It was early September 2010. At over 225 pounds and sporting a size 40 waist, I decided it was time to make a change. After all, at 46-years old, I wasn't getting any younger. In order to hold myself accountable to my desire to get fit and lose weight, I went public with my goals. I wrote about the changes I would be making extensively on this blog. My first entry was posted 9/14/10. By... Continue Reading

One year ago today, I weighed in at 225 pounds with a 40-inch waist. With just a 5'10" frame, I was unhealthy and on the road to very bad things. Today, I am 170 pounds with a 32-inch waist. I've never felt better in my life. And people continue to ask me what plan I followed. It's simple. Eat less and move your body more. Common sense, right? However, there are some things I did... How is it possible to be in one place and everywhere at the same time? For us mere mortals, it's not. However, with social media all of us are more connected than ever before. I frequently get questions from people wanting to know how they can connect with me. I thought it would be useful for me to provide a list of where you can find me. I invite you to connect and interact with... Continue Reading

Being unhealthy is no fun. I spent many years being obese and not having energy. I had finally had enough.
A couple months back I wrote about how I went from 225 pounds to 175 pounds, dropping eight inches off my waist.
But people continue to ask me how I lost so much weight.
So I decided to shoot a video to review the basics of "The Joel Comm Diet." Continue Reading

On September 1st, 2010, I weighed in at over 225 pounds. I didn't step on the scale often because it wasn't very good news. My energy levels were low. My blood pressure was high. And I was moody. I didn't want to feel that way anymore. I had lost weight in the past, but I wasn't sure I could do it again. After all, I DID balloon back to my previous weight AND put on... Continue Reading

It's a new year and more than likely you have new ideas, goals, and plans for your life. And if you're reading this right now, you probably have more than a few goals for your online business. But where are they in terms of importance? Have you prioritized them to take precedence over your goal to lose weight or embark on international travel? Not to take anything away from your desire to be healthy or... Continue Reading

Yesterday I scared little children around the world with photos of me at 225 pounds. I did warn you beforehand, so please don't send me your psycho-analysis and therapy bills. For the past three months I have been on The Joel Comm Diet, which is not a diet at all. Instead it combines common sense with a plan that works for me. I am pleased to say that three months later I have lost 35... Continue Reading

There is a lot that goes into running your online business. SEO, shopping carts, web design, social media promotions, information products, building an email list, and on and on. It can be tempting to get wrapped up in all of these things, and there is no denying that they are all very important to your business. But oftentimes people get so focused on and distracted by these things that they lose sight of what is... Continue Reading

WARNING: What you are about to see may traumatize you. Parents of small children are cautioned from letting their kids see the photos on this page. I will not be held responsible if they have nightmares! As you may know, I have struggled with my weight the bulk of my adult life. (See how I used the word "bulk" in a sentence? I'm a punny guy...) There are two reasons this has been a problem... Continue Reading

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." - William Arthur Ward How often do we gripe about the way things are in the world? How often do we complain about bad things that have happened to us? And how often do we lament that things in our lives should be different? If you are anything like me, the answer is likely to be "way too often." The... Continue Reading

What makes the difference between a person who succeeds and one who doesn't? What makes the difference between a person who accomplishes great things and another who never does anything? What makes the difference between a person who gets what they want and one that is left empty-handed? Certainly, life can throw all kinds of curveballs at us. We don't get to choose our parents. We don't get to choose where we are born. We... Continue Reading

Starting your own online business is a lot like a long journey. You will need perseverance, stamina, and some faith, and you will reach your goals. I've been at Project Fit for about a month now. My goal has been to prove you don't need to go to extremes in order to lose weight and become healthier. There's nothing wrong with extreme exercising as it really can't do you harm. But there is a problem with extreme dieting. I don't want to be extreme in any way. After reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, I wanted to put his theories... Continue Reading

I believe whenever you are preparing to make a lifestyle change, it's a good idea to confer with your medical doctor.
In today's Project Fit episode I do just that.
