This blog gets read by thousands of people each day.
Yet only a handful of visitors ever leave comments.
Response rates are typically low because most of us are very busy, or we don't feel compelled to share our opinion.
I understand because I rarely leave comments on other people's blogs. I just enjoy reading them and moving on.
I would like to see a change in that today because I am going to ask you to do something.
I promise, it won't be difficult.
What I am going to ask you to do is to interact with this particular blog entry.
To do so, all you need to do is scroll to the bottom of the page and leave a comment.
What should you write? Well, hopefully you'll have some ideas when I pose the following questions to you.
I am doing this to get a better feel for who you are. I want to make sure that I am bringing value to you via this blog. If only a small percentage of readers leave comments, I may be missing out on valuable feedback.
If you want to leave your comments anonymously that's fine with me. But realize that I don't hide behind any curtains. I am very clear about who I am and would ask you for the same level of transparency.
So here goes...
In your comments, I would be thrilled if you would answer any or all of the following questions.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
NOTE: These questions are just conversation starters. If you would rather talk about something else, I want you to feel free to do so. I'm looking for the real you, not fill-in-the-blanks. So feel free to comment however you wish.
And know that I don't have any kind of special bonus for you if you answer these questions. I'm inquiring because I really want to know who you are.
I appreciate you taking time to participate. Not only will your responses will help me take the dialogue to the next level, but I think they will help others see that they are not alone in their quest to achieve their goals.
Thank you!
Let the comments begin...

I enjoy your blog and have downloaded and read some of your material. Very informative and I intend to keep checking back.

Yes Joel I do have my own internet business which generates an income that I could just about live off - my capital investment in it has been insignificant while my time investment has been huge.
While I have a few other businesses as well, I would really like to get the internet business to the mega income sort of level that would allow me to sell off the other businesses & allow me the freedom to travel while enjoying the fruits of my online endeavors.
I really enjoy your broad minded approach to internet marketing & try and see things with an open mind when it comes to exploring innovative ways of making money online.
I also think adapting to the changing online environment is key to be being successful online.
And lastly please keep on providing the type of material & real online marketing advice that can help all of us who are trying to get to your level ito online marketing.
I'm Chantal Sukel, campaign manager of Eurail.Com, worldwide online sales of European train passes Eurail and InterRail. Headquarters in the Netherlands, that's where I'm from. I started to follow you after reading Twitter Power. I've been an early adopter of corporate Facebook with Eurail and InterRail but am still struggling to find the best way to make Twitter worth while. Being only 24, I find conversations about so called 'new' media very interesting. So keep on writing about that! It's a pity the blog reads a bit slow on mobile. Thanks for all tips so far! Hopefully speak in the near future. Chantal (@chantalsukel)
Joel - This is my first time to your blog. My interest is in learning to leverage social media/technology tools to enhance relationships and do greater good. My experience is all of roughly 30 days on facebook and twitter (a little longer with LinkedIn). Focused efforts include Leadership (consultative, interim executive, board/governance, other creative arrangements), Entrepreneurism (consultative, collaborative, ownership, social/philanthropic), and Transformation (learning, writing, speaking, and connecting) - primarily in the health industry sector. Currently in the very early stages of developing an "information product" to be sold via the web. "Life's too short to drink bad wine"...information to help us avoid the procrastination of mindless banter through technology would be very helpful. Thanks for asking!

Hi Joel,
we've chatted in the past but I'll stick to the questions
Im Phil Henderson and I live in a beautiful mountainside village in Scotland, although I'm originally from north east England.
I have my own Internet business around the area of SEO. I offer offline companies the opprtunity to take advantage of the boom in local search marketing and the power of social media.
I also promote affiliate offers, products and services using my Stupidly Simple SEO system.
This system is also in beta test just now in readiness for our launch at the end of March.
I measure my success not just monetarily but also in the success I have helping others to increase their profits and also develop new skills to ensure business success.
I'm driven to help others, that i would say is my calling in life.
I've followed you and your publications for a good few years now and always enjoy and value the content you deliver. Even iFart lol
the articles that really interest me are those that cover the experiences, trials and tribulations of other marketers.
I'm more interested in their mind set, personal strengths and ability to adapt
if I could have you write about one thing it would be a simple easy to follow success guide/blueprint designed for newbies to Internet marketing and online business as I feel their is so much clutter and confusion around and many, many people are given the wrong advice and direction.
I believe that you have the kudos and track record to help these people as they do deserve a selfless mentor not money grabbing tricksters.
I hope the above is ok?
I also hope you are well and life is treating you great!!
All the best
Phil Henderson
1: Travis, from Oklahoma. I got started in internet marketing doing ecommerce. I was actually kind of thrown into it when I purchased a website that was profiting. It forced me to learn to keep the sales up. From there, I've opened several other websites, sold a few, but overall i'm make more than I was when I started, but no where near rich. ;)
2: My current new business is http://www.purplemartinsupply.com, it's a store I decided to create after my dad was looking for a purple martin house locally, but wasn't successful in finding one. I decided to start this baby up, it is just now getting off the ground. I also own PHPGator.com and do some web development on the side for people, hence the name, PHPGator. I'm getting into Affiliate marketing gradually though.
3: I have read Shoemoney's blog for quite a while now. He mentioned you in one of his posts about a year ago I believe. I read your posts because they are insightful about the world of online business.
4: Articles that will teach me new tricks and tips to gaining more traffic to my websites are by far more helpful than any of the others.
5: I would like to see a real successful case study on some type of advertising. If it is direct advertising, how did you go about finding where to advertise? If it is PPC, maybe do a similar case study as DK / Purpose Inc did on Facebook Ads recently. I thought that was very helpful.
My name is Debbie and I live in Israel.
If truth be told, I'm only here because I just saw your tweet encouraging me to read this.
So I came over here and liked that you want to know who I am. That's refreshing.
I've interacted with you a couple of times on Twitter and appreciate that you actually encourage conversations. Nice.
In real life I'm a marketing consultant working both in the real world and online.
I'm not into the Internet millionaire stuff at all. I'm far more interested in finding ways to help out the little guys, the small businesses who stand or fall on their business decisions.
I view my responsibilities as a marketing consultant very seriously. The advice I give can not only make or break a business, it can make or break the families behind that business.
So I'd like to know more about what you think about marketing ethics and best practices. I'd like to know how you measure success and what your plans are for the future.
Now that I've been lured over here (in the nicest possible way!) I'll hang around for a bit and explore.
Debbie
I'm Michelle, from upstate NY.
I have a small e-bay business selling items for your dogs and about dogs that I LOVE but I also work full time as a Quality Engineer and I hate it. I'd like to expand my e-bay business to a larger on-line business and get away from e-bay but am not exactly sure how to take that first leap. I'm not a website designer or programmer.
I've been visiting your website/blog for about a week.
Articles that interest me are ones that tell me how to go about building my on-line business in plain english. I'm computer savvy, I've programmed in a previous life. I'm just not html savvy at the moment.
If you could write about one thing.... How to make that leap of faith, and quit my high paying day job with great benefits that I hate but supports my family...and leap into the dark chasm of the unknown ....

Hello,
My name is Duygu and I'm from Turkey. I am currently working in a private shopping website. I have read your book twitter power to optimize our account and I found it very useful indeed.
I would love to read more on road maps for beginners, especially about social media.
Thanks a lot.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Howard, and I'm from Plano, TX
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
My main businesses are not "internet businesses," but I use the web to advertise them, with considerable success. My total advertising expense now consists of my time, plus about $200/year in hosting fees, most of which I get back by reselling hosting to organizations for whom I build websites.
I teach concealed handgun license courses, and violin lessons (interesting combination, yes?)
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I just started about a month ago. I'm looking for a way to grow my online sales of violins and accessories, as well as looking for some way I can get more passive income that is not dependent on my geographical location -- especially now that I'm nearing 'retirement' age
.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
I'm looking for information on what works, and what doesn't, in IM.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
How to make money blogging.
BTW, I see that if I use your "preview" function, the post is rejected because there is not a CAPTCHA on that page. When I back up to enter the CAPTCHA, my edits go away. Fortunately, having been a professional programmer for over 30 years, I know how to work around such things, but you might want to have a word with your webmaster about fixing that usability problem.
Also, doesn't appear to work at all with Chrome browser...

I am Richard from the United Kingdom. I am one of the people that bought your instant adsense templates and was impressed by the level of service you and your staff provide.
I run a number of internet businesses the main one being a directory. I have managed to acheive a certain level of online success, but I am not where I need to be yet.
I believe I have been visiting your blog since I got to learn about you and after experiencing one of the best services from your company. Moreover benefitting from your product which did what it stated it would do. Your blog contains helpful information and also because you have developed the level of trust.
The kind of articles that I find interesting are the motivational ones and learning about your products and reccomendations.
Your full experience about the internet marketing orld would be a good topic to write about. The things you had to go through to get where you are today
1) Who are you and where are you from? Diana, living in East Texas.

4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you? Anything involved with a template for setting up a web site. The order of setting up.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be? It would be as above. Steps 1 through however many to completion of a new web page and site.
Have enjoyed articles I've read so far. Heard of you before I actual came to the blog. I believe the first time was through Affilorama.
Thanks.

John Sinclair - Europe and Canada
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have a number of sites but don't consider any of them a true business
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Visiting for about 1 year , receiving newsletters 5 months. I read to see if there really is a market for internet marketing or is it just full of wannabe internet marketers being lead by a few successful ones
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
I read everything it all has some interest. I like to read about true internet marketing dynamics that have substance not just stories about one man who wrote an article about making money on the internet and was an instant millionaire but no-one really knows what he sold or where he sold it. I get bored with the same old Joe Blow telling me he was a second hand car salesman in a dead end job, behind on the mortgage, behind on the car payments, no life and all stress, then BANG he discovers "internet marketing" and all is changed. Nobody with sense expects people to give their secrets away and for by 2 cents worth of research it seems that the way forward when you are making money online with a good idea, is to keep it to yourself until cash cow starts to drain, then talk about it enough and people will probably pay to know how... the problem at that point of course is by then it is not a new or good idea anymore. Cynical viewpoint I know but I have researched a lot of the successful internet marketers and have yet to much more than hype. I see a lot of the internet marketers in same way as I see the Sunday morning paid advertisement TV - same old story. That being said I do believe there are true professional internet marketers out there and your post last week was interesting because it highlighted the subtle but sometimes confused concept people can have with internet marketing in general.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
who are true internet marketers actually marketing, what are they marketing and are those individuals or corporations etc ongoing marketers or are they end users of the marketed product/service and if they are end users what is it they are using?
I would be interested on your take on Internet Marketing; what is it, what does it do, what does it produce, where does it all end... if it does.
I do understand that this is a wide subject but a broad answer of not more than 1,000 pages will do.... only joking but I am interested in your response.
Regards
John
My name is Tiffany Newman. I am the Client Development Coordinator at Jameson Management. Jim Quillen recommended that I read your book-Twitter power. That's how I came to know you. I enjoy reading any blogs you write on Social Media, marketing and sales.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Gerald Meloni from San Antonio, Texas. One of these days I am going to Marlon Sanders' favorite Starbuck's (I think I know which one it is) and try to have a private chat with him.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Mu current business is a CPA firm. (www.melonicpa.com) But I am currently working on my own product, a membership website that will be targeted to the small business owner who need direction in all things accounting, but can't afford to pay a CPA $150 an hour to hold his hand.
I tried to make money as an affiliate marketer, but have been unsuccessful so far.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Just started about 2 weeks ago, but I bought 2 of you books at Barnes & Noble, not the free ones you just gave away. I read it because you are highly respected in the IM world, and I hope to be able to make some money before I'm finished with my own product.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Articles that explain how to make money on the internet.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
You've probably already written it, but why do most IM Wannabes not make a dime on the internet?
1) I am Troy Rutter from Ames, IA
2) I am currently an employee at a web design / web application compamny. However I dabbled in Affiliate programs, Adsense and stay active in social media circles.
3) I first read The Adsense Code several years ago. Ive been subscribing to Top One since last September. I also purchased Elevate which I try and re-watch a session or two weekly. I enjoy reading and learning about companies like yours that are truly creative and are actually DOING something in the space.
4) I enjoy all the articles, but the ones I enjoy the most are the ones that relate to your business. For instance I loved the dot com story videos, and the peeks into your business atmosphere. They are very inspiring. I also enjoy the interviews such as a feature about eZineArticles with an interview with its founder, etc. These are very insightful.
5) I would like to hear a genuine case study (or studies) about say implementing adsense on something you are passionate about (the Joel Comm way) vs niche-hunting (like cashing in on "the latest thing.") Maybe a story on how your interest in _________ led you to build a site on it and leverage adsense ... etc. We all know the big one - video games - that led to Yahoo Games, but there must be more. Did you ever try chasing a niche you really weren't interested in and what were the results?
Thank you again for being "real" - it does make a difference.
Hi Joel,
Kristi Sayles here. I interviewed you for my
Talk with Experts show in Chicago at Ross Goldberg's
conference. It was a fun interview! I've used the
video to build my list-so thank you!
I'm a 2nd grade teacher that supplements my income with my
own software creations at SmartAuthor.com,
my blog at AskKristi.com and my Talk with Experts show.
I consider myself successful in many ways since I do make
"some" money on the net almost every day. Sometimes it's a little,
and sometimes it's a lot. (To a teacher anyway!)
But...I'm convinced that if I continue to read your blog
daily, as I've done for the past year, I'll do even better.
Maybe I'll be a millionaire-not just a "thousandaire." :)
Why do I read your blog?
Even though I'm extremely busy, I take time out to read it because
I trust you to tell the truth-even if it's not as profitable as fudging.
I like and respect you as a person and a marketer.
I'd like to see more articles about the new laws.
What changes do we need to make to be safe?
Hugs,
Kristi

