Where in the World Are You?

Where in the world are you?

I thought it would be cool for people to check in and share their location on this planet we share. Maybe even tell us what you like the most about where you live.

I recently arrived home from Washington, D.C. where I attended an internet marketing seminar. While I as there, I got to spend some time with Tom Kulzer of Aweber.com.

For those that don't know, Aweber is the service I use to send the majority of my email.

I love Aweber. :-)

Tom and his staff shared some pretty cool features that I was unaware of.

One of those features allows you to send email to your members based on their geographic location!

Check out this image...

How cool is it to see that there are people all over the world reading this newsletter? I find it very humbling to know that my words are reaching around the globe, and hopefully, having a positive influence on you.

So let's take this opportunity to stand up and make ourselves known!

Where in the world are you?

I'd love to hear what city, state, and country you are in.

I'm eager to know what your favorite thing is about where you live.

Tell me the best restaurant in your area. You never know when I might stop by and need to get a bite to eat. :-)

Of course, you may feel free to mention your web site as well.

I think I'll get it started.

I'm in Loveland, Colorado a few miles from the foothills. While I arrived here at the end of the winter, Spring is on the way and the weather is turning beautiful very quickly. As of this writing, I'm new to the area, but I have a feeling I'm really going to like it here.

Oh, and I found a great barbeque place on 14th street, not too far from my office. It's called Bar-B-Q Bob's. Tell Bob I sent ya.

So how about you?

Where in the world are you?

There are 11 small towns here ranging from 11,000 app. in Alamosa to 542 in Blanca. Monte Vista has around 4500. Best food at the Mountian View. Mexican and traditional. Walmart in Alamosa as well as Adam's state college. Not much else. Wolf Creek ski area and Cranes that migrate here. Please come and visit. I could listen to you for hours and get your help getting my web page up and running. Still havn't got it even though i found a free design site with templates and everything. I'm a handy man and this is a stretch for me. I could use your advice. Thanks. Ken Drake

  2. Maureen Sequeira Says:

Hey Joel, I am Maureeen Sequeira and I am From Elk Grove CA. It is a small town just south of our capital Sacramento on the Delta. The kiving here is still a little counrty but, I must say with the booom we have had in the last few years we have almost tripled in size. The Bay Area (san Francisco area) People found out they could buy here relativily cheap and commute to work. So here they came. It kind of split the town in two. The old elk grovers and the bay area Elk grovers ....it is really a different world on that side of town. You can go anywhere to have the best food anywhere. Tha tempature is usually mild and we have greeen every where because The Sacramento and San Jaqiun Rivers run thru tis valley. I have a boat and love to take my family and freinds out on the lake (which there are 10 in 1 hr drive) so we have a great choice of type of laakes we can go to also. Look me up when you come out some time and we will have lucnh on the Lake. Do you like to fish? WE Do !!!

  3. Ed Pulsifer Says:

Hi Joel, I'm in Northbrook, IL...which I believe is your boyhood home. Northbook is about 20 miles north of Chicago's loop. There's a wealth of good restaurants in this area. I'm still working on getting a website up and running. I've made a few abortive attempts at it, but I'm still trying. I could use your help anytime you want to sit at my elbow and guide me to the correct choices.(just kidding).

  4. Willy Vanelderen Says:

    Hi Joel,

You got the country right. I think you came up with Mechelen because my ISP is based there. No, I live in Wellen, Limburg, Flanders, Belgium and maybe some day The United States of Europe.

Compared to American standards I live near Mechelen but for us Belgians 100 km is a long way from home. Speaking of that in a radius of 100 km, I think it's about 60 miles we have 5 countries and speak 3 different languages.
Many of us speak more or less fluidly 4 languages without any noticeable accent.

    Try to beat that!

  5. Matthew Rongey Says:

It says I live in Dugger, which I have never heard of, and the only Dugger weather.com finds is Dugger, Indiana but I live in the Sacramento, California area.

  6. Go Tjiong Ming Says:

    Hi, Joel!

You got it wrong: I live in Jakarta of Indonesia, not in Singapore as you guessed. But, yes, Jakarta is about 2 hour flight from Singapore.

