You probably run WordPress because you want your site to rank well on Google. That makes you smart -- WordPress is GREAT for that. Well, what would it be like to watch your Google ranking creep up and up every day for a while... ...and then to watch your rankings, your traffic, and your site's profits steadily decline to near zero? Well, it can happen when Google realizes that your posts and pages are STALE... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) Twitter grows more popular each and every day and more and more users are discovering it and putting it to use. Since the beginning, Twitter has struggled to meet this demand and it has been a big challenge for them to not only meet the current demand that their users have, but also to provide additional value to those users. One of the reasons that I have been reluctant... Continue Reading

What's the real secret to getting things done? While much of the answer lies in things like motivation and daily habits, you also can't ignore the value of the tools you use every day to do the work. We polled our staff to find out what's running on their machines here at the office and at home. What we found is that our office has some universal solutions, and then seemed to split departmentally. So... Continue Reading

Is "change" coming to Wells Fargo Bank? I'm in Henderson, Nevada at Green Valley Ranch preparing to speech at James Malinchak's Millionaire Success Secrets event. The topic for my talk is "How to Get Google to Send You Money", which is about making money with AdSense. As part of my AdSense presentation, I use $50 - $75 in pennies to illustrate how little clicks add up to real money. So every time I visit a... Continue Reading

There's a sign of success on Twitter that's very easy to spot. If you have many more followers than the number of people you're following then you're doing something right. Of course, it's possible to create a timeline like that simply by following lots of people, waiting for them to follow you... then deleting them. But that's not what I'm talking about. You should be following people because you find their tweets interesting, not because... Continue Reading

Social bookmarking is one of the hottest trends in social networking. It is a great way to make more contacts with people, and content that makes the front page of social bookmarking sites can be a windfall of traffic for your site. Continue Reading

Did you ever walk into one of those old mom-and-pop hardware stores, the sort of place where piles of dusty boxes filled with metal things are stacked from floor to ceiling and nothing's got a label on it? You walk up to the counter, explain what you're trying to do and the store owner nods, starts bringing down boxes and in no time at all finds exactly the widget you were looking for. Those people... This is a hugely exciting time to be an online publisher. It used to be the case that if you wanted to earn from ads on your website, there was only one thing to do.
You signed up to AdSense, pasted in the code, optimized the units and brought in traffic while following your stats.
You still have to do that.
But these days that's just the beginning.

Social Media is all the buzz right now. It started with MySpace, continued with YouTube and has brought about Facebook, Twitter and a host of other sites promising the help people interact in new ways. These sites have become very popular and two were purchased for a tidy sum. Rupert Murdoch's News Corp purchased MySpace for $580 million and Google bought YouTube for for $1.65 BILLION. I'm sure the boys from Facebook and Twitter have... Continue Reading

I love quick and easy changes that make a significant difference.
A few months back, I learned of a contextual advertising service that was compatible with Google AdSense.
It took me less than 15 minutes to place their code on my pages.
In my first month, I made an additional $1000 just from that fifteen minutes.
Not bad!
And it gets better... Continue Reading

I love keeping my eye out for new ad services that can make you and me money.
Google AdSense continues to pay off.
Kontera is a winner is my books.
And I've had some positive things happen with YPN and Chitika.
But I've come across something new which pays off INSTANTLY!

Twitter this. Twitter that. Twitter, twitter, twitter. I must confess. I'm still not sure what the point is of Twitter. Basically, Twitter allows you to tell the world what you are doing at any given moment, embed a clever little widget on your site so they can keep up with you, and you in turn can see what they are doing. I'm not sure I get it. Nevertheless, apparantly millions of people do get it... Continue Reading

When I was at Blogworld last week, I came upon the booth of a company called "Entrecard." Their display caught my attention and I introduced myself to the CEO, Graham Langdom. To my surprise, Graham is also the creator of The Million Dollar Wiki. The reason I was surprised is that I had become familiar with that site the week before and had purchased a few pages on the site! Anyhow, knowing how innovative Graham... Continue Reading