Hey Joel,
Nice that you would bother to ask:
I am Debra Matthews - Originally from the UK but now live in South East Virginia USA
I am an Internet Business Broker with Quiet Light Brokerage- Specializing in representing income generating [exclusively] web based businesses for sale. We are doing very well establishing ourselves as a top resource for high quality, verifiable, web based business opportunities.
I also own a couple of sites myself and have been aware of you since I read AdSense Code in 2008 and your blog for a little over a year. I read and follow because you provide easy to follow, accurate, well researched information that helps me help my clients and has great value to my own businesses ventures too.
I especially enjoy articles about brand building, AdSense and marketing. If I could ask you to opine on anything, I would really like to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of starting from scratch vs. buying an existing web business.
Thanks for providing invaluable information and for keeping it easy to understand, honest and for asking who your readers are.
Cheers, all the best to you and your readers too.
Debra
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Eric Mueller, Lindenwold, NJ
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I've been writing a blog for more than 5 years, but never been able to find a niche or generate traffic. I'm considering creating an info product, but I don't want to try to pass off fluff. I might be making it harder than it needs to be.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
You started following me on Twitter last year, and I followed you back. You stopped following me during your purge I guess. I started following your blog within the last two weeks. I read it because your perspective is similar to mine and you seem to be successful. I want to start a business because I'm tired of working in cubicles (and too many other reasons to list here) and I'm hoping your perspective can help me.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
I haven't read many yet, so I can't comment.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
What it would take for somebody without an entrepreneurial mindset to develop one.
Hello Joel,
Mark P-R here, from Beautiful Beloit, Wisconsin.
Yes, Joel... I do have several websites that I do business from. I've been doing business online for the past decade, and love it. My most recent venture is distributing health machines that really helped me (that's why I decided to start distributing them). That website features the Original Sun Ancon Chi Machine (as seen on the Doctors TV show) - http://www.HealthChiProducts.com I also have several motivational poster websites featuring over 600 designs I have created over the years. My most popular is my Print-A-Poster website that features all of my designs sized as 5"x7" mini-posters, and available for Free immediate print-out. It's very popular. http://www.Print-A-Poster.com
I've been involved reading your materials since back in the day when you opened your "AdsenseChat" forum (4-5 years ago). I love to keep up with your thoughts about business online. You have helped me earn literally thousands of extra dollars - Thanks so much!
I personally prefer articles that express your intuition as to where the course of doing business online is heading in the future. I want to stay forward looking.
As far as writing about one thing... I guess I'd like to hear more about your early days when you were negotiating the sale of your gaming business. How did you as a less experienced entrepreneur deal with the big boys?
Anyway, Joel... thanks for asking our input. I will continue to monitor this thread to find out more about the fans you've gained over the years.
You are an inspiration...
Hi Joel,
I found you a long time ago (years!) when I first got into internet marketing. You and Eric H. had a template product for getting web real estate. I remember staring at the files I pulled up on my computer wondering what the hell to do with them. I think it took my 3 days to figure out how to watch the videos. Seems funny now...
Anyway, the main thing was - I understood pretty quick that you knew your stuff, and I wanted to learn from you. You continue to deliver! That is why I visit your site and want to know what's rolling around in your head. Besides, you're a fellow Colorado person so that gives you extra brownie love!
Kindly,
Diane
Hi Joel,
Michelle Hoffmann from River Falls, WI here. I am a photographer, website designer, writer, internet marketer and I own and publish The 24KaratMarketer Ezine and have been doing so since January 2001.
I stumbled across your blog a couple of weeks ago and have been checking in every so often to get great information and advice.
I am Tami Stodghill and am from Florida, now living winters only here and the other 1/2 of the year in Page-Lake Powell, Arizona. We own a home-based business in which we do all of our marketing on the internet. We are Wealth Masters consultants who sell the wealth creation and debt elimination products as well as the business opportunity. We have experienced great success so far and were able to quit our full time jobs of almost 20 years. I started visiting your blog after purchasing your "Twitter Power" book. Social media and marketing articles are, obviously, the most helpful. I am always up to learn something new from an industry "guru". If I could have you write about one thing.....internet marketing. I would say karma, because your take it on would be interesting, but being practical here....
Great questions, Joel!
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Eric M. Larson from Eagan, Minnesota (a suburb on the south side of the Twin Cities); "emlarson" on Twitter and most other places. The tiny bio is "Husband, father, podcaster at Ericast.com, Academic Technology Consultant at a big private university."
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
No Internet business (yet). I've got a passion to "support learning" using technology (where appropriate) and I've always wanted to start a "video production for the little guy" business, but that market is a lot more saturated (thus, in my opinion, healthier -- I want to see the "end" and don't care if I'm the "means" to it) than it was 6 or 7 years ago when I first started working on that idea.
"Success" in this "social media" world has an interesting measure; it's all about engagement and conversation, but the reality is that most "engaged" people don't actually contribute, so you have no measure of how many are truly engaged and how many aren't. Look at this post; when I started writing this entry there were 18 comments (probably a few more by now) and that was two hours after Joel posted his Tweet about the post. I'm betting that in those two hours there were a whole lot more than 18 hits to this post. Yet, most people didn't take the time to comment -- to share their views and to get the ear of THE Joel Comm. Why is that? Same thing with my podcast; even though it's a really casual one, I know I do have a few dozen listeners out there, yet I get almost no calls to the "listener feedback line." Does that mean I've "failed"? I don't think so... but I think we need to keep talking about what "success" means when we're trying to engage people in a conversation and build a community (where we don't have the advantage of selling widgets and counting the dollars that come in as a metric).
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Probably 3 or 4 years; I keep up with you, Joel, because you're one of the "big players" with a proven track record and decent personal character, so when I want to refresh myself on what's happening in internet marketing I can refocus on where you're at as a "thought leader" and get caught up-to-date on recent trends.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Anything that talks about internet marketing for something "real"; I'm so burned out on the usual hype out there of "Check out my product launch on how you can make money on product launches!" or "Use Twitter to learn how you can make money using Twitter!" or whatever. Making money by telling people that they can make money by telling people that they can make money is lame.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Personally, I like hearing about people's values and beliefs and what makes them "them" -- not 100% of the time, and not "My dog just ate a second bowl of dog food!", but something that gives insight into the people behind the site/marketing/book/project/product. Don't forget that side of yourself!
Hi Joel,
Ron Matthews here from Boston. Remember me from Elevate 2008? I'm the physicist/energy medicine practitioner.
I'm in the process of building an internet business. I'm not in a position to do much affiliate selling at this point because I'm intensely involved in developing my own stuff. Why? Because there is very little available on the web that deals with the issue of Energy Medicine/Energy Healing. Most of what IS available is not very good, in my opinion.
I've been reading your blog and been on your list for about three years, if my memory serves me.
Regarding what kinds of articles are most helpful, I find all of your stuff useful. You're one of those people in the IM space who seem committed to adding value to your readers and that comes through in the articles you write.
Since I'm on the eve of launching my first real business on the web, probably the one thing that would be interesting to have you write about is growth strategies.
For example, my business model is a membership site that provides high-quality, video-based instruction on how Energy Medicine can be self-applied by a non-specialist. I'd like to have some sense of how to develop a business road map going forward. That's what I mean by growth strategies.
Thanks!
Ron Matthews

2) Yeah, just started building Internet businesses (offline products, marketing everything online). Since Jan 2010, I've done 5.
Only the 1st was a flop---"no one gets it right in the first jump".
2nd's a Singapore Otah, dealing with wholesale BBQ in Singapore (it's an instant hit, and we aren't doing offline marketing yet), the remaining 3 are an expansion of my parents' already existing businesses (The Mannequin Shop, The Hanger Shop, The Hair Wig Shop). Currently building up on my 6th, which is a web hosting in Singapore under the name of AGrowthMedia.
All is good. :)
3) You caught my attention with The Next Internet Millionaire show---I remembered waiting days for each new episode to be aired on the site.
4) I was wondering how the long sales letter thing came about. Oh! And ... (this next suggestion should appear better in #5)
5) Please do share out on how you grew an audience prior to the Facebook and Twitter era. Donald Trump mentioned something once about a business can still be built without the use of the mobile phone. Yeah, a post or two about that would be neat. :)
Keep in contact Joel.
Hi Joel,
I am Isabelle from Long Island, NY, and I run a VA website, recently launched. I signed on for your daily email to learn how to Twitter to my advantage.
Hi Joel -
One thing I need to do more of is give - and ask for comments on my website. Thank you for this post!
Viv
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Jonathan, Editorial Assitant at Chandos Publishing. We're based in Witney, Oxfordshire, UK (30 min away from Oxford!)
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
You could say that. We're in the business of publishing books, so naturally we do have a website where are our readers can browse and shop online. Sometimes I wish we didn't have to discount so heavily with Amazon and drive more traffic to our on site for readers to buy the books they like.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Nov. 2009. I was interested in the free chapters you offered about Twitter. We had a pretty dormant twitter account until I took hold of it! I've enjoyed several of your postings about blogs and how your own model of book distribution has succeeded.
1) Who are you and where are you from? Cindy from Gilbert AZ
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success? Yes, I'm just starting an internet biz....in the development stage. My measured level of success would be navigating through all the web technology, social media, pulling it all together. Challenging and frustrating
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Just started reading your blog, as I'm hoping to educate myself and continue learning. I find your entries lengthy, and I'm a big controller of my time.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
I find everything relative to business online helpful. Much of it is beyond the current state of my business, yet very helpful for future planning. Social media and technology related topics helpful.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Simplify technology, speak in layman's terms; illustrate a solid social media plan; continued education about social media.

Im a blogging entrepreneur have a online business and blog. Live in Mass.
Visiting your blog for few months. I find any article within blogging, social media, SEO traffic tips, community building and any psoyt that makes me laugh..lol
Hello there,
My name is Mariam Cisse. I'm a 25 year old would-be online editor from Berlin/Germany. Currently I'm studying informationmanagement and communications, too.
Yet, I have no real internet business because I just started blogging a few months ago. But I'm working on turning my blog into a business, where I provide my knowledge of offline taktics like positioning or branding and editorial work to an international audience of bloggers. I try to show them how they can implement these things in order to improve their skills and their blog.
Success to me is when I can improve my own skills each and every day. Also being able to help some of the bloggers is a success, too. So I think I can be successful.
As an example: I was focusing on a german audience. I wrote articles and published them in german. But I got noticed by the english speaking ones too. And now I was offered to be a monthly contributor on BFP. I think I din't got to that point, by not working on myself and my blog.
I subscribed to your newsletter just a few days ago. Maybe 2 weeks? First I joined The Secret Classroom and watched all the videos. This was really impressive, energizing and inspirating. I din't had a clue of who you are actually before I joined. Sorry about that, but I was quite new to this whole blogging thing. But I liked what I saw and decided to check out your blog.
BTW: I really love The Secret Classroom. Now I'm actually watching some of the videos the third time...
I like case studies, too. To me it's important to see something growing, being able to comprehend a situation or a process makes it easier for me to learn and implement things. I enjoy posts providing good information. Well written in a plain stile maybe a bit of humor in it and not too long. I hate posts that keep me scrolling for about 10 min! Either split them or shorten it, but do not make me work too much! To me that's a sense of usability.
I really would enjoy you writing about usability. How to provide users with good content, selling products without making them think. How, when and where to place a call to action without destroying the usability of your blog?
This post made me think a lot and I actually spent about half an hour on writing it. But that's good. And I really like your teaser;) Simple question, but not simple to answer!
Joel,
Joseph Ratliff here from Lacey, WA.
I'm a direct response copywriter, and online marketing strategy consultant for both online and offline businesses.
I visit your blog only rarely (not because of you)...and have your Click Here To Order book and read that cover to cover several times.
I would like to read more entrepreneurship-style articles, not the "get started" type, but for a more seasoned entrepreneur.
I read, but don't understand, much of what you are talking about because I am a newcomer to the web. I did change some of the placement and styles of google ads and that did help a bit with the clicks and such, but nothing super significant.
Sadly, I think someone may need to be way more proficient with the internet marketing subject in and of itself to practically use much of what is written about or talked about, but maybe that's just me because I'm a newcomer.
It would be GREAT if I could be used maybe even as a case study for whatever your next ebook or book or whatever is to show a step by step guide of leading an internet marketing and google ad idiot into at least the 20th century and, with any luck, into the 21st.
I need help "monetizing" I think is the word, my site. Nobody in my area seems to know how to do this, so I look to your information and others to help me out, and it has just a little bit don't get me wrong, but when I have no frame of reference, it is a HUGE uphill battle trying to take it all in and understand what it means and then, how to actually put it into practice.
Again, I am a novice, and making pennies a day when I get about 2000 visitors per day as of late tells me I'm doing something wrong. I know 2000 per day won't make me rich, but it should make me something I would guess.
I have gleaned some information from you and others, but I know enough to realize there is MUCH that I don't understand, and I'm just not certain I ever will. Thank you for writing and putting out your stuff, good way to get people to interact with you and your business for sure by doing this.
I just need help, and don't want to pay thousands to make a hundred if that makes sense. Thank you for your time, and I'm open to be your case study at your convenience!)
Hi everyone -
I'm Marijo Tinlin and I live in Boulder County. I have a website I've been running for about 8 months called www.teachingyourtoddler.com. I have been building organic traffic and run AdSense but I'm not making any money yet. I've learned a TON about building websites and content marketing through this site however.
I have read twitter power, The AdSense Code and I've been skimming the e-books you've recently sent out. I subscribe to Top One Report, which I LOVE; started getting that probably last summer. I dog-ear almost every page, it seems.
The best article in the lastest issue is the Web Design Health Check-Up article - fabulous! I follow Joel on Twitter and I read the blog sporadically. I do visit www.joelcomm.com pretty frequently and I'm a part of the Top One Network.
The one article or series of articles I would like to see would be around the legal side of anything internet-related, such as copywrite laws, laws affecting blogs, website content, etc. I realize this isn't legal advice, but at least it would help know what's ok and what's risky in terms of content building as well as what's protected (or not). Thanks for listening. Trying to do good stuff.
1) My name is Brad Anderson and I live in Ottertail, MN.
2) I have owned and managed several usergroup websites, but am currently interested in better using internet marketing for personal services and our scrapbooking retreat (http://www.leafriverretreat.com).
3) I just found you on LinkedIn and reconnected. It's been years since we've collaborated--goes back to the good ol' World Village days. I've enjoyed your twitter and blog posts immensely.
4) I like any articles and help to expand the box that we tend to put ourselves in. I like the "thinking outside the box" attitude to push innovations forward.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be? How can internet marketing be more focused and have a better ROI than traditional advertising venues for small business?
Read yours and many other emails every day. Most are selling or 'marketing' their latest dream machine!!
Don't they realize that some of us, like myself, are making LOTS of money; but aren't busy promoting it or how?
Life is much more simple than many of these promotional emails project, then attempt to 'close' every warm email!
Disturbing to say the least.
Thank you,
Ross
Joel,
My name is Bryan Jones and I live in Ohio. I have a wife and 11 children. Yes, I said 11 children (see here => My Family.)
I have my own internet businesses. I have a blog where I review products and services www.TheHonestBusinessman.com and I have a solo ad service I run at www.DiscountSoloAds.com.
I also do some web design and I'm trying to break into the offline market more, teaching offline businesses internet marketing principles that will help their businesses.
I have had some success but I'm not as successful as I want to be. I don't know if the current economy is contributing but my income has been down the past few months.
I have been reading your information off and on for the past 5 years.
What most interests me now is legitimate information on traffic and conversions.
There's so much junk out there about generating traffic I'm not sure what to believe, so I'm more interested in your recommendations on those two subjects - generating traffic and increasing conversions.
I just finished watching Mari Smith's presentation on Facebook and was blown away! Clearly social media can generate a lot of traffic, and therefore business to our websites.
The problem is most of us do not have a mailing list with thousands of names on it. If we did, we could leverage Facebook, Twitter and so on to generate even more traffic.
I am working on my two websites: http://realkidsphotography.com and http://all-things-aviation.com all of the time, but the traffic is slow.
My opinion? Traffic requires a lot of work to acquire, but it is definitely worth the effort! And, I don't think there is any magic pill or program to make it happen overnight!

