I just finished reading Shadowmancer by G.P. Taylor. I bought it for my son to read and he really enjoyed it. On his recommendation, I gave it a read. I don't know why, but this sad story got my attention. A couple idiots took someone's 2-pound Yorkie and punted it like a football, killing the poor pup.
