Where do you want to go in 2008?

Posted on December 19, 2007 12:36 AM by Joel Comm

With 2007 almost gone and 2008 on the way, I am doing quite a bit of reflecting on where I've been, where I am going, and how I can best serve you in the upcoming year.

So this is going to be an interactive newsletter, because I am counting on you to tell me what you would like to accomplish in 2008, and perhaps give me an indication of how I can best help you reach your goals.

I'm hoping you will participate, but I will encourage you to do so by giving away a free iPod to a random reader who posts a response on my blog. :-)

So here's what I would like to ask of you.

In as many words as are needed, describe where you see your Internet business today, where you would like it to be in 2008, and specific things that you believe you need in order to make your 2008 goals come to pass.

Simply post your answer in the comments below. I will be selecting a random poster to receive the free iPod on New Year's Day.

I appreciate your participating and wish you good luck in the iPod giveaway!

    Ah, 2008.
My goal is to master internet marketing to an extent that my fulltime income is made online, and that income is %300 greater than my current revenue, so that's about 300K.

I'm going to have to learn a lot, strategize a lot, and fully commit to this as a career. I want practical, step by step guidance that gives the big picture and teaches how everything is tied in together from a marketing point of view. I want to master the skills because I know the money will follow if I do that.

I know a lot of people have done this before me and I know I can do it to, with the concentrated effort it takes.

I am excited by the opportunity and look forward to using Joel's work as a resource and an inspiration.

    regards,

    Craig

Joel good question, I just mapped out the next 6 months and have found a couple of things that I'll need.

First off I'll need to find a way past procrastination. I've been studying IM for going on 5 years now and have only tried 2 things that have not lasted more than 3 months. Learned a bunch from both.

Second I think I'm going to need a support system, a master mind group or something. Like minded people to help push past some of the harder days of working toward a successful business. People with the same interest in IM to bounce ideas off of.

Beyond that I'd have to see what the next step is. Might need some help with forming JV deals, might be more web2.0 stuff.

For now those are the two big ones.

Now for where I see my business in the next year. I see my business going from what it is now, an idea on paper to $7,000 to $10,000 net a month this time next year, with plans written out to have that doubled in the next 6 months.

    Jason

P.S. what do you think of this mild Colorado winter we're having? :) Hard to believe this time last year we were under almost 4 feet of snow here in Denver.

Right now, I recieve a lot of emails for internet businesses and things, but I have not set up a site or even started yet. I guess because it seems intimidating. I have my own personal business and have yet to set up a website because the maintenance of one is out of my budget at this point--and I don't really know where to begin.

For next year, I want to reach my financial goals, and I think that if I started doing some internet business-type of stuff, I could get there. I guess what would help me is a starting point and then additional tips to help me as I go along.

    Hope this helps. Thanks!

I'm asking you to spend more time for newbies to become able to struggle in the webmasters field !

  12. F Says:

My goal is to start my own business. An online business would be ideal as it would allow for me to work from practically anywhere and would allow for a lot of freedom in my life.

I have a good office job right now and am making the amount of money I set out to make, still I am unsatisfied. I hate having to wake up every morning to work for someone else, in a job I don't love.

I am tri-lingual, I love to be creative and I have always enjoyed doing that which challenges me.

I want to have the kind of job that I'm excited about, a job I have ownership in, a job I can have fun doing.

    Where is this job?

    Please let me know!

    Best,

    F