Hi Joel,
I'll gladly answer your questions.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Carlos Gonzalez. I presently live in San Diego (well..actually one of the outlying areas and not San Diego proper).
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Hmm...I am trying to have an internet business. Haven't made much yet so not much success. Have tried to build Adsense sites and it's been a hard road to go. Peanut earnings or none at all from the sites. Reaching top ten ranking but the traffic based on Google's Keyword Tool isn't materializing. Too early to tell on other sites. Too much work for too little pay.
Have shifted focus to creating valuable lists and promoting affiliate offers like Hostgator through them. Now struggling with the technical side of building a list (can't afford Aweber so it's roll my own or modify existing autoresponders like Infinite Response. Not a big deal since I am PHP proficient but just time consuming).
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I've been getting your newsletter about 4 months I think. Why do I read it? Hmmm...you have a way of saying things that interests me. What I mean by that is that you are real. Not a hyped up internet marketer. You don't try and hide. I like that. It makes for more interesting reading.
You don't try and sell me something with every newsletter/blog post. I like that too. It's a welcomed relief! You come across like a real guy, struggling with real life issues that I can relate to.
I don't always find your blog posts interesting. Sometimes they are a tad boring. But I will usually read them anyway. Posts from real people, being real will tend to have some boring posts in there once in a while so don't sweat it Joel.
I don't consider you to be on the cutting edge of internet marketing by the way. You come across as more of a internet marketer who is not cutting edge. Don't know why that is exactly. I guess because you don't often talk about secrets, and making wads of money, overnight success, and other such things. Maybe it's because you've published some books or something as opposed to ebooks or otherwise. I'll have to think about that some.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
The interest that got me to come to your blog in the first place was Adsense. Now that interest is diminishing. I am now much more interested in how to build lists, how to sell things to that list. How often to email them, what autoresponder to use, how to keep writing list articles and not run out of things to say, etc..
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Riding an empire of lists to achieve internet success. But more than that...since I pretty much know how to do it in all honesty...having you share any personal experiences of your own list building ups and downs that might encourage me to keep going with mine. Personal stories from your own life about list building. If you have any.
What motivated you to start hiring employees. Why you felt the need to do so.
I'd like to automate things so I don't ever have to get entangled in employee hiring. In that sense your experience is not one I can or even want to relate to or imitate per se.
If you are not into list building...then personal stories of how you built this blog. Why you do what you do when you send out an email announcing a new blog post. How you come up with ideas to write about. The types of comments you get and how you deal with them. In short...all things related to how you built a successful blog from start to the present. Not so much a how to as in a manual of instructions but rather your personal stories of what it was/is like.
I hope that makes sense.
Carlos
1) Who are you and where are you from?
I am in Seattle Joel. Michael Hartzell but most recently they are calling me Big Loser Mike at www.biglosermike.com
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have an online presence to complement and support my offline business. People walk and live in the dirt, grass and pavement. Using the virtual world as a tool to enhance this keeps people smiling. (We aren't the Matrix quite yet) :)
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Over a year now Joel. I read it because you have a different spin and usually ahead of the curve just a bit. However... as everyone, I have dozens (and dozens) of emails / RSS and thus I too scan titles and do not read as many as you would like. If something connects with my current need? I grab it. If not? I save it for later. (never delete so that should make you smile)
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Latest trends / tools / bizarre events / risks and how they will apply to the current market. You have a knack to see between the lines and help to connect it to others. Too many business owners do not have the time to read feel good dialogue nor do they want to spend time research. CNET offers a buffet of software with rating but it is generalized.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Stop for a second. Life is not so simple. That is partially my point of www.biglosermike.com. Each day changes dramatically. One thing? hmmmm. How about this Joel. Why don't you tackle the core reasons of perceived barriers to creating an online business success? Not the symptoms everyone sees. Once the perceived barriers are removed? A man such as yourself could turn the tide of unemployment person by person, group by group.
More importantly. What is your mission? Your vision? Is your next step to change the world? Write about that. Interested in what battle / war / mission you take on next.
I appreciate what you do. Let me know if you want more. Happy to connect.
@michaelhartzell
Hi Joel,
My name is Jermaine and i am from California, Bay Area! I have been reading your blog for about 2 years now and your book, "The Adsense Code" was the first book i stumbled upon when i got into internet marketing. Pretty crazy, and since then i've been passionate about this field. It took me a while to get it going because i kept getting sidetracked but, i finally have establish a blog:
www.ultimatestudents.com
My blog is all about reaching out to students and giving them practical lessons and tips on how to live responsible, organized, and successful lives. Most student blogs are about money, financial, doing well in school and i felt that it was pretty much saturated. So after reading another article, i decided that i'd have to get into this market of students and write articles from a different angle.
Anyways, thanks again for all your inspiring articles! I always enjoy reading them and i always get motivated to push myself to work for something i desire. Thanks!
Hi
I'm Simon from Wolverhampton UK
I have a couple of information websites which I have tried to apply your adsense secrets to with some success (ie increased ctr etc.)
I enjoy reading your blog as it is straightforward and not full of BS.
I must say I find you programme very interesting, as an Enginer handling multi million contracts, I am completely ignorant when it comes to advertising.Presently I have a patented brick that can revoluationize the building industry. A total amature can build a luxuary home for a very reasonable price. My biggest problem I do not have any idea how to advertise the product successfully.
I recently built a complex using my patent brick & the cost per sq meter was very low about 30% of the normal cost.
David Reynolds, ex-journalist and one-time reviewer for the Sacramento Book Review (I read and commented on "Twitter Power") from the great Sacramento, Calif. area here.
My interest is learning more about social media as it applies to marketing communications. I want to generate more traffic to my communications blog with the goal of eventually turning that traffic into a marketing communications job.
Hi Joel,
My name is Andrew from Houston, TX. I have a standard bricks and mortar podiatry practice. I am in the process of starting an internet info business geared towards medical professionals. I've been following you for some time, but rarely read your blog. I have received the Top One report for the past 5 months and read it cover to cover at least twice. Love the action items spelled out for us.
I do enjoy the goal oriented articles, simple tech topics, and profiles. I would love to see more about creation of info products and launches.
I'm featuring your newsletter to my mastermind group as a "must have" resource"
Keep it up!
Andrew
Damn! I thought you were going to ask if I would like you to post a comment on MY blog. But it's only fair, after a couple years of reading your posts that I leave one on yours, huh?
I read it for ideas and for facts about what works, what doesn't, when selling via the internet.
What I would like more of is how to spread the word (in this case, an alternative to the traditional tit-for-tat approach to marriage building) and (perhaps you are not the one to ask about this -- yet) how to get useful feedback from those who are listening. This would be in addition to all the great stuff you offer on how to get them to support my devotion to this mission financially.
And what would you like to know about great marriages and life partnerships?
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Steve ward from Hamilton Ohio
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
not at the moment working on my next one now, my own success has not been bad so far im not money free yet but im working on it
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
a long time, to learn a little bit here a little be there
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
not sure nothing comes to mind yet
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
dont know
I'm looking for co-conspirators (founding participants) for using a simple online process (ASK4) to solve global issues and share the created value and revenue of a self-governed innovation community (U-Netted Nations). It is a means to re-purpose both the process and the content that is wasting away in the loose threads of multiple social network conversations - and to turn them into "Collaboration On Purpose". I read everything I can find about process improvement and affiliate remuneration (trading common sen$e for non-sense).
Hi Joel,
My name is Angela Crocker and I own a company called Beachcomber Communications based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. (Yes, the site of the 2010 Olympics). I originally started the company to work as a consultant on marketing, fundraising and event planning projects. In reality, I spend about 80% of my time working as a social media coach for small businesses, not for profits, writers, theatre companies and other artistic people or organizations. I work with these clients one-on-one and in group classroom situations. I measure my success on my rising status as a go-to person for social media questions both locally and further afield. I first got acquainted with your work about a year ago when I purchased Twitter Power and started dropping in on your blog. After I while I realized that you have become one of my go-to-experts for new ideas, innovations and advice so I subscribed to your newsletter sometime last fall, I think. I find lessons in much of what you write ... and we share a teachable moment approach to our life experiences so I would guess our learning and teaching styles are similar. Beyond what you write already, I'd be interested to hear more about interesting people you meet.
With thanks for all that you've shared,
Angela

Hi, my name is Hari and i am a regular reader of your posts. I must say i have learnt a lot from your blog and your ebook about google adsense.
I am a blogger as well but my blog is more of a journal than to create revenue. But I am planning to host a website (actually a blog). I'm planning to do my MBA this year and my new blog would (hopefully) be my view of the business world and its intricacies, and my way to network with millions of other people (MBA students) in the business world. And if things go well, I would like to make some revenue out of it for the occasional beer!!
If you ask me what i really really love to read is about anything that helps me to stand out from the crowd. For example, the Presentation Zen and Made to Stick are two books that i've read more than 2 times.
Looking forward to reading more fun stuff here.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Je m'appelle Guy LINIER et je vis en France, près de Paris

Oui, je travaille sur Internet , j'ai environ 200 sites avec des annonces Adsense qui me rapportent tous les mois. J'ai également créé un Club pour former sur Adsense.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Ca fait environ 1 an que je lis votre blog et vos newsletters parce que j'ai beaucoup appris grĂ¢ce Ă votre ebook Adsense
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Tout ce qui est pratique, concret avec des exemples
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Adsense
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Hey Joel, no introductory about me is necessary, you know who I am. :)
Dan Nickerson's buddy of 12 years or so now. You keep him so busy I hardly get to chat to the guy...lol
But glad he's having fun all the same, you come across a good guy to work for.
Any ways, Who am I (just so your readers know)...
Loz Lawn, 35 years old. 36 end of April. Man, time sure flys by. Is it me, or what, but doesn't there seem to be that many hours in the day as one gets older? Or am I just slowing down...lol
I'm from the U.K. Hertfordshire, 45 miles North East of London. Spent most of my life there. But was born in Australia, N.S.W.
I'm what is referred to as a "Aus-POM" :) (dual nationality)
2a) Do you have an Internet business?
Yup, serveral, some not as good as others, but I guess you know that not all ideas pan out the way one hopes, but always moving on to other ideas, projects... Mainly now I'm in the industry of helping others.
2b) If so, what is it all about?
My current one is: Forex Signal Mentor at http://forexsignalmentor.com
I help a group of people, currently around 168 so far to learn the Foreign Exchange Industry by trading currency pairs such as EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, etc, etc, using all sorts of Technicial Analysis strategies to predict where the Currency Pair will end up after entering the market based on BUY or SELL Signals that are created using some of my techniques to spot these entries.
Over 90% of my students are new to the ForEx Industry, and I'm extremely proud of each and everyone of them, they're doing quite well taking into consideration their experience level.
It gives me a sense of achievement that I have helped another person to find something else to fall back on since we're in such bad shape globally regarding our Economic status, with U.S.A alone hitting 10.1% or so in unemployment, another 4% or so more and they'll be where Germany was about 10 years ago with one of the highest unemployment rates in the world at that time.
2c) What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
It's hard to pin point that to a degree of saying how do they compare to me, but I will say this.
They do learn very quickly, while others not as quick. I offer 1-on-1 help (mentoring), which comprises of emotional control, ie, over greed, and how to reward ones self if a job done well, and also to learn how to stay on keel if one were to make a mistake. I love encouraging people and letting them know that it's ok to make a mistake; as it's all apart of the learning process.
Once they get out of their normal shell of being timid and hestitate, their true potential really blossoms and shows in their work / results as they make each new trade.
I have students now as in a little as a couple of months who are on live accounts, trading real money and doing well at that too.
So I guess, with the level of committment I am showing my students, unlike some Marketing Guru's who have a tendancy to leave you in the arms of their support guys, but don't really offer the true support / coaching that most of those who come to the internet for the first time to learn a trade, really need. Some, just ignore you after a while, quite annoying. I wish there was a new level standard that these I.M people would ahere to, rather than treating them like some gold mine knowing that over 90% of people who buy products will never follow through.
I remember reading your article the other day how you were quite upset to the fact that one guy you left unnamed was not worried about knowing that they wont follow through on buying the guys product. I hear ya.
I'm always on the case with my students, giving them that extra nudge of encouragement, and keeping it real. "You bought the product, NOW, take action. If you want to be like those who constantly make money, put some time to one side... And I'll promise ya I'll be there by your side to help you"...
I rarely see others always on the case to their customers to ask them "are you taking action? or did you just waste the $67, $97, $1997 product you just bought, you know, you would of been better off giving it to charity, like waterislife.com I'm sure Ken Surritte would appreciate it"
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Since inception, not all the time, quite busy mostly, but I like reading ya blog cos you're always out there and about, doing your seinmars, showing your sense of humour, i guess it's like reading the local gossip column of a newspaper, generally most of the time it's entertaining.
So keep up the good work :)
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
To be honest, I know a lot about Marketing as it is, but it's good to pop by and read up on other tips that I may of missed from time to time whether that be Marketing, or something you have picked up on the way to the air port and noticed something of interest that could spark a product idea, or how to get more followers to your twitter account - which coincidently I have a new project up and running very soon, I've told Dan about it, maybe he'll pass it on to ya to check out, I think you'l like it :)
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Well, you know Joel, I like the videos you do. I know you have a camera guy, et al, but I would like to see more tips and tricks, software one uses for Windows, compression software, and what have you. Most of the stuff I do, product wise are in video format and I'd like to learn how to create better presentations for home pages, or even review products like Lon Taylor has.
If you can tap into the brain of your camera guy, that would be most awesome.
Keep up the good work
All the best

I don't know if I have an Internet business as much as an internet playground. Maybe sound day I will have a more real business... at least that is a dream of mine. What I do have is BananaForce.com, where I spill out ideas that come to my mind, concepts, some work, some fail, but at least I get them out there. It doesn't create much income.
I read this blog cause I like the concept of an internet business and I think there can be good info here sometimes.
I enjoy the nuts and bolts articles as well as the motivational kind.
I would like you to write about how to promote your internet business. So if you start something new, how do you get folks to know it is out there.
Q: Who are you and where are you from?
A: Barbie Iman, Southern California
Q: Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
A: www.KidsThatRide.com is a community resource/free forum dedicated to BUY/SELL/TRADE used sports equipment on a local level within each county in the United States.
A: Every single time I get a new member I feel a rush of success!
Q: How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
A: About 2 weeks because I need help!
Q: What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
A: ALL OF THEM! I am brand new and learn something everyday from your articles. Even this post today gave me the idea to send out a Q&A to my existing members!
Q: If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
A: Free resources in marketing. Being a free forum I need ways to let communities know our services are available to them.
I've been reading your blog for a few months now. I'm exploring ways to monetize my online experience as well as build a better blog and promote my business.
I'm a Realtor, Attorney, and former sitcom writer. My desire is to drive traffic to my websites in order to develop new clients. I am also putting the finishing touches on a nonfiction book (humor category) which I plan to self publish and would like a stream of potential buyers. I guess that means I need a way to capture emails from online visitors.