Jakarta, as all Indonesian territory, lie in tropical region; so, we only know 2 seasons: dry and rainy seasons. Now, we have plenty of sunshine up to October. We have a lot of rain around January (even last January we had big flood here in Jakarta).

Jakarta is a melting pot of many tribes of Indonesian. So, we have plenty different cuisines: some comes with sweet taste, others spicy. Most people who visit Indonesia find them exquisit.

    OK, Joel. Talk you soon

  7. Shairi Says:

    Hello Joel,

Unfortunately, I'm in Kota Kinabalu now, State Capital of Sabah, one part of Malaysia. The most popular tourist attraction is Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia.

I'm glad if you could drop by and invite you to try our famous seafood restaurant and mentor me how to create a web my weaknesses and sure that there are a lot of people waiting for you here.

  8. Jim Turner Says:

Joel... I'm in upstate NY. About 70 miles N of NYC. It's a beautiful part of the country. Spring is finally here - the snow has melted... almost. Pretty soon the black bear will start their migration thru this area for higher ground up north.

Thing I like most about this area is its proximity to NYC. In certain terms, you can have your cake and eat it too. NYC has just about anything you'd want in culture, entertainment and adventure.

But it is quiet and peaceful where I live. I'm a freelance copywriter and I find it important to be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of a large city like NYC.

The Hudson River is about a 10 minutes away - I can go there with my laptop and create copy in peace.

Everyone should take the time to visit upstate NY during a vist to NYC.

    Thanks.... Jim

  9. Pulkit Dhingra Says:

    Hi Joel,
I'm from New Delhi, India and its nice to know that you are very famous here as a lot of people have subscribed to your list.
Well my favorite restaurant in the area is Sagar Ratna, known for the South and North Indian Dishes.
Well, I would love to have you as my guest in New Delhi and take you around in the modern state-of-art Metro trains inaguarated recently.
Currently I don't have any website because I am a little confused about where I should start since there are a lot of opportunities for an online business. But I am looking at something which is very economical to start with. Maybe you can help me out at this.
But do visit India soon in near future. Again I would love to have you as my Guest.

  10. Janet Taylor Says:

    Hi Joel,

Really enjoyed your book.  You've got me in the right state but the wrong place.  Your email put me in Sunnyvale which is located in the Silicon Valley in Northern California.  I live in Anaheim which is in Orange County south of Los Angeles.  Of course, Anaheim is most famous for Disneyland.  We've got lots of great restaurants because tourism is huge here.  Knott's Berry Farm still features one of the best down home chicken dinners.  Anaheim is also home of the Angels and the Mighty Ducks and Orange County has very long, sandy beaches.  Our best and worst feature is the great weather.  It is the main reason SoCal is a pretty crowded place.  But, there's lots to do!

  11. Kate Rexford Says:

Hi Joel, I'm a long way from Dallas---I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am originally from the San Diego area, but have lived in Michigan for 50 years (which gives you a clue to my age!). I love Michigan and the change of seasons, always something new to look forward to. If you are at all inclined toward Oriental cuisine, my favorite place is Menudos. It's a buffet with all kinds of wonderful stuff including a nice selection of sushi. I have a daughter who lives in CO Springs, so I am frequently in your neck of the woods as well. I have built a website for a fellow I was in partnership with, but the partnership has recently dissolved, so I am currently without a site---looking for inspiration on picking the perfect domain name and getting started on my own...SOON!

  12. Caruana Walter Says:

  13. Steve Says:

You must read Eric Holmlund newsletter.

  14. Mike Rogers Says:

    Hi Joel,

I live in Charleston, Mississippi... Population 2700 and not growing at all. I love the quiet seclusion that my wife and I enjoy by living in the country. We have a black labrador retriever named Bell and six grandkids that like to visit. The best place to eat is "Big D's" Catfish house.

  15. Nafidzah Ibrahim Says:

I was born and raised in Washington, DC, so I have been here all my life. It is a great place to live because it is accessible to everything. There is so much to do and see.

The Metropolitian area of Washington, DC has a place that I think you would love to visit and eat. It has a sothern cuisine and the food is outstanding. It is located appoximately 10 miles from DC in Maryland and its name is "Carolina Kitchen."

