It's stupendous!
It's spectacular!
If you have it, you will become more handsome, popular, healthy, fit, wealthy, wise and able to bowl a perfect game.
Your golf swing will equal that of Tiger Woods', you'll be able to get any girl (or guy) that you want, and your bank account will fill itself overnight.
How could you ever live without it?
Sure, you may be overweight and out of shape, but with "it" you'll be buff and sporting a six-pack with little to no effort.
Your love life may be dry like the Sahara, but with "it" you'll be attracting models galore.
And your bank account may only be full of mothballs, but with "it" you can plan that move to Tahiti because there will always be more than enough cash replenishing itself automatically.
So what in the world is "it" and how do I get it?
"It" are the promises presented by so many marketers online (and offline).
"It" are the incredibly hyped up headlines promising all of the above and persuading you that their product is the one that can give "it" to you.
And "it" is full of... well... let's just say "it" isn't all "it" is cracked up to be!
"It" is the quck fix.
"It" is the easy button.
"It" is the answer to all your problems.
The problem is that "it" doesn't really exist. At least not like this.
Could it be that "it" is just another problem in itself?
What are our biggest struggles?
Relationships, health and money.
Who doesn't want to find the perfect mate?
Who doesn't want to look and feel great?
And who doesn't want endless streams of cash?
But what are the odds that you can get any of these things just by buying an eBook or audio series?
No matter how good the solutions are, just purchasing a product won't do anything for you.
You can't place an audio series under your pillow and expect the knowledge and practical applications to transfer into your brain through osmosis.
As I've written and spoken on many times before, that part takes work... HARD work.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
So what is the REAL "it"?
"It" is not only hard work.
"It" is determination.
"It" is ambition.
"It" is character.
"It" is networking with others.
"It" is bringing value to the world.
"It" is going against the flow when everything around you screams "give up!"
"It" is the real deal.
Have you got "it"?
If you don't, you can still get "it".
But you have to want "it" enough.
There is no magic pill you can take to make you lose weight and be fit.
There is no aroma you can wear that will make you truly desirable to a quality person of the opposite gender.
And there is no easy button to make your bank account grow overnight.
"It" doesn't exist in that form.
But "it" DOES exist if you understand what "it" really is.
Get it?

The good news about "it" - it is available to all of us. We all have access to "it".
You are right. Many are making claims they have "it" we want. But it really comes from within, doesn't it? (No pun intend)
I'm SO disappointed.
I know "it". And, ... I know that if you live your life by "it" you cannot fail. You will be able to overcome all strife and challenges. "It" does not mean life will be easy but you will endure.
"It" is in your heart and no one can take it from you!
I know that you have "it". That is why I have been following you for all these years.

This one is the hardest for me. I live in a very traditional and old-fashioned country Croatia (which I love and would die for, but still...).
When I mention something like "Internet marketing" and "making money online", they say "it" is all scam, it won't work, my ONE and ONLY solution is to grab a book and study because no security and stability can be achieved without full-time job.
Fact is that most people hate that "fact", and most would like some quick fix alternative.
I am one of the few trying to prove the opposite. I am far from earning a good income online, but I am godamn sure I will make it, no matter how negatively they may be judging me.

Thanks so much for this post. It's so true and honest and, well, UNUSUAL coming from an internet marketer.
Just today I've read 4 emails from different marketers whose lists I'm on. All 4 of them made ridiculous claims about money flowing into my bank account without effort. My intelligence is constantly insulted with such junk. I know, I should just unsubscribe, but aren't I suppose to model myself after people more successful than me?? Maybe i should start listening to you more, Joel.
Last year I was sent an email from a family member. She did not mean to send it to me because it was about me. But I read it anyway.
In the email she went on about how foolish I was to think that I could go for "it". How I am wasting my time and turning out to be a looser. The email was pretty powerful in a very negative way.
But it motivated me more than ever.
Today I am so happy that I went for "it" despite the criticism. And it really feels good to be able to show people like that that "it" is worth "it"!
Thanks Joel, as a beginner in internet marketing this article very encourage me to get my 'it' and explore 'it'.
I still don't get "it". Hopefully you will explain later.

Btw.. no offense but I find your pop-up very annoying. I've gotten rid of all of mine and have found that an opt-in box on the page is enough to let people sign up if they want to.. and they DO if they have a sincere interest in what I have to offer. That way I don't get any people on my list who only got there because I "popped" them into it and only end up opting out anyway. :-(

Joel, I really enjoyed reading this. This is a very powerful post! I once heard someone say that the true measure of success is to be able to succeed at doing what you really want to do. You really sum "it" up. "It" can be so many things to many people. I like to think "it" starts with the power to believe in oneself, the ability to dream, and the perserverance to never give up. Thank you for sharing "it"!