Hi Joel,
My name is Neb and I am from Victoria, BC...
I wouldn't say that I have an Internet business. I am just trying to make some cash with affiliate marketing. I would say that I have no success in doing so.
I am reading your blog for some time now. I was hoping to learn more and maybe find out what mistakes I'm making in affiliate marketing. Also, maybe I am missing some other good ideas that could benefit me.
I like the articles that are more to the point or even step by step guides from ones personal experience.
I would enjoy a more in depth explanation of Twitter or maybe a road map to Twitter automation as much as it's legal.
Cheers!
Neb
how make money online with adsense joel.....until now, im never understand. how can i make that money and how can i get many visitor in my blog joel
Hi Joel:
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Steve from Pittsburgh, PA
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
No and Yes. I have a business that has a web presence. I earn a very small amount from that web site from Google Adsense. My earnings improved when I bought your book AdSense Secrets a year ago, but I am not getting what I want.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Over a year for the newsletter, occasionally for the blog. I want solid tips
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
How to maximize income
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Solid information about attaching niches 9in my case technical niches) and not about IM sites. I am bombarded by people who want to sell me their course on how to be an IM selling IM stuff - not interested. Not interested in selling the same old acne, ringtones, etc etc etc stuff.
Hey, great to read all of the replies, here's mine.
Steve from Arlington, Texas.
I run several "internet businesses" including www.gmtruckclub.com and www.gmpartsclub.com - I get a couple million visitors per year and maybe will hit 10 million pageviews for 2010 on these.
I also manage Search Marketing and SEO for a fortune 500 company that everyone reading this in the US has heard of before.
I got hooked on Joel's stuff back with "The Adsense Code", whenever that was, 2006?
I'll read anything that's practical and helpful these days. Looking for higher-level and deeper content about building social relationships and marketing.
Write about current trends and what they mean for social-oriented websites.
My name is Brad Fuller from The Woodlands Texas. I have a website that is mostly content about camping. I haven't tried to sell anything yet, but might later on. I have been doing the website for almost two years and had hoped to be able to make some money from Google Adsence and affiliate marketing. I guess because of the nature of the website, I don't get a lot of traffic so therefore don't make much on the ads. I need more information on how to drive traffic to the website. Maybe I need a different website? I have been visiting your blog for a few months now and have read most of your book on Adsence. I have a few of your other books that I need to read. By the way, I have a blog on my website that gets a fair amount of traffic. As you said in this blog, not many people leave comments.
Hi Joel.
My Name is Mike Conway from Colorado Springs, Co. I'm currently building a publishing company focusing on role-playing games and fantasy fiction.
I've been reading your blog off and on for a while now, and I do because you seem to really know your stuff, and I like your point of view.
The one thing I'd like to see you write about, if you haven't already, is how to solicit information from others. In playtesting one of my games, I've had trouble getting just the right input on one part of it. It's the part I'm least confident about, but on one wants to talk about it, no matter how much I beg.
I'm also writing a speech on a certain subject, and it's a simple question I'm asking, but I can't get a direct response on the subject, just a lot of conjecture and philosophy. No real answers.
Hope this helps you.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Hi! My name is Cheryl, I'm a granny from Sussex, UK, a career parent and part time menial.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
No. I'd love to, but not doing what you do. Too many wannabe gurus out there now I think, and too easy to grab half of what a real expert says and reproduce it badly and join the Dark Side of Internet Marketing without even meaning to. For instance I started following you on twitter yesterday and increased my total twitter following by 50% in what felt like 20 minutes. All of them were small business promoters who added me thinking that because I followed you, I must be one of their own kind and up for a bit of back-scratching and reciprocal list building; or at least could as a potential punter. All power to them, but en mass they inadvertently say irritating things about the whole concept.
I think I'd suck at internet marketing just as much, because I have so much to learn. Product or service, first.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Initially why - curiosity, heard something a year or three back about you being on some entrepreneurial TV show in the US, your information & guidance was the prize? It put you on my mental list of people it would probably be good to follow. Then I found you on Facebook and joined your page, signed up for your newsletter (don't know when). I signed up for loads of newsletters and it took me a while to sift them and chuck out the formulaic ones. I read your blog for the first time the other day.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
The last one you wrote. Genius. Restored my faith because quite honestly the loudest sector is the 'Dark Side' and I was feeling harangued, especially on facebook. Like trying to run to the shops and buy something with all the friendly little stall holders hitting me over the head screaming 'buy mine' - made me want to go home empty handed just for the silence.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Oh PLEASE just keep doing what you do. Keep on injecting more of your humour and your sensible, rational, professionalism into this game, give people a sense of balance and an understanding that there is room for personal growth and social responsibility and honesty. Just be you. You are on the other side of this huge learning curve and you can see what needs to be said better than we can. You have the advantage of 'height'.
Short version of that: not a clue.
I'm sorry if that's no help!
My name is Kimberly Lowe, and I am technologically challenged. No really it's quite sad. I have purchased your book "How to Build a Profitable Website Fast" and "Adsense Secrets 4". The information was quite useful. Unfortunately, it has taken me some time to figure it all out. I read your blogs almost every day because I feel like you are probably the only one out there who really wants to help people make a better life. Some day I will get my website up and running. But until then I'm still working out the kinks and goofing off with it!!
My name is "Jay" from Atlanta, Ga.
I have several websites selling physical products, a blog or two on internet marketing, and teach when someone will pay me :-)
Perseverance is not my problem--stagnation and boredom are. I can get started on marketing several "profitable niches" only to run out of steam--just can't seem to keep interested in so many, sometimes unrelated things.
I would like to hear more about making fewer things work well, rather than dozens of subjects that require tons of social networking to see any success. Quality not quantity.
If you can address those issues, along with ways to be rewarded with more income doing those things, you have a happy camper...:-)
Hi Joel,
it worked! What was the trick to bring more comments besides deliberately asking for them?

Hi Joel:
My name is Linda and I run my own marketing consulting business for small businesses, and I also have appromixately 30 different domains in different niches that I own that I try to promote as well. I live in Central Florida.
I read your blog because I have actually heard you speak at a conference I went to in Orlando - JV Alert. You were one of the more down to earth people there among the presenters. I like the laid back tone of your blog and how you don't try to sell, sell, sell. You don't send out emails saying "hey, my buddy so-and-so has a great product that I just know you'll love."
You have surrounded yourself with a creative team, something that I hope to do someday.
Linda
Hi,
My name is Peter Hupuczi and I'm from the UK. I have few eBooks what I'm selling on my website what I have made my self. I'm just started to build my internet business and I have made few sales already. I feel I have to learn so much more to make everything work smooth.
I have watched the DVDs from the O2 Bootcamp back in 2009 where I have saw you in live so after I have put your name in to the "brain" (Google) and found your blog. As a blog owner, I have went back for the very first post of yours and started to read them just to get some ideas how to maintain a good blog. I think I'll come back often to see what's going on.
By the way the presentation what you have made for the O2 Bootcamp ( The Upside down thing ) it was really cool! Loved It.
P.S.: I know my English is not the best but hopefully everyone can read my post :)
All the best
Peter
Hi Joel
I am Vanessa from South Africa - living on one of the most beautiful parts of the coast, near Cape Town. I was retrenched from my job as Business Analyst /IT manager in the middle of last year. I prefer to say "I gained my freedom" rather than "I lost my job" because only since I have been set free from the Corporate world, I have started to live.
While I was still working at my job I fiddled around on the web a bit in my spare time and started a South African hoax busting website called Soetkoek.com. (I am a big fan of Snopes). As far as I am aware Soetkoek.com is the only fully bilingual website in the two languages most used in this country (Afrikaans and English). The two sides of the site mirror each other.
When I started the site I was playing around and did not give much attention to anything other than playing with graphics and animations and busting some South African hoaxes. I stuck some Google ads on it and made a few (very few) Rands in a month.
When I got retrenched I tried many ways to make a bit of money from Adsense to no avail. I struggled to figure out how to make Google Analytics work for me and I struggled to understand the stats and I struggled to understand channels and then, just a few weeks ago I was googling for info on how to create an e-book and stumbled across a link advertising that you were giving your Adsense Secrets e-book away for free. I thought it was going to be another one of those e-books that keep on telling about the book and what it can do but never gets around to the actual topic, but rather sends you to a link to buy the "full version". Anyway, I decided to take a chance and was very pleasantly surprised when I started reading.
After having read every help-file about Adsense on Google, and not finding out much about how to push up my earnings, your book was so welcome. I have started redoing some pages of my site using your tips, and I will soon see how much difference it makes (I still have to get to the part in the book about tracking and channels, and I can't wait).
I read your blog because you write about topics that interest me, but I haven't left a comment yet because I've had nothing of interest to say.
What would I like you to write about? You already have... your Adsense book was the one that I was waiting for. Thank you so much. Rock on!!
Hi Joel,
I am Rick from Indianapolis, IN. I have an online day trading site at www.efuturevision.com. I offer regular video updates on the markets I follow and those are available to anyone who opts-in. I also offer a basic trading course using training videos I created. I am currently working on upgrading the course to a more comprehensive trading course. I have a strong desire to provide high quality education to allow a trader to become an elite trader. I would rate my current success as modest but plan to hit it out of the park with the new course.
How long have I been reading your blog/newsletter... I have read the blog only recently. I use to receive periodic emails from you but haven't heard from you in quite some time. I own two of your products...Adsense Secrets and Secret Classroom, as well as your adsense ebook. I consider you a no hype guy which is a breath of fresh air in the IM world.
Articles....what to say to persuade someone to buy. I prefer using a video sales letter, so any techniques or tactics would be great. The one thing I would ask you to write about is where do I go or turn to to get my questions answered? There is so much to putting together a successful web site and questions always come up. How do I structure my site for traffic purposes....do I send viewers to my blog or my video podcast site? How do I brand myelf effectively? Which flash player do I use? How do I segment my email list? Which blog theme do I go with? Tons of questions and more often than not, I don't know where to turn to to get answers. How do I put it all together?
Many thanks!
Rick
Hi,
Myself Harsh, a technology enthusiastic and passionate blogger. I am from Mumbai, India. I recently got introduced to blogging and slowly this hobby is turning into passion. I have started my blog just at the start of this year and I am not into internet business (at least not yet). I blog because I love to blog. I subscribed to your mail at first because I wanted to get free copy of the AdSense secrets ebook, to be honest. But now I am regularly reading to your newsletters and some of the articles are really interesting like the one which mentioned the inspiring story of Jeremy Schoemaker of ShoeMoney.com.
I love all your blogging tips as well as money making ideas (even though I am not into it yet). Keep good posts coming!
Hello -
I have been visiting your blog for several months now and at the same time hoping to pick up important Internet Marketing information to help me build my online business to the level that I'm surly on my own!
But due to unforeseen circumstances, this must be accomplished almost free.
Is this possible?
Susan
Hi Joel,
1) My name is Gabor, I live in Dublin, Ireland.
2) I'm just starting internet marketing.
3) Few weeks, I read it because you have great contents and helps a lot to develop skills.
4) For me it would be trafic generation.
5) You alredy giving us many good stuff to improve, I'll get back to you on it if I need anything specific.
Thank you.
All the Best!
Gabor
I've been reading your blog for just a couple of months now. Mostly I look because a particular headline has caught my eye in the email newsletters I get from you.
Mostly I'm looking for non-scammy ways of earning money on the internet. I don't want to sell viagra or acne cures, or useless ebooks or rip-off marketing courses.
I do earn a little from adsense on a couple of sites, but it's never enough, and has fallen recently.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Joel Wissing, I am from Chicago, and have lived 1/2 of my life abroad in Europe and mostly Japan. I am a husband, father of three, a trainer and public speaker, a futures and currency trader for proprietary trading funds and an adventure travel foodie .
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have an internet business, http://www.tradingonlinemadeeasy.com and http://www.moneymakeredge.com/blog which I use to help guide about 300 unique users a day in the S&P500 market place. I use these to also train clients at seminars and events. I also have another site for a proprietary trading room, where I train a small group of traders in a live trading room and publish our trades, via twitter at http://costa-rica-trade-room.moneymakeredge.com/ .
I have a small group of followers and about 30 students a year come from these sites. I think for the effort I put into these sites that they are about mediocre in success. I do receive a good number of kudos from experienced traders, but haven't optimized the information so it easy for beginners to join me. My training business is a small part of my income so I focus on my trading group which produces a high return. By the way, I met you at T. Harv Eker's event NWA, I was a speaker there.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I have been visiting your site for about 2 years on and off. Esecially, since I met you, to see if your websites would reveal any SEO and leading edge technology. I like leveraging other people's successful implementation. The first thing I did was to hook my websites up to twitter with hash tags.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
The Blatantly helpful ones - use twitter, use google friends, and I read a bit on converting traffic. Implemented aweber, and set up my responders. Looked at some product offerings, but they were to much risk of my time versus the output.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be? Late integration, I sometimes won't pursue an avenue because I think the wave has passed for example i phone applications. Looking at the applications showing how late integration could be worth the risk. It is basically how I look at products, if everyone is doing it, it is too late. Same with our proprietary funds, when everyone is buying we are selling it to them....
5b. The forms of developing your product in a quick step by step form, for instance outsource to here, sell here, and the conversion. I look the long
I appreciate your niche entry strategy and always like to catch something as it comes out the gate.
Best regards,
Joel Wissing
Hey Joel,
That Sneaker Wearing Guy here from Enid, Oklahoma. I started a website in 1999 to help sell my cartoons and now have several online businesses making a nice six figure income. About half of that from AdSense.
I design cartoon logos (curtoons.com), sell clipart (freeclipartpics.com), license characters (lifesacharacter.com), sell greeting cards (chuckleberrys.com) and upload tons of stuff (funnylittlesayings.com) on many different sites (shaggyduck.com).
I've been reading your info for a couple of years now always looking for new nuggets of how to earn more income with up and coming ideas (twitter.com).
I'm mostly looking for money making ideas that work without having to spend money (adWords) and without having to manage a large email list. I'm also always interested in new website ideas. Looking for one or two sites that I can turn into gold.
Your humor keeps me coming back just to see what's up.
Chuckles!
1. My name is Rhandy Pfeiffer and I am from Billings MT.
2. My girlfriend and I are currently working on creating our own online shopping mall business. We have done a lot of research and are ready to buy a domain name and set up shop.
3. I have been visiting your blog quite often the past month. I picked up your book The Adsense Code from the library and read it about two months ago. I was pleasantly surprised by your book and how you turned adsense into a science and you made other relative points about setting up a site, and other methods to monetize. So needless to say Joel, I instantly turned into a fan. Your book was an eye opener to make honest money on the internet for me and my girlfriend. I've become all to familiar with get rich quick programs and found real value in your quest for integrity on the internet. Thank you.
4. Articles that have become most helpful to me, WOW, I learned a lot these past few months of researching online business options. My favorites are the ones that give me ideas for marketing my business. I'm not interested in shady solutions to push massive info out there and something with the content, I'm not quite proud about... some methods I'm not sure if they are ethical. Where's the ethical line? So Joel ,I am relying on my trusted sources list to give me real information, and you are at the top.
5. If I could have you write about one thing, well it would be nice to have a compatibility list of affiliate programs with Google Adsense. Ha! But I know theres thousands and I know you don't work for Google and have a list ready. I like to read about whats new in online marketing so I can stay up to date. Whether its the newest social media networks, honest affiliate programs, or ways to drive traffic. An article about The Next Internet would be cool. I have a sweeping sense that the internet is changing rather dramatically right now. New FCC rules for affiliates, the social media explosion and where that's leading internet marketing. It seems like lately the internet is having an integrity shift and Joel I would like to see you playing with that pack. When Guru's Go Bad would be cool too. What are they doing, where are they heading with their marketing schemes, how is that changing the internet, when morals go out the door, how to know a bad idea when its looking at you in the face. Granted if your salivating after a pitch, its probably bad. Maybe its me but its seems like a closely knit community, a lot of collaboration deals going on right now. They are all experts but I think ethics are out the door in some cases and its influencing honest people to do greedy things. Joel, be the hot butter knife cutting through the butter. Can you eliminate any of this BS shenanigans on the internet. Revolutionize the internet for us Joel, that's what I want to see! Thank you for being compassionate about us!
1. Keith Jacob, St. Louis, MO
2. I am starting an internet business.
3. I have been following you for a couple months now.
4. Anything about getting going and increasing web traffic is helpful.
5. The easiest way to get started.
Hi Joel,
Im 23 im out of work almost a year and im hoping to better myself ive spend over 5 years screenprinting. Im just starting out. Ive downloaded the adsense code, how to build a profitable website and Twitter power sample and im still reading through them.
Ive purchased the AdesensePremier straight away when i got your mail. I realise its going to help me a great deal if i can put it in to practice.
Ive a question Should i apply for your Workshop? Im from ireland.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Hey Joel, my name is Joni from Wisconsin
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I do, Three websites. But only one is finished and up running. naturalremediesforpets.net I went with what I love natural health and pets. The others not done are dcpetsupply.com and naturalbeautyandnutrition.com
Not doing as well yet only one sale so far. I know it takes awhile to really get going. I have worked very very hard and taken an SEO class. I have a hard time putting in the hours I want because of physical problems. But I am a worker and determind to make it. So I push hard and keep trying to learn all I can. On good days I work all day and night if I can. On bad days like today I am lucky to type this.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Not very long a few weeks.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Marketing. Really anything that helps me learn more in building and marketing for very low cost. I tried the adsense, great artical. It is only working as long as adwords does. But I can see the good in it. Only
I wonder if I am losing any sales because of it.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be
Succses on a dime. Most of us are broke and need to do this with out any or no more then a small investment. I am talking very very small. I feel you can do most of the work yourself, it just takes longer then paying for software or someone else to do it for you.
Hi my name is Harry, excuse me if you dont understand my english, im from Colombia, I speak, read and understand spanish perfectly and Im following you for almost 3 years and im strongly appasionate about making money on internet. I have read "What Google Never Told You About Adsense" and I´m trying to apply this tactics. Honestly, I dont make a lot of money on internet like you ( a little little less than you) but I´d like to...now Joel...Now...I want to fire my boss, so i feel that your knowledge can bring me "the light at the dark" on this lifestyle model.
I would like to work for you. Why I dont leave a reply everyday? Because I need more expertise to do it. Im glad to write you. Hope some day you could contact me. Take Care.
I must study why do I have a great traffic on my site , and no earnings by ads .
I am Wasiu based in Nigeria West Africa
I am planning on establishing an online business empire on information marketing.
I have been receiving your newsletter for the past 16 months.I continue reading them because it inspires me a lot in having a personal website and star doing business online.although it has not been easy getting a genuine website builder for the kind of business I enjoy reading in your newsletters.
Adsense has been one of my favorite.I also purchase some of the interviews you had with top internet marketers like,Armand Morin,Mike Filsaime,Marlon Sanders,Yanik Silver and others.
I will be very happy if you could write something on building info-marketing website for a novices.I will also like personal help in getting my own online website.thanks and Good bless.
Jon from Florida. Yes I have had a small IM business going on for a few years but seem to have "plateau'd". More than 90% of my income is from Adsense and my most successful marketing & traffic has been from article marketing. I have not been able to crack the affiliate or CPA nut, and Adsense income has been dropping off steadily.
Information overload is a huge thing. I am on several lists and it seems like 10 different people want to give me something new for free every day, but the majority of it seems to be garbage, at least the stuff I have had time to actually read.
How do you separate the good stuff from the junk? How to really take an IM business to the next level and increase revenues?
I'd like you to make pointless iPhone Apps.
No wait, the opposite of that!
It's nice to see you back talking about AdSense and stuff again.
I am Corena. I am from the U.S.A We have met several times and I have benefited everytime.
www.writerwrangler.com is my Internet business and has been for about seven years, you have even been a client:)
I love your blog and ustream.
I like your candid posts about what is real and what we should watch out for.. I would like more honest reviews of the newest and coolest.. What I do not want is political statements and rants.
Unless of course you start a blog with that theme then of course I will add it to my feed. I just like business and politics separate.
There you go .. A comment
Thanks Joel