I am a new babie in this arena and I have not set up my business as yet. There is so much to read and learn so that I can make the six+ figure income that will take care of me the rest of my life. Social Security sure can't do it.

Thank you for all of your help and wisdome. Also the oppoturnity to tell you where I live and a great place to eat.

  19. Mala Says:

    Hello...
I am from the small port town called Tuticorin south of Madras (Chennai) - in the state of Tamil Nadu, in South India.
Historically, Tuticorin used to be a Portuguese settlement as can be seen in the beautiful Lady of Snows church and the Catholic population in town. This is a sleepy small town that is also an industrial area....Shipping and fisheries are major industries along with chemical industries like Sterlite, SPIC, TAC, Heavy Water, Thermal etc. Tuticorin used to be famous for its pearls ......and huge tortoises....but then....nothing remains today. We still have the lovely Hare Island...a natural beach...where we can find beautiful sea-shells ......Eating out is not a big part of the small town culture. Yet, you would be surprised that at SPIC motel.....the food is the best!! Close to the sea...the ambience is also good at Spic Motel...and the chef is good at continental food...I recently gotto taste a salad made of shredded cabbage and pineapple bits.....wow..it was so delicious...you should be here to taste it!!
Welcome to the town of Tuticorin!

  20. Jack Wallace Says:

    Hi Joel,
Ur projection was close..i live in Nigeria and not in London as projected, however Nigeria is relatively close to a more active region like London...u are resourceful Joel!

  23. Rick Stokes Says:

Hi, Joel! You were close when you guessed Haines City, FL, as my location. I'm actually about 100 miles south of that city. I live on the banks of Lake Okeechobee, the second largest freshwater lake in the contiguous US. It's arguably the best largemouth bass fishing location in the world. My little town is also famous for its cowboys and Indians. Yes, we have both here and are proud of them. Beef cattle raising is a prime industry here, so steak is high on the list of favorite foods. We have a few world class restaurants, including the Speckled Perch Steakhouse and a four star Mexican restaurant known as Los Cocos Tortilleria. Thanks for all the guidance. Keep up the good work and come visit when you get a chance!

  24. Hans F Says:

    Hi Joel,
Hans F from Kristiansand S, Norway here.

I am originally from the northern part of Norway, but I took a giant leap to the LOVELY southern part in 1998, and I have not regretted it one day since. Not only does the topografic latitude of the globe include an almost snow-free winter, it also includes the season of the year that is completely missing in the northern part of the country (... formally and also known in the general public as spring ...). Not to mention the summers here. They are simply salvation chapters to be spoken highly about for years to come. Period. And when you include that I live only a three minute pedal-ride from the sea, you probably understand where I spend my lazy summer days... ,-) So I have more or less decided that I will reside here until my assigned and numbered days are up.

The city in itself is my favourite place. It simply needs to be experienced, preferably at summer time. E.g. only a 5-10 minute car ride, in any direction, and you are at the sea / beach / outdoor recreation area, not to forget the popular the city beach. If you have kids, the city zoo is a sure winner. It's the top most visited zoo / amusement park in the country. You need at least two-three days to 'cover it all'. Otherwise, plenty of bars & restaurants within the city, should cover all taste organs's.

    Regards,
    HF ,-)

  25. Hanif Khan Says:

You have an excellent memory,Joel, if you could remember me from Aurora CO. I do live in Aurora normally and love it here, for I have many pleasant associations with Aurora. I am in Peshawar, Pakistan, right now, on a business trip. Peshawar is known for many exotic things, Rugs & Carpets, and Rosewood Furniture being the major ones. My sons Imported Rugs and Furniture last month that sold out like hot cakes. So I have to replenish their stock from here. I shall certainly invite you to Aurora where we shall have our next exhibition. But you are welcome to Peshawar too, where we shall receive you with Royal Salute - seven to eleven guns salute!

  26. Liam Says:

    Near enough, Joel.

I live in Watford, which is outside Greater London, but contiguous with the connnurbation.

I would heartily recommend the Anchor on St. Albans Road for its excellent doner kebabs.

[Incidentally, I am familiar with Bar-B-Q Bob's from "Diagnosis murder", but I suspect this may be a spurious connnection.]

