The Final "Friends"

Posted on May 7, 2004 02:00 PM by Joel Comm

friends.jpgWhen Friends came to NBC ten years ago, Mary and I loved the program. We recorded it every week and rarely missed an episode. About three years ago, we completely lost interest in the show. Tons of sex jokes and too many on-again off-again relationships contributed to changing the channel. On top of that, Survivor was scheduled in opposition to Friends.

However, we did want to see how the series ended. As far as series finales go, it was mediocre. Ross and Rachel ended up together. Surprise. It only took TEN YEARS. Monica and Chandler now have twins instead of one baby. Did these doctors not do an ultrasound? Joey is still an idiot. Phoebe is still freaky. And they all lived happily ever after.

I had hoped for more creative twists and turns in the finale. It was basically a love-fest for fans of the show.

Prediction... The spinoff show, Joey, will flop. Enough... moving on...