Hey Joel
I'm Cherry-Ann Carew, The Power Writing Coach, Editor and Author, from California by way of London, England.
My company is Writetastic Solutions, currently a coaching and editing service business for both established and emerging writers; soon to include products, which is the reason I connected to you over the last few months, and have learned and still do learn a lot about products, social media and marketing. Thank you! Yes, I read you insightful book!
On the service level, business is fairly successful. Naturally, I hope to rise from fairly to Writetastic with the implementation of products (launching in a few weeks) to compliment my services.
Hmm...if you could write one thing about me... "Cherry-Ann is passionate about helping novices with their creative expression to add value to their books."
Nice to meet you, and thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Nice touch!
Well I guess it was actually too difficult, Joel.
Not a gripe, just an FYI.
I failed the re-Captcha validation and ended up losing all my comment.
I really don't have the time unfortunately to retype it all. I need to get back to work.
Best of luck to ya,
Bill Kisich
Hi Joel,
My name is Robin Buckley and I live in California. I an a photographer by trade but I do have some Internet based businesses. One is an e-commerce store that sells bounce houses. I also build blogs in specific niches that generate affiliate sales.
I spent a lot of time and money with people in the Internet Marketing space who had no business charging for their services.
But through it all, I learned how to learn this business and I have started a free membership site to help others through the mine field.
I read your blog for the integrity value I receive. (in fact I am going to start marketing your "Secret Classroom".
But here is the bonus! (and it is just a bonus because I love reading your stuff) When I check my backlink stats, I notice that my posts on this blog give me a VERY NICE PR 6 backlink. And that is very cool indeed.
I am not looking to you for getting back to the basics... after all, that is what my free site will do, I look to you to find the way to build a business that employs a team of implementers such as yours.
I have to tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity you have given to all of us here as I have really enjoyed reading everyone's response to your questions.
Hi Joel,
Kym from Australia. I have just started in IM. I have mostly Adsense sites up and a couple of product sites. My level of experience when I started about 3 months ago was zero.
I have been on your list for a few weeks after getting your adsense book (great read). Not visited your blog. I haven't been visiting anyones blogs... I become easily distracted. :)
As someone said earlier, a blueprint for noobs to follow, something to help sift out what we need and don't need, know what is good to buy and what to stay away from. :) Info overload has nearly drowned me a couple of times :)
I love step by step at the moment, pause the video, do the task.... That may change as I become more experienced.
cheers
Kym

What's up ducks!?!
If there's a place where I'm glad to post my first blog reply ever, it really is in here! On Joel Comm's blog!!
My name is Mathieu, I'm 26, and I'm a Frensh Canadian from Montreal. So excuse my PERFECT English!
Since I'm 12, I've always knew that Internet was (or would become) "THA BIG THING". But some people are slower than other to capitalise on what they believe... I'm one of them!
The first thing I did was on december 22nd of 2009. I bought "Adsense Secrets" from Joel (well, no really bought, it was free). I did not read it all the way, cause I kept on digging for new info about more specific subjects of internet marketing. Which led me to "The Secret Classroom". So sick...
Now that I know what was in there (cause I've watch every single minutes of it), I seriously would be ready to pay 25K for it. No kidding. Maybe it's because I'm a newbie, and everything in there was new to me, but still. It was at minimum an incredible short-cut to the info needed to start flying on your own on the internet. Avoiding many "not to do" and "not to go". So Joel, for that, thank you, and your a sick human being to give that away! Cause yeah!, 47$, it's a freaking gift!!!
So where I am now... Oh yeah, level of success in my buisness.
I got none... But my sister have a health store for baby product (bio and ecolo stuff on everything, to help babys, kids, and families to grow in a healthy environement), and she got a website, and she's about to launch her e-commerce of her product (well, it's not her's, she's a reseller). And I talked to her about what I've learned and the ideas I came up with, and she's flabbergasted. So she want me to make her "shop launch", but I'm gonna make her a complete marketing plan, from A to Z. Thanks to you Joel.
From no concept of anything about marketing, I'm fearless and full of confidence about that project. In less than a month! But I know, nothing is done yet. But hey, I got nothing to lose! Neither does she!
OK. Enough about me. About you! Joel! Why do I read your articles? Cause of your transparency. And you know, after a "product" like "The Secret Classroom", I'm ready to engorged anything that come from you (and you guys don't think twisted!).
But about what help me most, what kind of content... I don't know, I feel like I got everything I need.
But there's one thing. SEO, or anything about how to get your website higher and higher on the ranking. Feel like nobody really got into this deeply (on "The Secret Classromm"). Ned a little more explanation about how it work and how to use it to our advantage (I know, I could googled it, but I want to learn from the best!).
Well that's it! I hope I didn't bored you guys with my long, no point, PERFECLY WELL WRITTEN text! ;-0 haha
Have a good one. And the closer you are from that guy (Joel), the closer you are from success.
Mathieu

1) I am Brad West from Las Vegas, NV.
Love Colorado by the way one of my favorite states along with Montana.
Was going to go to school on Greeley ended up in Seattle. That was 12 years ago when I was 38.
2) I was in business for 18 years as a general contractor back east made some great money. When you ask do we have a business I am assuming that you are talking about interaction with others with a monetary benefit in our direction. If so, not yet, been working a long time to make it work out though. We have blogs that get some good search engine traffic but evidently don't have them monetized correctly. We have leverage engines or index drivers to push sites to rank better. We studied hard and figured out the SEO end of thing very well. But we have no product, I think we have focused on how to so long our brains are numb to the what to. Great success with SEO!
3) Don't know for sure I do know it has been a long time. I wish I could be more specific but I just can't remember a time that I haven't been reading stuff from you. I can say this though. I have been on tons of lists over the years and every so often I get a wild hair usually when there is the Guru Circle pounds me with a stupid promotion and I'm getting 50 messages a day with some crap and they are all trying to out do each other with bonus offers. Like this next money harvest from the masses that starts tomorrow with Andy Jenkins. Not looking forward to this one. Don't get me wrong but only the Gurus allow their Guru friends to the Great Harvests. Sorry! Got Out of Hand There a Little A long ass time that's all I know.
4) OK here we go on the article thing. I will answer you and say most of your stuff has been great. I have to answer your question in a general way because I read selfishly, I read to learn. If your content sucked I would have been gone a long time ago. As a matter a fact Sheryl and I were discussing this again yesterday. How the heck can some of these people, and bigger name people some of them write an article that after I read it I ask myself what the heck? Is there a point? Did I miss something? And they get comments like crazy! "Ooh that was great," "I learned so much from you today thanks." My god people there is more intelligence in the comments than the post, sad. When you write you say something, it has value like I said or I would be gone. Sheryl's Blog is like that, kind of sarcastic at times to, Wow!
5) One thing, Yes, How the heck do we come up with a viable product! That's it.
Thanks for having me on your site.
I will also say this to you as I do most people, is there some way I can help and be of value to you!