  27. Cecelia McCarty Says:

    Hi Joel,
I live in beautiful-sunny San Diego, CA! let's see what do I like best - the countryside. There are hills everywhere and beautiful country roads (with not too much traffic). I like to drive around the area, explore, and find new places to love! I haven't found my all time favorite restaurant yet - there are so many really good restaurants around and I haven't tried all of them yet.

  28. Marie Noble Says:

    HI Joel,
I'm here in Hallie Wisconsin - about 75 miles west of Minneapolis Minnesota population of maybe 400. Finally hit 80 here -of course that DOESN'T mean spring is here YET! LOL (they're talking about lower 40's the rest of the week). The best place to eat here is the Chippewa Cafe. You will NEVER leave this place hungry!!!! If you do, then you never finished you plate. If you come up, you can sit at OUR private table ;-) We never cook at home anymore, why should we when you get wide variety of DELICIOUS ethic foods at a very affordable prices! Bad thing is they are ALWAYS packed so you DO need reservations - funny for such a small little cafe in the middle of no where.

  29. Brad Says:

    Hi Joel,
I love Colorado! I was just there this month, a little south of you in Longmont. I live in Lindstrom, MN which is the next city up from Chisago City. We are a little Swedish town with about 3000 people. I love living in the "country". I currently work in Minneapolis, but would love to do Internet Marketing full time. I don't have a website yet, but am working on it. The best restaurant up here is called The Porterhouse, a little hole in the wall with very outdated decor, but great steaks!

  30. Marie Noble Says:

Sorry Joel I ment EAST of MN. Little laged from the move - ALL I see are BOXES UUG! You of all people know the drill haha Thank goodness my business runs it's self......yes even while I moved. It's all automated so the only thing I have to do is JUST check emails and see how much I made- that's easier then finding a can opener right now LOL.

  34. Athena Says:

Hey Joel! What's happenin'? Yeah, man, I am from the beautiful country of The Bahamas - all 700 islands and keys - the place where God lives, I am sure. The weather is just fabulous - the sun is out, the breeze is blowin' and I am chillin' in fine form, I can tell you. I live in the Nassau (capital) on the island of New Providence. Our weather is a lot like the Florida Keys and Carolinas - give or take a few degrees here and there, so we are family :-) We have fabulous restaurants, from the local Fish Fry and world famous Poop Deck(good native 'downhome' food) at Arawak Cay to the gourmet (Marina Village at Atlantis on Paradise Island; Cafe Matisse in Downtown Nassau; Traveller's Rest, West Bay Street and the all time favorite The Shoal Restaurant. They all serve mostly native foods - you will absolutely love it here. There is snorkelling, swimming with the sharks, island hopping, sailing, deep sea diving, nature excursions, museum visits - so much to see and experience - not to forget the swimming, tanning, Bahama Mamas and Kalik beers! There is also Junkanoo in June and at Christmas and New Years. The Bahamian experience awaits you!

  35. Sara Says:

    Hi Joel,
Well, Eric kinda beat you to this but I'll post anyway :-P I live in sunny San Diego, CA and love it here. I lived in CO for about 3 years, Boulder mostly, 4 corners and Denver before coming here. I admit to being used to more cosmopolitan places, though San Diego is quite casual. My favorite place to eat? Mimi's Cafe, hands down. American food with a French flair. Hope you get here someday.

  38. Joe Says:

    Hi Joel

Are you Eric from Eric's tips with a new face??
Is quite frustrating to see the same Marketing tactics to promote the same product in different websites. I thought you were better than this.

  39. Ana Says:

    Hi Joel,
No, I don't live in or anywhere near Flourtown. I'm in southeastern Pennsylvania, though -- in Warminster, about 20 miles outside of Philadelphia. I'm only here temporarily. I was born in Philly but spent most of my adult life in L.A., and also lived abroad in Spain and Asia, where I was most recently -- and where I'm going back to!
I need to know how to start an internet biz from abroad. I don't have a site yet because, like so many I see here on your list, I don't know how to do it.

  40. Rod Ritchie Says:

    Hi Joel,
Looks like you might have to ask the Aweber folk to refine their software so that you know where your subscribers really come from.

