Apple's Game Center continues to gain traction with iPhone and iPod Touch users. After all, what better way to kill time waiting for the bus or at the airport than with an endless supply of video games at your fingertips? However, only a handful of the 200-plus games in the Game Center have true multiplayer functionality. That is rapidly changing thought, partly with the help of one of InfoMedia Inc's sister companies, Digital Future. Continue Reading

Part of project planning is knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em, as a wise man once said. No matter how exciting or cool you might think a project is, some of them just don't become as profitable as you would like. It's important to set some boundaries and budget limits at the outset, so that you don't keep pouring money and effort into something that isn't going to go anywhere. Here... Continue Reading

You've heard the old philosophical riddle "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" Raising questions about reality, this question has undoubtedly claimed countless hours of debate in the halls of our colleges and universities. I find it relevant today as I make changes in my business and life. As I pull back from my business, I begin to wonder what would happen... Continue Reading

Consumerism has a way of telling us what we want without really knowing who we are. It's safe to assume that most of us want to be healthy, have significant relationships and not carry any debt. But that doesn't mean we all want to have a six-pack, bed as many people as we can or be incredibly wealthy. You would think that those are the ultimate goals for life, according to Madison Avenue. It's just... Continue Reading

I'm trying to blog regularly for a number of reasons. First, it keeps me sharp. Blogging on a regular basis makes me think about things that are important to me. Second, it allows me to share with others. Whether or not you agree with what I say, think, feel or believe, my articles are an extension of my self. Third, it keeps my blog healthy with the search engines. Google and the other engines like... Continue Reading

If you have a book up your sleeve, or maybe even already written, a logical next question is how to bring your book to the world. There are more options out there these days than there ever have been before, but sometimes the various options can be paralyzing, especially for someone who's never published anything before. (And maybe even for those who have.) When you are considering the following options, always keep in mind what... Continue Reading

A few years ago I heard people in the Internet marketing circles talking about "The Secret." I was told it was an amazing film featuring successful people demonstrating a "law of the universe" that had been hidden from the majority of mere mortals. Starring in this film based on a book by Rhonda Byrne were such people as Joe Vitale, James Arthur Ray, Michael Beckwith, David Schirmer and Bill Harris, among otthers. I decided to... I've given away a ton of stuff in my time. Ebooks, special reports, software, you name it. Of course, my blog content is free too. All of those free things were valuable. Often, they were products that people had been paying hundreds of dollars for... until I decided to give them away for nothing. There's no point in handing out the kinds of products that no one wants. That doesn't do any good at all. Continue Reading

The Internet has made life so much easier in so many ways. Think of all the time you save now that you don't have to stand in line at the bank or the post office, or shop in real stores. So what do you do with all of that time that the Internet saves you? Chances are you spend it...on the Internet. Great as the Internet is, it can be quite a time sink. Here... Continue Reading

In this weekly update, you might find me trending a bit towards pop culture. There's just so much to talk about. The title of the entry sandwiches a very serious issue in between two entertaining, yet ultimately meaningless television programs for a reason. That's because the health care discussion (if you can call it that) that has taken place in the United States the past year has been largely void of substance. Instead, the current... (Written by guest contributor Andrew Krzysiak) If you're like me and the vast majority of users, you have established your web presence through a combination of sites like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Coroflot. I love these sites because they allow me to interact with my family, friends, coworkers, and other professionals in a way that simply isn't possible on my own website. This realization leaves me wondering, "Why do I need a personal website, and... Continue Reading

Though some people have labeled me as a visionary, I am incapable of predicting the future.
And while I happen to latch on to hot trends before the curve, it doesn't mean I have a working crystal ball.
Let's face it. I have no idea what is going to happen next.
So how exactly do you know what your customer wants?
There is a way. And it's actually not complex. It's not rocket science. Continue Reading