Hello Joel,
I am Rachel from England, North West, and at the beginning of this January 2010 I started exploring the possibilities of starting my own business through 2 genuine membership and training programs. I was cautious, yet at the same time wanted to get out there learning something new, something to earn me a reasonable living, and something I could become good at giving me a real focus in life. I am not looking to be a millionaire at present, just to manage nicely. So far earned about $12.00
I have been promoting digital products through Paydotcom and Clickbank as a way into marketing due to ill health (M.E.)and cannot go out to work in the workplace. Free advertising is slow, but cannot be doing paid advertising campaigns yet, posted a lot of ads, posted a blog. Working through the training is giving me more information and knowledge as I go along and doing my own research into affiliate website set-up. I think this will be the key to proper earnings for me. Also got a training program on article writing for the internet.
You sound like a very clever, learned guy Joel with a lot of experience.
What do you think, am I going in the right direction with all of this or do you suggest another route to my own business and total independence?
Thanks for all your newsletter emails anyway.
Reima here from Dublin, Ireland. I have had an Internet business for some time and I own several AdSense web sites and promote different affiliate products. I have been able to make money with these, but in order to achieve a full-time income would require more work and/or outsourcing.
I have received your newsletters before, perhaps 5-6 years ago and then there was some break. Naturally, I am interested in creating passive income with AdSense and you provide helpful information in this field.
Articles which help to solve some kind of problem or which inspire thoughts are the best ones in my mind. Creating an Internet business is like placing pieces of puzzle together.
Bonjour et merci Joel
Je suis très content de lire votre blog et vos conseils
Mais le temps est vraiment trop juste pour tous
Merci
Manuel
I'm from the UK where I maintain a number of small websites for friends and acquantances.
Typical of The kind of sites I produce are for churches, for small businesses like Bed and Breakfast and for a few charities.
None of them are intended to be big money spinners in their own right but as far as possible I want to achieve as wide a readership as practicable and provide an entertaining and pleasant experience for visitors.
I read your blog because I pick up tips here and there that help me achieve the goals as expressed above.
Thanks for the service. Not many people might express their gratitude but I would wager that the vast majority are really appreciative.
1) Who are you and where are you from? I am a small business owner from San Diego, CA.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have made my living for the past 9 years selling undeveloped land and motivational books online. Very successful the first 6 years, then the last 3 years things have slowed down so I looked for the first time into internet marketing and discover Joel at a seminar and fell in love with him, so a fan of him and his work.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it? About two years I've been reading your newsletter and about 6 months the blog and I read it because I always learn something new that is help full in promoting myself through the internet.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you? Any that will increase my presence online.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be? What works now when it comes to promoting your business online as things keep changing.
Thank you!
Hi, I am student and entrepreneur doing research for some projects.
I have besides me your new book, Twitter power, and am reading the introduction. When I logged on to check my emails, I saw your email. I must have signed up on something sometime ago, as this is my first time on your blog. Interesting coincidence.
Your book Twitter power sounds interesting, and am looking forward to reading it and coming back often to your blog.
Thanks for writing the book and for sharing your passion for social media
My name is Michelle and I am from New Zealand. My husband and I run a total of 4 websites online using affiliates, adsense and own downloadable products to monetize. I have been involved in online marketing since the end of 07. This is my latest site http://www.tamingtime.com/ (just over a month old). We also own and run a successful offline business. I pop in now and again as I am on the newsletter list, I like keeping tabs on what is going on in the online world.
Hi Joel (and team). I originally met you at Big Seminar a few years ago and have been one of those "under the radar" online guys for 15 years. I'm one of those rare people who create products of my own and promote them on my own websites as well as affiliate marketing (about 100 or so sites total) AND have a team to do work for clients under my company fittingly called HereNextYear.com. Usually Internet people seem to either do the work for others OR focus on their own sites, not both. I'm just not much into the "coaching" thing and traveling all over the place as a speaker, but we do work with authors and speakers as well as business owners.
My wish is that you would focus some articles on the importance of having a team of helpers. Trying to do things all by oneself is such a recipe for destruction. You have a team. I have a team. Armand has a team. Everyone I know that makes more than $50K a year online has a team of people to help them get there. And, most newb's miss that very important point thinking they have to learn everything.
And, I don't mean jumping immediately to outsourcing to India or wherever. "Team" does not have to mean "outsourcing" anymore. In fact, someone who advertises as being from India could easily be in a basement apartment in Chicago.
High Joel,
I have started your "12 days to page one" and I really like your approach. You appear to have a genuine interest in seeing that people suceed according to your methods. I am on day 9 and am enjoying it so far. I am new to online marketing (my site gets 1 or 2 visitors each day). I am really hoping that I can get some traffic to it and start generating some income. If you want to you can take a look and toss out a suggestion or tell me if you think I have a chance at all.
I look forward to working with you in the future.
Thanks!
Mike.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Gordon, from the USA, living in Japan
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have an experimental website directed at adults who are learning English. I'm going to redesign and expand it in the coming months. I'm interested in ways to market the new site and support the costs associated with it. The site will offer original content that will be free to the users but expensive to produce.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
This is only the second day, so it's really too soon for me to answer the WHY part. I downloaded your free e-books (thru a Twitter link, I think) and the emails started coming.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Probably articles on marketing and monetizing content-based sites.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
How do we approach a worldwide market? My users will be scattered around the globe and will not understand English very well.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Linda from Ridgefield, CT
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I'm in the process in finishing my research on my topic and will be building my website shortly. I've been learning Affiliate Marketing from a mentor you know James Martell has been my teacher and I've learned a lot from him. I reach out to those mentors that can provide the right information or in line of or in connection with what I'm learning.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I've been visiting your blog since 2007 since I opted in to your email list. I've also purchased your Adsense book during that time. I've been attended your weekly Joel Comm show with Dan on the Stick and watched many times the flying monkey. When its been on and don't know if you still do the show.
I read your blog because at times it has been informative. Lately I've seen a shift in your writing and I like it. It seems your changing what others are not doing. It's all about trust and be authoritative and branding yourself more. I think that if your readers new and old have a place where we get the right information then in turn you get more viral.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
I like informative articles that give you the full story on different aspects of Internet Marketing. I don't like a bit here or a bit there articles. Articles should give you the details on why, what, when, and how to do Internet Marketing and why you are doing it. It's not a big secret in keeping back information that you need. There will always be new people who join the arena of Internet Marketing. Articles should tell you who it's for beginners, intermediate, and advance. We should have products/courses that tell you who it's for, what type of Internet Marketer it relates to whether it's Information Marketers or Affiliate Marketers or both.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
I think you can write almost anything that is connected with Internet Marketing. Here is a list
1. Twitter how to use it, what not to do with it - how to use Twitter in your marketing to make money.
2. How to brand yourself
3. Article Marketing and content writing for your pages, how to theme your articles/content
4. Outsourcing (the entire how to in outsourcing, hire, your work order to freelancer, how to train the freelancer, how to get your money back when freelancer is not working for you, what to give your outsourcer so you get the job done right the first time, etc.)
5. Facebook, anything to do with social media.
6. How to integrate Adsense in your article pages (what works what size adsense ad for your pages
7. Monetization, your funnel
8. There Affiliate Marketers that don't do Upsells to products/courses. To me this is Information Marketers who join the affiliate program.
7. How to do testing , what to test, what your looking at when doing testing, conversions, how to improve your conversions.
8. Email Marketing,
Should I go on, Joel; I think you get the gist of what I'm saying here. I could not just give you one thing to write about there is to much to choose from.
There is a ton of what you can write about just as long it gives you the how to, the why to, the when to, if its for Information Marketers, Affiliate Marketers. Just as long as the reader knows that the information is geared towards a particular marketer and it's not given in bits and pieces so that when you read it you know and understanding what/why/when to use the Marketing How To Information with building your website business.
Hi Joel, loved the game show. When you gonna do it again?
I am Chris Endres and I'm from San Diego Ca right now.
Do I have a business? Well I have sure been pretending I have one very effectively. I have done a significant amount of web work for several well known people, but I am only now standing up for my real potential.
First time I've been to your blog, but now that I know it's here I will be back :)
I would like to know what you have to say about Adsense for domains. Is there a secret tech there or is it junk?
~Chris

1) Who are you and where are you from?: My name is Dominic Valentine and I live in south west England.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Not quite yet - I'm reckoning on 3-5 days more work and then I'm good to go.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it? 6 days! I saw a post on a forum (Resell Rights Weekly.com) for the books you were giving away and I signed up for them as soon as I saw them.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?: To be honest, I haven't read any of yours yet as I'm still devouring the books
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be? Joint Ventures and how to do them properly
Thanks for everything so far Joel
My name is Carl Willoughby from New York City.
I bought your book "Adsense Code" and your "Instant Adsense Templates".
I knocked myself out trying to get a website up because your instructions
in the Adsense templates were confusing and not clear.
I finally (by luck) got the website up www.StudentLoanDebtConsolidationSite.com
I picked that niche because it was supposed to be high payout keywords.
I monitized the site with Adsense like you suggested.
Knocked myself out trying to put up fresh content for almost 3 years.
Finallly I stopped because I have not received a single check.
(The site earned about $50 bucks Adsense revenue in 3 years, but I haven't received a check yet because they don't pay out until you reach $100.
Maybe if I keep blogging for another 3 more years, I'll get a paycheck.
Needless to say I'm not keen on Adsense aka non-cents.
Best Wishes,
Carl Willoughy
Just picked up a closed Christian bookstore. Have some wonderful items at great prices. Anyway, my question is what is the best way to make residual income off Amazon? What have you done?
Thanks for all the information. John 14:6

Hi Joel,
I am from Malaysia.
1.Anaesthetist by profession.
2.Soon launching Affiliate Marketing with Social Media marketing.
3.Reading your blogs for more then 2 years.
4.I love your frank and no hold barred--talk on Internet
marketing. You give people something of value rather then 'Hype'
With so much information overload, hype, over sell of ebooks,
everyone claiming to be internet gurus, your opinion on these
matters caries a lot of value.Especially the last 3-5 blogs, when
people started selling software for a USD3,000 and two individuals
promoting each others products......you know who.
Especially "Dark side of Internet"
and "Innovation is the Catalyst for Success"
5."If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?"

Thanks for giving us this opportunity, Joel. I am Eleazar Tutor Acampado from Manila, Philippines. I am the Administrator of Entrepinoy Bank (Make Money Bank for Entrepreneur-Minded People) and Scholarship Grants Online (Scholarship Grants for Filipinos). I'm very far way from the success of most bloggers but I think I'm on my way following their footsteps. I'm a subscriber of your email subscription for almost a month now. I really like what you have posted in your site especially how to make money from various advertising networks and affiliate programs. And recently, I downloaded your free ebooks.
Yours to more success,

2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have recently started a blog/website focused on college, mainly preparation and tips. My goal is to provide future college students and parents of those students with all of the information they need when preparing for college and while in college. This could range from studying for standardized tests to buying textbooks to study habits.
As of now, I would have to say my success level is fairly low because I attract VERY few readers right now(I did just start it up and am still working on getting the pillar articles up). So really, I am not disappointed with my level of success right now. If I responded the same way in a couple months, I definitely would be though!
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I have been visiting and reading your site for a couple of months. I read because I would like to have success with my blog.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Anything and everything regarding obtaining success from a blog/website(traffic and financially wise).
Thanks for all the free content and tips!

I'm currently trying to get an internet business up and running, but have a lot of distractions around me, preventing me from focussing on anything in particular!
Only for a month or so, and because I would like to increase traffic and revenue to my site... you have knowledge I would like to acquire...
At the moment, all articles that help me to achieve the above are useful.
ummm, dunno, there's so much I'm still trying to get my head around...
Thanks

Hi Joel, I'm actually just reading your Twitter Power book right now. I've been following you for a while but really only started paying attention lately (since reading the book)...sorry :(
Anyways. I'm from Toronto, Canada. I have a number of online businesses.
If I could ask you to write two blog posts that I think would help me that would be great. The first would actually include some sort of tool in the form of a schedule. There is so much to do with internet marketing on a day to day basis..it gets overwhelming. I need a plan. A specific plan of action. For example. Monday 30 minutes to write a blog post or make a video. Tuesday...do this...etc.
What are the best tools to use with Twitter and how much time during the day should I spend on it. I have a blackberry but to be honest it suck. Do I need an iPhone? or something that will make it easier to tweet with while not at my computer. Everyone I talk to emphasises focus to get anything done. I am distracted all day long...to add twittering to my day would just make it worse. I need tools that will allow me to use Twitter to it's fullest yet take the minimum amount of my day with the least distractions.
You rock! Tracy
Hi Joel,
My name is Maria Kuczborska. I am of Polish origin, living in Western Australia over 25 years. I am fascinated by internet possibilities and try to find something for myself. I am new in everything. I found your blog very helpfull and friendly. Why I read your letters? They are interesting and unique unlike most of staff in my mailbox. I can assure you I will be your reader in future.
Cheers, Maria
Could you advise me how to market thru clickbank?
My name is Crystal and I currently live in Virginia. I have been following your site for a couple of years now. For several years I have been working on ideas for creating websites to make income. I have run in to several obstacles (i.e. excuses) that have delayed my start. However a few weeks ago I became unemployed. Woo-Hoo! I am taking this time to launch 3 sites. My goal is to cover my expenses as quickly as possible in hopes to never need a J.O.B. again. I know it is a challenge. In a week or so I should have my content ready to launch my sites.
I would love to see more articles on success stories. I also would love to read about what things are commonly done that lead to failure. Then again I would have loved to have been part of the Next Internet Millionaire.
Great stuff!
Hey Joel,
My name is John Michael Christian and I live in Ft. Collins, CO.
I have an online "business" of 15 websites that currently is not in the black. Why? Very little traffic, and what I do have isn't converting.. which is why I put the word business in quotes. Right now it's just a liability that's costing me money.
I've been either on your list or visiting your blog since around the time that I purchased your adsense sites as I recall. I also have a hard copy of your Adsense book btw.
I stay on your list and read your emails and blog posts because I respect you and believe you're one of the few honest Internet Marketers around.
What I would like to read is more specific information on getting traffic and getting conversions. Basically how you market yourself and your products and what you do, step by step.
The best,
John