And, next time, some original sales copy would be good.

  41. Joel Says:

Eric Holmlund and I were at the SAME meeting with Tom Kulzer of Aweber. We were both impressed and both talked about doing this on our blogs. Just because he did it first doesn't mean I copied him, nor did I steal any of his copy. There is no affiliate link for Aweber in my message. I'm just sharing the service with people because I like it. Those of you who are so critical need to just chill out... perhaps my list isn't for you. In which case, you'll find the unsubscribe link conveniently at the bottom of the email.

To the majority who had something nice to say, thanks for replying. Great to hear from you. :-)

    Joel

  42. Elitsa Says:

Greetings from the *heart" of Europe!

You got it, Joel.I live in Lovech.
It's about 130 miles from the capital.
It's not my birthplace but I like it because it's quiet.
    I spent several years in
the capital where live is very intensive.
We have very hot summer( as in Texas) and cold winter.
We have remarkable beach resorts, the famous Black sea
    and picturesque mountains and rivers.
Bulgarian cuisine is quite different and very delicious.
There're some unique meals that you'll never eat
anywhere else. The national drink in Bulgaria is
    Rakia - it's compared to brandy.It's a strong alcohol
    drink.
If you visit Bulgaria, I'm sure you'll love this
country from the first sight.Thousand of
tourists visit our resorts every year..
You have to come here someday! :-)

  43. Salamah Shah Says:

    Hi Joel,
Yes, you are right, I live in Singapore. Geographically it is an island lying at the southern tip of Malaysia. We are a cosmopolitan progressive country, very small-sized but big at heart. Like Indonesia and Malaysia we experience only two seasons, hot and rain. Sadly we do not have mountains as we are mainly lowlands. Have you been to Singapore? Well, the food here is FANTASTIC! Chinese, Indian, Arab , Malay,Western cuisines are common and very affordable. Tourists come here for the food and we have very, very good infrastructure and tall modern buildings. Enough said, I am proud of my country and if you drop by you won't feel lost.I am quite new to internet blogging, marketing etc. Am really excited as it opens me to the world. Fun to know other people and 'chat' with them or send emails. Now I am still in the process of learning more about internet marketing. Slowly but surely I will have my own domain and learn how to make money online!

  44. nan Says:

I'm in Asheville, NC - just getting started in all this - trying to figure it out. I appreciate your persistence in sending out the emails.
    Thanks.

  45. Dan Says:

    Hi Joel,

I live in Prescott Ontario Canada. Its a small town on the shores of the St Lawrence River. This river separates Canada from the U.S, in fact I can stand on my front steps and look out over the river to see the U.S shore on the other side. I am a proud Canadian, but sure do like to go to Florida in March(just got back).A good place to eat is Repetes Rest. in Brockville a few miles to the west.I am just to create my first website. I am really looking forward to going online.

  46. Michele Hamblin Says:

    Hi Joel,

Great technology, this - and yes, I'm on Eric's list (through you, I think?)as well.

Anyway, Aweber is a little off, but out in the middle of Australia, that's close enough to grab my attention.

I live in Nevertire, New South Wales. Pop.103 - and even though I'm originally a city girl (from Auckland, NZ) - my husband is a farmer, so now-days it's 'Life on the Farm is kinda laid back....'

Not too much in the way of fine cuisine for 100kms or more, so we'd probably take you to the local - the Nevertire pub for a few beers & a bistro meal. Lots of cheerful faces, and good natured ribbing.

It's a great place to bring up kids - and even though we're just coming out record drought, I feel very lucky to live way out here!

I am fascinated by the concept of making my income from the 'net - even in 'Almost the Outback', Australia. I have to just stop learning, and start doing!

  47. Scott L Bly Says:

    HI Joel;
Yeah that software for sending mails to specific geographical locations is cool.
But one request, please ask Tom Kulzer to change the name of "MADRAS" to "CHENNAI".It has been changed to this long back.
Yeah i am still in Chennai and proud to be in here.
No IM seminars are conducted at chennai, i would like that to happen soon, here almost every youth is on fire to create his own fortune, so the seminars would go well, but the only thing the price if set in high price dollars, it will be little tough, so if u can reduce the price a little bit and provide the seminar , the seminar will be a great success. So, if you are interested in doing any seminars right here, and if you need some assistance regarding local arrangements, just send me an email.

