I didn't want to feel that way anymore. I had lost weight in the past, but I wasn't sure I could do it again. After all, I DID balloon back to my previous weight AND put on... Continue Reading

Cash Keywords

Posted on March 15, 2010 10:24 AM

If you've been following my blog for the past few months, you'll know that I am being extremely selective when it comes to endorsing products that are not my own. I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and promote a product just because everyone else is. So you can be sure that when I DO endorse a third-party product or service, it is of great value. What is the secret to making money online? What strategy has been known to be effective for the vast majority of people who faithfully implement it? What is the one thing that you are fully equipped to do RIGHT NOW without any further training? Many in the Internet marketing and online business space won't tell you this. They don't want you to know. But I'm about to spill the beans... to show my hand... to... Continue Reading

Entrepreneur Bootcamp 2009

Posted on October 19, 2009 1:51 PM

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of traveling to London to speak at Andrew Reynold's Entrepreneur Bootcamp 2009. For the past few years, Andrew has put on an annual event that has dwarfed other marketing events in both size and scope. This year sought to outdo them all with a massive two-day event at the London O2 Arena. Continue Reading

What Are You Scared Of?

Posted on May 22, 2009 8:00 AM

I'm scared of change. There, I said it. It's not big news though. Everyone is scared of change. Change is a scary thing. It means giving up what you have now for something better that you can only hope you'll have in the future. It's risky. It's dangerous. It's disruptive. It's also thrilling, exciting... and inevitable. Continue Reading

The Power of your Community

Posted on December 4, 2008 8:00 AM

It happens even before your site really starts to make money. You post articles, market your content, pick up comments and find that other sites are talking about you. All of a sudden, you've moved from being one person with ideas you want to share to being the center of a community, part of a circle of online friends with a keen interest in what you have to say. Nickelmania strikes again! Right, I know. What the heck is Nickel-Mania? It's the brain child of Gary Ambrose. Basically, Gary releases one of his tremendous products and starts the price at a nickel. That's just five cents! And with each person that purchases, the price of the product goes up a little bit at a time. Continue Reading

Doing Something That's Never Been Done

Posted on April 7, 2007 8:39 AM

They say variety is the spice of life. I have to agree. I love variety. It keeps things exciting. It's why you see me doing multiple projects and always coming out with something new. I just can't sit still. (My wife says it is ADD, but I think she is.. Oh! Look at the butterfly!) ;-) Well, you know how I teach people to find a niche and become the expert in that niche by... The Turning Point

Posted on April 4, 2007 12:16 AM

I was on the phone with Armand Morin last night, and I've been thinking about something he said ever since. We talked about the great ebooks that are out there... We talked about some of the cool software tools that are now available... And of course, we talked about AdSense. But here's what he said that stuck with me. Continue Reading

Content Composer

Posted on March 29, 2007 1:03 AM

I recently received an email from a reader. May I share it with you? "Joel, I appreciate your newsletters and great tips. Out of all the so-called gurus, I feel like you deliver more real value in your email than anyone else. But I am feeling very confused about all the different ways you discuss to make money. You tell us about a new software tool that is the supposed answer to our problems, but... Continue Reading

I am currently in a top-secret location with an unnamed group of people. What do we have in common? We are all online entreprenuers. Why gather? Because when people get together and begin discussing their lives, powerful stuff takes place. Continue Reading

Attending Industry Conferences

Posted on January 10, 2006 11:04 AM

There are many activities one can partake in in order to grow their business. Whether engaging in the creative process, developing product and/or services or executing a long-term vision, all components are critical to success. However, I have found that one activity stands above the others in terms of long-term value to me personally, and to my business. Thus the title of my post. Continue Reading