recently,i have been planning to set up an online perfume retail website/company,a web develop./building and marketing website and some others, but i have been having handicaps which i believe you can help me with:i desire to develop the internet marketting entrepreneur mindset and discipline, and i also desire to know how to use free online web-dev. and marketting applications you mentioned in the "top one report"(osalt):w.y.s.i.w.y.g dev & editing,f.t.p-ing,i.d.e;so as to enable to very quickly create websites, and also web-aggregation/aggregate marketing which i believe is the future of online marketing.
Thanks for asking us what do we want...we want to hire people that do what they say they will. We need SEO people and they all leave the planet after a week...after we pay them their high fees...we have gone through a ton of money with web people and SEO people and still spending without the results they say they can bring to our business...are all the people in the internet crooks or just the ones in Los Angeles? HELP with someone responsible and a good price who is internet poor...this is serious we need your help but actually thought you were to big to ask...we read all your books and still trying to understand them...this is why we need help...Thanks so much...
Hey Joel, I have been reading your blog since I read your Twitter book about a year ago. Your questions remind me of a Chris Brogan type blog, that is alright though cause it works.
I am a Michigan Realtor trying to learn how to best use the social interaction sites to better sell homes. I do like to write but am so busy working with leads and selling foreclosed properties I just do not have much time. I have a wordpress account For now with a dozen or so posts on it. Michigan real estate is tough, commissions are low but homes are cheap.
Thank you for being a pioneer
1) Who are you and where are you from?
I am Kevin Knebl from Colorado Springs, CO.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I am a speaker/trainer/coach regarding online and offline networking. I have been speaking professionally for over 14 years and speak 2-5 times per week on stages all over the country and internationally. I am recognized as a LinkedIn enthusiast and have been training individuals and organizations for over 6 years on the most effective uses of LinkedIn. It was recently brought to my attention that I have more LinkedIn recommendations on my profile than anyone else on LinkedIn (over 55M people).
I specialize in integrating offline relational people skills in an online environment.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
For one month. It has great content.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Figuring that out.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
What YOU think we should be asking you to write about.
Thanks for taking the time to do this. You rock!
Kev
I am a retired executive assistant from Northern Indiana (The Hoosier State), and have lived in Mesa, Arizona, and currently call Cherokee Village, Arkansas, home.
In 1999, we started setting up websites with V-stores, but their commission rate was low because they were doing all of the fulfilling and we did not know how to get traffic. After that my husband started selling Ernst Tool Organizers online. We are currently selling down that inventory and have added tool boards and related items at http://www.toolsorter.com - He also has a website at http://www.arhandymanservices.com where we refer people who want to know what kind of handyman services we do, when we're not working on internet marketing.
In between lots of other things, I built a music site, and converted it to a blog at http://www.musicdecorandmore.blogspot.com - I wish I had converted it to a blog sooner. It's easier, a lot more fun and is starting to produce a little income. That encouraged me to build more niche blogs... one is at http://www.sharons-handbags-purses.blogspot.com and another is at http://www.dangling-earrings.blogspot.com
As to the level of success we are experiencing, we know what we have to do to be on the first page of Google, as well as getting a #1 slot for certain search terms. Each year, we seem to be doing better than we were doing the year before. We are continually learning and trying new things to try to increase our sales.
Your newsletter has been coming to my inbox for at least two years, and my husband was getting it long before me. There were times when I only saved it to a special folder because I didn't have time to read it, but now that I have eliminated ninety percent of the newsletters I was getting I look forward to getting it and reading it. Your honest approach is very refreshing.
Articles of varying lengths about topics on successful ways to market, to get sales, topics to get or stay on track, tried and true as well as new approaches, including some of your experiences would be helpful. One thing I've noticed about a lot of internet marketers is they tell us what needs to be done, but they don't really tell us how to do it. The how to is where most people get lost.
If you could only write about one thing, it would be to tell us how to generate up to three thousand dollars a month online with no out of pocket expenses.
Thanks,
Sharon
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Hi Joel, My name is Amit Bhagria and I am residing in New Delhi (India). I have a blog that is related to my profession. It is about HR and the web address is www.younghrmanager.com I read your bible on Adsense in 2007 and since then making a decent income month on month, however still tasting the tip of the iceberg as there is so much which needs to be explored online. I have my personal constraint on account of work hence my time investment is not much. However, I religiously check your blog and also follow the product recommendations.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I have a number of blogs on different topics however the earnings are not consistent. As already mentioned by me I am yet to explore what lies beneath the world wide web and the opportunities.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Getting true advice is a challenge today in the internet arena as we have so many millionaires and their claims of making a fortune. I have identified few people whom I find genuine and I also follow their advices. Out of those you are also highly respected and followed by me.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
As I am engaged in a profession, I like advice which does not require my time investment. I don't like to run away from hard work, however my professional commitments sometimes becomes a barrier for me.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
I would request if you can guide how to make affiliate marketing easy for working professionals. Most of the products that are there online require some work or your time. Claims of leaving job etc only arise when I can see a fair amount of my online share. Further, an advice I have ebooks converted to mp3 which I can follow while driving or resting. Hence digital info products in audio versions are very helpful.
You can mail me at amitbhagria@younghrmanager.com

Hi Joel
I live in Far North Queensland in tropical Australia and have been involved in art all my life.
Your adsense secrets ebook was very helpful, thank you, although I still don't seem to have got it right at all! In fact I seem to be getting worse at it!
I would be interested in knowing how to attract more visitors to my site. I think that I may have to start writing lots of articles...
Jill
Good day sir,
I am Amadi uchenna, a Nigerian and an undergraduate.
am only into adsense, but the success so far is not encouraging at all haven tried all i got from your adsense secret. Moreso, I am interested in most of your products but do not know how to purchase it because my country is not included in the paypal list. Please how do i go about it. I sincerely wish to learn under your tutorship. Please, be my mentor. Thanks
Here are my answers to your questions:
1) Who are you and where are you from?
My name is David Lockett and I am from Western Australia
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I operate a modestly sized tourism portal that promotes Western Australian accommodation and tourism services. The site has been online since 1997 and receives solid if not huge daily visitor traffic. I have previously generated interesting although not massive monthly earnings from adsense ads displayed at the site and I need to rebuild and improve on those earlier earnings, which fell when the economic downturn hit.
We have also created a very easy to use and highly effective online webpage/website editing application that we are promoting to local clients to use in managing their own websites and also in managing their pages within out tourism portal.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I have probably been receiving emails from you and occasionally visiting your website for a couple of years, although was not at that time ready to get serious about adsense.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
I am currently reading your Adsense Secrets ebook and have ordered your AdSense Premier Special which I am eagerly awaiting delivery of.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
We need to learn more about Google Adsense and website optimization (SEO). We also need to learn more about Google Adwords and how to best use that program to increase visitor traffic to our site and to our clients websites. We also need to know how to ensure that our clients obtain the best possible results when developing and promoting their own websites.
Hi Joel,
First off, thanks for all of the invaluable information that you share in your blog. I think the small percentage of responses relative to posts is just the nature of the beast of blogging :)
Here are my snswers to your questions:
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Steve. We're located in Miami, FL.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Yes. New e-commerce venture is AwesomePlanters.com (shopping cart not enabled yet). It's a Niche website that will sell modern planters to the public when fully enabled. Existing company website is FosterPlants.com and that's where my blog resides.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I've been visiting and learning a lot your blog for about a month or so (since purchasing twitter power) and it has been instrumental in motivating me to add a blog to our website, which incidentally has already had an effect on our traffic :)
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Anything to do with SEO and general online marketing strategies.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Me. Ha... just kidding! Couldn't narrow it down to one thing if I tried. Just keep sharing the immense knowledge that you have.
Steve
Ken and Lisa from Tennessee. No website today. We tried some of the clickbank stuff and media advertising and never made any money. No real idea where to start or what really works.
Biggest help would be step by step, how to start a profitable business.
Hi Im from Czech Republic so exuse me for my English.I red your book about Adsense and its just great. Thanks a lot for your good job. LukĂ¡Å¡
Hi Joel,
Tina from the central California coast. Saw you at a Peak Potentials event. Have since started following you and launched www.slohorsenews.net, a resource for our local equestrian community. Plan to read your books and add to advertising revenue with affiliate marketing. AdSense has not approved my account but I have Amazon and a couple of other affiliates. Would like to see in your blog your best tips from all your books and experience on monetizing our websites and blogs. Thanks for all you do. Tina
Hi Joel,
My name is Michael Wilson and I'm living in northern Virginia. I've only recently started reading your blog on a regular basis, though I did read an Adsense book of yours a little while back.
Call me a recent fan. I like your straight-forward approach and genuine delivery. You come across as someone that really wants to help people succeed ... and that's a little rare in internet marketing.
I retired young from a corporate job several years ago to work full-time on my offline business. About a year ago I started a new venture helping people develop and implement effective marketing strategies.
My online business is alive and growing but I readily admit that the results have been less than stellar. I'm still in business, which is a level of success, but am still looking for better methods and a way to get the traction to move to the next level.
I'd like to see you write about monetization techniques and strategies - not just 'how' but also 'when'. I know it's important to employ the right timing as well as match monetization strategies to specific businesses or markets or my own market presence. I'd like to have access to more expertise in this area.
I love reading your stuff - keep it going!
Michael
I'm Dan in St. Louis.
No internet business. I'm a freelance project manager. I help people start, expand, change their businesses. I engage experts in web design, internet-marketing, etc.
I've been reading your various texts for a few months, mostly to learn about web-based businesses and marketing. I like to keep current on every aspect of business in case the next project requires it.
The articles most helpful to me are about e-commerce; how to generate revenue from blogging, tweeting, etc.
If you only wrote about one thing, that would really limit the utility of your information. Keep it broad and keep it coming!
Joel, I have been following you since the Internet Millionaire days. I work from home as a graphic artist and editor for small projects. I have several online sites but am not making much money with them. It has been a slow process. I recently downloaded your adsense tips and will study that. Like others, your best tips for monetizing sites and blogs is what I'm looking for.
Hi Joel,
I'm a psychiatrist who stopped working 5 years ago to take care om my severely medically ill child. Now that my older children are approaching college age, I realized I had to start contributing to the family income. I have been doing extensive research for the past 3 months and I hope to launch my first content-based website soon, and then do a product launch after that. My 12-year-old son is starting to put together his own ADHD blog and website, also hoping to make some college money through Adsense. My overhead thus far has been minimal. I spent $97 on a DietBizinaBox download which gave me detailed step-b-step instructions on starting a business (the best $97 I've spent). Then I paid $180 on an LLC license...Then I found out about Adsense and realized I can start making money before I dish out any more. I've been reading your Adsense book (and just recommended it to a friend) and just downloaded your Website creation book. I'm very excited about all of it. Any more information you can provide for beginners would be much appreciated. Thanks.
1. Hi Joel, my name is Dusan and I'm from Serbia.
2. Yes I have an internet business. It is an online store. Although, I'm not too satisfied how it goes, it could be much better :).
3. I've been visiting your blog since December 2009. as I want to get more knowledge about internet marketing.
4. Whatever article is helpful, but I'm mostly interested in sales articles and AdSense.
5. I'd ask you to write about optimizing website and how to have a good content to get the best AdSense ads.
Greetings from Serbia, Dusan Bordjoski
Hi Joel and Friends,
This is Mellisa McJunkin from the majestic mountains of NW Montana.
I am a Christian Mompreneur. Which means my values come first and foremost over making a ton of money or striving to be a guru of sorts.
I have been an entrepreneur nearly all my life. But I have also had MANY jobs as well.
I have been online with an internet business since 2001. It has really evolved over the years. I coin myself as a Digital Information Broker.
I enjoy reading your blog and other things because I feel that you have many of the same values as I do. I trust that you will bring forth the truth and not hype or the "NEXT BIG THING"
I have a problem with staying focused and concentrating on a particular niche because I have so many interests and a couple of strong passions.
I would love to continue hearing from you in the form or articles and what not that keeps it real and focused and honest.
Thanks a bunch. Have a blessed week.

1) Who are you and where are you from?
Hi Joel, I'm Debbie from the east coast of NC
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Yes, I have a home based business, BeachBotanicals, which I am currently learning to market on the internet through websites, blogging and social media. I'm a beginner... still. It is a slow go trying to teach yourself. I have learned a lot from reading your material and listening to you Joel, and I appreciate that.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I attended your social media boot camp sessions about a year ago. Took lots of notes and learned a great deal. Purchased Twitter Power and got on your blog about the same time. I read it because I enjoy your wit and I always learn things I should implement.

Articles relating to SEO, blogging, and social media.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?

I love that you have asked for people to leave some info and you asked them what they would like to hear more of... how about asking people to send you specific questions regarding their internet business? I am sure some of the challenges other have are the same ones that are tripping me up (and I may not even know it!). For example, we got all the way to the front page of google for our main keyword and then it has been a yo-yo ride up and down since. You could get some specific info from me and use it as a case study to share with your readers... did we come on too strong, do we have broken links... what other things are stopping us from making it the top of the search engines (according to the numbers on Market Samurai, we should be at or near the top).
Love your work here... you are awesome and I honor your dedication to posting consistently!

3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Two weeks this week. I have been always been interested on the online business, yet uncertain what action to take or how much money or time I need to give. I started something four years ago and spent a lot more than I actually gain at the same time came out exhausted.
The reason I have been reading your blog is to establish whether you would be a trustworthy person who can actually help me to get to where I want to be. Establish who could I really work with that will actually assist me to built an online business that I can be absolutely successful in doing, rather than taking my resources - money and time - and run. I am seeking for guidance and clarity how to start an online business, what area would I be good at and love in doing at the same time bringing value to individual who comes across my path, what can I expect in regards to costs (would love it to be minimal start up costs as possible), what attitude or mindset do I need to have every day in order to enjoy and doing it every day. I want something that I would love and be excited in doing every day. I want the flexibility in being able to work anywhere in the world with just a laptop and a phone, the ability to be able to have more than enough resources when I start a family of my own, be able to give better future for my future children, be able to have whatever I want knowing I have plenty of resources to do it, be able to take the time off whenever I need it.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Onine Business
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Clarity - how to establish or identify his/her content for online business or identify what online business would be ideally for me (or individual). How do you tap into your mind and understand what you truly capable to do and will bring value.
There are so many marketeers out there that I do get a lot of their email, yet become sceptical whether I can trust them, as I feel it is one course after another, where does it stop and when does it actually start producing something.
Thank you for the space and for asking the question.

Hi there

Any advice will be welcomed
1) My name is John McGinn. I live in North Texas.
2) No, I do not have an internet business.
3) This is my first visit to your blog, but after looking around, I will probably be back. You have some great information here.
4) I enjoy reading articles on leadership.
5) I would like to see articles on leadership excellence, transformational leadership, and elite performers.
I enjoyed your book and quoted you in my book on business writing, Get to the Point!. The new edition is due out soon and I would like to send you a review copy. If you like it and can include it and a link in a tweet and/or blog, I would be very grateful. To what address should I send your review copy?
Beyond that, I'm interested in getting someone to help me produce a custom twitter background as you recommend in your book, and I'm always looking for ways to increase my mailing list for my monthly writing tips, Writamins, and monetize the names I already have. I do writing training, which is a fairly high-ticket item, so marketing is always a conundrum for me.
Thank you for asking for feedback. I see you are following Covey's principle, "first seek to understand, then to be understood" (Actually he did not invent that but he sure made it famous!)
Best wishes,
Elizabeth Danziger
Joel,
I bought your useful book, "Twitter Power". I am setting up a list building program with Harris Fellman using twitter to drive traffic to my blog, millionairesuccesshabits.com.
I am not studying adsence at this time.
Hello Joel,
I am TKG Namboodhiri a social media enthusiast interested in meeting and conveying ideas on the net. I do not yet have an internet business, but would like to offer my specialized consulting service. I am from India. I have been receiving your newsletter for the last one month or so, and this is my first visit to your blog. Keep on sending good advice on how to be a good person.
Thanks.
Hi, My name is Fran McCully and my business is called Your Administrative Solutions. My company is a virtual professional company. I specialize in Financial strategies, bookkeeping and business plan development. I found my way to your site seeking advise, ideas and training in social media. I have found some very worthwhile tips and ideas here.
My name is Jeremy Shuey and I am from Ono/Palmyra, PA. I don't have an internet business at this moment in time. I actually have some rental properties and am a real estate investor. A long time ago, (early 90's), I built a website for my fathers business. I loved doing that and I had it in the top spot on yahoo and google whenever you searched the key words that where in the website and in the code. I was happy with it. I was looking at getting into pay per click at that time, and yes, I do wished I would have. I just didn't know how to get people to come to my website and click on my banners to give me the money.
I have been following you for about 2 years now, and love reading all your success in your businesses. I also follow you on twitter. I don't know what to say about what kind of articles for you to do or post, because I like reading most everything you have. If you could write one thing, it would be, what could I do to make some money online, with limited time and resources available to me at this point. Maybe I am just not looking in the right places all the time, but I have a 40 hr/week job that honestly, I have to rely on to get through life right now. I am an RN, and although most days I like my job, there are things happening in this day and age that frustrate the hell out of me. Personally, I wished the hospitals, insurance companies and Obama's health care program would stop making us do more with less all the time. What is your life really worth? Evidently, according to the insurance companies, most peoples lives are only worth a little bit of money.
I guess I just get frustrated in keeping people alive in the intensive care unit and for what? Peanuts? Stress levels are high, maybe I should just blog about things and make more money by writing about things instead of actually saving lives. What do you think?
Jeremy Shuey RN CCRN, Realestate investor, Billionaire to be!
I am a danish author. I have just startet using Twitter power for Business group. My goal is via the internet to write a novell together with people all over the world.

