Thanksgiving

bturkey.gifWhen we were on our month-long road trip, one of our key stops was in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the place where the pilgrims first set foot on the continent after disembarking the Mayflower. Click here to read about our journey to this historic location. And click here to learn more about the first Thanksgiving.

One of the stops on our trip was in Niagra Falls, Canada. While we were there, we visited a church. As it turned out, they were celebrating the Canadian version of Thanksgiving that very weekend, a full 6-7 weeks before we celebrate.

So, where will YOU be spending Thanksgiving? Be sure to enter your comments below and let me know!

  1. Linda Hillis Says:

Just wanted to share this little ditty with you (author unknown) as you chow down on that 22 lb. bird! And yes, don't forget about dessert!

    I ATE TOO MUCH

    I ate too much turkey
    I ate too much corn
I ate too much pudding and pie.
    I'm stuffied up with muffins...
    And much, too much stuffin'
And I'm probably going to die.

    I piled up my plate
And I ate and I ate,
But I wish I had known when to stop
For I'm so crammed with yams,
    Sauces, gravies and jams
That my buttons are starting to pop!

    I'm full of tomatoes
    And french fried potatoes.
My stomach is swollen and sore.
    But there's still some dessert...
So I guess it won't hurt
If I eat just a little bit more.