Hi Joel,
My name is Rick Ng. I am staying in Penang, Malaysia.
My profession is IC design engineer. IC is the short form of "integrated circuit", which got something to do with electronics. I work for Marvell Semiconductor Inc.
Even though I got a daytime job, I still got a few of my own businesses that I am involving in. One online business and 2 offline businesses. As for online business, I am selling software that help people generate their sales letter for their products to sell online. As for the offline business, I own an indoor soccer center business and one software company expertise on accounting software and some other business software. Except for the software company, the other 2 businesses are profitable.
My plan is to sell more stuff online and thus I think copywriting skill is what I need to excel in. I am not good at it right now but I hope I can master it in the future.
I have been studying about internet marketing for the past one year and I want to keep learning it.
Anything that's about internet marketing, business, entrepreneurship, and copywriting are what I am eager to read and learn.
I wish one day I could quit my daytime job and just focus on my businesses.
Thanks & regards,
Rick Ng

2) I manage the Digital Content and Channels department for a division of a global management consulting firm. Traditionally the firm has focused on print and in-person content delivery; I am trying to coax the buisiness towards (1) more efficient and leveraged content delivery; (2) creating content in formats / via channels that are more convenient for our customers. Success so far: mixed. I am very much looking forward to 2010 though.
3) I read when prompted by a temptingly-scripted LinkedIn group alert.
4) The ones that I have time to read! If I could build 1-2 hours into every day to read blogs such as this one, I would be much the wiser.
5) If you could write about one thing, it would it be on how to map out a marketing-focused blog content strategy (we are on the verge of launching our revamped blog). Added bonus: most efficient wayts to promote that content at no cost other than people time.
Thanks for the invitation to comment. I see it worked very well!
Hi
I live in the North of England and run three businesses from my website. I own but have not finished reading your Twitter Power book and love the immediacy of the internet. However the tit-for-tat networking leaves me cold just as it does in non-virtual life. I believe the potential we now have to self-publicise needs to be firmly rooted in living a life of substance. Weeding out those offerings by people "positioning themselves as an expert" is life-consuming...Genuine connections are really important and we can make more of these now.
Hi joel, Rose here from Nairobi, Kenya. I am so exited to post my comment here and more so having received a booklet of 235 pgs of adsense secrets. This was waooh! and at last after having been receiving your artcles on a daily basis for about three years and wondering where to start here the step by step manual came. Thank you so much.
I always read your mails because i have been interested in making money online but i dint know how now i think i have the guide and i have already started writing my content and confident to make it.
If only you could help me market my site when its ready...you will have made me to be somebody finally.
Dear joel,
1) Who are you and where are you from?
I'm a work-at-home 53 year old from West Malaysia.Work-at-home means a newbie in internet marketing biz focusing on earnings through Google Adsense.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Started a website with an experienced local Adsense mentor who is a friend in year 2005/2006.The mentoring stopped early 2006. And since then going in alone learning the ropes.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Visiting your blog and newsletter since late 2006. Why? I find your articles most informative and helpful and HONEST.They've helped me understand what doesn't work as I work through the newbie level.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
What to do, how to do things and the why's in the world of Adsense. And your forums on feedback on our website reviews.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
How to find a niche that fulfills a passion and make money eventually. I'd researched on one of my passion i.e. starting a website on Christian Bible stories for kids, but this gets very little traffic. Where's the balance; to start something leveraging on your passion with little/no traffic or to research what the world is looking for and zoom in on something that can make some money.
cheers
I am an interior decorator in New Smyrna Beach. I took the class "Social Media 101" from Social Media Magic. I wanted to connect with other interior decorators as well as with customers.
I have found that I enjoy many other "conversations" and blogs from people that are in totally different fields.
I would like to generate more traffic to my website and blog.
I have a showroom and I sell furniture, decor, and window treatments, but I don't sell over the internet.
1) Who are you and where are you from? I am Sandra known as SandrasACRE across the net. I am from TEXAS.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I operate over 55 venues, blogs, social sites. My id on all these different store/auctions/networking sites is SandrasACRE.
Since we are living in such a bad economy, this has affected the results of my business.
I began as an internet marketer in 2005 on eBay. In 2005 - 2006, I was kept real busy with just the one internet venue. It started slowing down after 2006, and I started adding more and more venues to sell on. It has never picked back up to the original speed.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I have been visiting your blog for about 3 - 6 months. I read your blog for the internet marketing tips.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Articles which are useful to me are: business building tips, network marketing, low cost products to resell, finding other ways to make money online, new venues/blogs which are successful, etc.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
How to make money online without any start up cost.

HI, Joel!
I'm Phyllis from Lovejoy, GA. My internet biz consists of a fine art photography gallery (I'm the photographer) consisting of matted and optionally framed prints in various sizes for home decor and office accents. I read your blog because 1) I heard you present at a Peak Potentials event about two years ago, 2) I attended your Elevate conference in Denver, and 3) because the above two gave you enormous credibility in my eyes, I value your opinion. What I TRULY need right now is someone to help me identify ways of creating a sales funnel consisting of related info products (including someone to help me IDENTIFY such products)in order to create multiple streams of income during 2010. Thanks!
Hey Joel,
I read your email and sometimes go to your Blog but I rarely leave comments since I hate blogging... With that said, I want to find out how to get massive traffic without huhe cost... I have found that it is almost impossible in spite of all the claims out here...
Malcolm
Hi Joel,
My name is Alaia and I'm in Los Angeles. I was actually mentioned in your Twitter Power book, which to this day gets me a tweet every now and then saying "did you know you're in Twitter Power?" from someone I know who has just purchased your book.
I don't have an internet business, but I am working on incorporating more online sales into my business as I transition from One Organized Life (http://www.oneorganizedlife.com) to One Organized Business (http://www.oneorganizedbusiness.com ) over the next few weeks. I help business owners create solutions and strategies that help them make their business work better. From space organizing and filing systems to contact management, email marketing, and overall strategies to tie everything together - I help bring more efficiency to my client's lives. I'm looking forward to offering more products and services through my website so that I can work with more clients outside of the Los Angeles area.
I read your blog every now and then to keep up with what's going on in the industry. Maybe over a year and a half now? I mainly follow you on Twitter.
There isn't specific content I find most helpful - I can glean insight from all kinds of things. I also run a networking group in Los Angeles and come across many people involved in MLMs (in other networking groups, not my own) and it has been interesting to read the ongoing dialog over on the Arbonne post. But then, on the other hand, I get a lot of value out of what you write about social media as well.
As for what you could write about, I second the comments of Matt Stevens:
"If you could write about one thing, it would it be on how to map out a marketing-focused blog content strategy (we are on the verge of launching our revamped blog). Added bonus: most efficient wayts to promote that content at no cost other than people time."
comments, I would be thrilled if you would answer any or all of the following questions.
1) Who are you and where are you from?
I'm marc, a paramedic from toronto, ontario.
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success? I don't currently have an internet business, but would like to. I had started a blog briefly, listing type of emergency medical calls I've been on and the lessons people could benefit from by following them. It didn't seem to have any readers or followers, so i didn't continue. perhaps i was premature, or didn't have it set up correctly so that it could be seen.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it? i've been reading your blog for a couple of months because you have obvious success and know what you are talking about, and can relate it in a clear concise way.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you? any article where you clearly spell out a path to follow on how to create internet businesses, or blogs, i find those useful.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be? good question. i can't currently offer any sugeestions.
Hi Joel;
I am Ria Wallace, from Alabama. I am a landlord who strives to help have safer, drug free neighborhoods.
I am also the owner of a soy candle company, www.riascollectables.com. Prior to going on-line, I was and still am successful within the loacal market and in the neighboring State of Tennesee. What I have seen in the past several years after opening the e-store, is alot of traffic that just simply does not convert. As a result, now is the time to back up and re-evaluate just how much value does the internet really bring.
As far as how long have I been following your blogs, well I must admit, since Tim Knox joined FB. I am however one of those guilty parties that loves to read and simply does not take the time to respond.
The reason I love reading your blog is because of the no BS approach you take. In today's blogging world, it is hard to build trust. Therefore, I would much rather follow a blog that is blunt and to the point vs one that puffs air.
I like your recent approach of being open and willing to share. Many small business that are now joining the ranks of being online are at a disadvantage or I should say, we have obsticles that we have to overcome. I have found that by following blogs that teach openly, is a great fit for me personally.
Your question about if I had to write about one thing what would it be? The answer simply is, real life.
Thanks for being open enough to ask the questions.
Hi Joel
This will be short.
My Website is 2 wks old. I am probably asking too much of you to critique my site?
I have a lot to learn yet.
Your advice given in Adsense Secrets 4 is very much appreciated. I am reading it now because the Internet Course I am taking did not go into such detail as your experience has indicated.
I just want you to know how much I sincerely appreciate the helpful information you have given me so far. You have got the 'SOFT SELL' touch my friend. I am trying to follow suit and 1 blog so far at http://ezinearticles.com/?Understanding-Blogging---I-Wanted-to-Know-More&id=3626399
You should be glad you don't live next door, I'd be bugging a little for help with everything. My budget for quality info is zero right now.
Thanks,
Andy
Great stuff Joel, really helped in planning in what to do.
Getting people to actually comment on a blog is one of the challenges a webmaster faces. But as you have demonstrated here it is simply about changing they way you write and directly asking and interacting with people on your blog.
Hey Joel,
Got to read "Twitter Power" and a piece on your blogging experience in "Blogging Heroes" but never had the chance to check out your blog. It'll take some time to go through heaps of articles in this blog before having an idea what you'd never covered yet.
I'll be a regular at your place from now onwards, hope you don't mind :)
By the way, it's Chinese New Year, day 1 (of 15) at my side of the world - Malaysia.
Cheers!
Hello Joel
I am Angela Hackett from Surrey in England.
I don't have an internet business as such. I have a training and development company and have just launched a new wordpress website after several years with the old immovable dull one. My intention with this new interactive site is to eventually be in a position to offer more products online thus working towards an internet business to run alongside our more tangible one. So at the moment I cannot say what success I suppose it will be if I start to get a reasonable size list of subscribers together.
I have only just found you today, via Lewis Howes who I found in turn on twitter.
Please bear in mind that as I have only just met you you may have covered this already but something on building meaningful lists would be great. Not necessarily just to sell to but to connect with interested sorts so that what I am writing has some resonance with the world out there.
Great talking to you, must take this forward and leave more comments. But I guess that was the idea anyway.
Angela
Hi
This is Cecilia from Malaysia.
First of all, thanks for the commission that I earned from "My Contact Station" which has been wonderful in keeping spammers from my website and giving me my first income on the internet. Your adsense book has been a great help too.
Been reading your blog since 2006 and I find most of your articles helpful, sometimes funny but most importantly down to earth. Keep up the good work.
Hi Joel,
Interesting article, and so on that basis I will respond:
1) Who are you and where are you from?
I am Thomas or @TferThomas (on twitter) and I am an Account Manager with an international time and workload management training company, Priority Management (http://prioritymanagement.com.au/). I live on the east coast of Australia (Brisbane and Melbourne)
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
I currently do not have an internet business, but use social media (twitter mainly) to introduce others to Priority Management, and the power of mobilised technology, normally via BlackBerry. So far, everything is trending how I sort of thought it would (not that I had much idea to start with)
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
Guess what....first time. Thank you for your prompt on LinkedIn.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Mostly articles around social media and mobilised tech (BlackBerry) work for me.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
How to find silence in today's busy lifestyle.
Thanks again Joel,
Thomas
1) Who are you and where are you from?
Victoria Ring, Colorado Springs CO
2) Do you have an Internet business? If so, what is it all about? What level of success are you experiencing by your own measure of success?
Yes, I have owned nine (9) successful internet businesses since 1994. I consider myself to be "seasoned" but there is still a lot I can learn.
3) How long have you been visiting my blog or receiving my newsletter, and WHY do you read it?
I just found your blog and website through LinkedIn so I am unable to comment at this time.
4) What kinds of articles are most helpful to you?
Tips and success stories of people like you, me and the thousands of others who read your blog. When I trained marketing, I brought in comments and suggestions from a wide variety of successful people and it helped to field many new marketing ideas.
5) If you could have me write about one thing, what would it be?
Tips of marketing strategies that worked for you and why they worked. Also, marketing strategies that did NOT work and why.
If you were looking for interaction, YOU GOT It. It seems to me like you should change up your strategy a bit and maybe talk to your readers more. Now, I have not navigated through to see other articles but perhaps you are not engaging people the right way as you just did here. By the way, I am from NYC, name is James and I am the owner of various internet businesses. I too understand the importance of keeping readers engaged and interested and I do know it is not an easy task.
What an interesting question.......What do you want? Seems we get asked this question alot, well maybe I get asked this and the rest of you have it figured out. Recently I stopped in the see the new Narnia movie. Queen Lucy in this show was struggling with her own beliefs and got caught up in her own illusions of what she was and wanted. I find myself doing it too. Asland shows up in the mirror and gives her some advice. "We have nothing if not belief! and You doubt your value, dont run from who you are!" Perhaps its that simple. What am I choosing to believe about me? What value to I have? This has inspired me to go back to the basics and look in my own mirror and ask the question. Just for fun, typed the question into a google search line and ended up here. Ive discovered truth in the mirror is good. I am remembering who I am, and not listening to the judgmental, challenging and angry voices of the world. I know God did not create anything but a masterpiece. Now I know that I need some weight off and Im seriously out of shape physically, emotionally and spiritually but Im here, im in, im playing, life is good and the guy looking back has never been more honest. Maybe its just that simple.
I'm Michael, I'm 48 and I live in Toronto. I run several affiliate marketing sites. I found your blog by googling "what do I want"
You see, I'm in a mood. Anxious to get this Christmas thing over. Actually, I'd like to get this whole year over. I spent the first six months of this year from February on dealing with my mother's illness. She eventually died in June. And man, does that suck a lot of energy out of your life!
I'm ready to start moving ahead again. I'd love an article on getting unstuck, getting moving again, moving on, refocusing, reinventing ... anything like that, it's time for a change.
I'm working on my vision board right now, just took a break to write this e-mail.
Regards from a cold Toronto.
Michael

I live in Israel and have a blog in hebrew and spanish about awareness of financial education,

Try it!