    Hi Joel!

Aweber got the town wrong - in fact, that town is in a neighboring state. I live in a town of about 20,000 in Southern New Hampshire, roughly 50 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. (In fact, I'm a Massachusetts native.) NH is a great state to live in, particularly since we have no sales tax and no state income tax! We have beautiful ocean beaches, a string of some of the most scenic lakes in the nation, and lots of mountains, so NH is a big tourist state. Accordingly, we have wonderful restaurants, amazing shopping, and quite a variety of attractions throughout the state. We also have lots of colleges, with probably the most famous being Dartmouth. As many of the US residents probably know, NH has the first presidential primary election in the country, so we're already being besieged by all of the candidates. After awhile, they make me cranky!

I'm now in the process of getting my website ready to go online. Fortunately and happily, my husband designs websites and is an exhibiting photographer, and has a long background in graphic arts and commercial printing. So ... he is an invaluable help to me. I'll be selling a lot of my own products, so their creation has been a very time-consuming endeavor. Six years ago, I didn't even know how to turn on a computer, thus the technical aspects of starting an online business has turned me into a student again!

Thank you for allowing me to be on your list. I have thoroughly enjoyed your newsletter and blogs, and have learned many things from you!

Hello Joel, the aim of the system is a little off. We live in a rural area on the outskirts of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Whitmore lake is roughly 10 miles to the west of us but is home of our local ISP. Being this close to a college town lets us partake in quite a variety of foods along with enjoying the nite life.

I recently retired from Ford Motor Company and have just started to take a serious look at making money via the "net". This has a huge potential but the hard thing for me is knowing where to start. There is so much info out there a person could easily go into information overload if he is mot careful.

Thanks for keeping up the e-mails that I will continue to read and grow.

    Hi Joel,
I do not live in Lincoln but Blenheim in the South Island of New Zealand.
Blenheim has a population of about 22,000 and is famous for its wine, sunshine and the truly magnificent scenic water ways called the Marlborough Sounds.
We are in our autumn when we can still get about in our shorts and shirt sleeves. As I write this my dog (Rommel- a poodle x bichon frise ) and I are viewing the grapes awaiting haversting and anticipating a mouth watering wine vintage.
    Best wishes

    G'day Joel,
Considering the large proportions of the world, your software was pretty good. I live in Melbourne city in the state of Victoria in Australia. Most of Australia is in the grip of drought but I still love living here. Melbourne gets all four seasons a week usually - the weather is extremely changeable. Victoria is the garden state and I love all the trees even in the middle of the city. My favourite restaurant is La Porchetta - moderately priced fabulous Italian.

Thanks for the opportunity to contribute. Bibi from down under.

PS I don't understand what is with Jittery Joe and Rude Rod. It seems some people are not happy unless they are criticizing and pulling down other people. You are a better man than I because I would delete them from my list.

Keep up the great emails Joel.

It's a coastal location, facing the Straits of Malacca,a busy commercial shipping waterway. Indonesia is just across the other side of this waterway. Our location is renowned for it's spicy seafood gourmet, with a an abundance of eating outlets. Hi Joel,
You got me wrong as well. Well, half of it anyway. I am definitely in the great state of Colorado but not in Littleton as suggested by your e-mail but in Aurora.

I've lived in Colorado all my life and could definitely throw a fit about all the outsiders moving in here, as I've read so many others do. But I won't go there cause I know there is no way to stop it and I guess people are going to move here regardless of what I say. It is indeed a beautiful state with lots to see and do.

My favorite restaurant in the area would be Red Lobster! I adore seafood.

That's it for now. Thanks for all your hints and tips you pass along to all of us.

    Hi Joel,

You must know that you have a customer and reader in Hongkong. That wonderful metropole as part of the Peoples Republic of China after 1997.

Our city had just finished the fuss over the small circle election rally, debate, and a lot of funny things arround the general. However, a great move had been made towards democratic movement in this region. Interested?

As generally expected, Hong Kong has a lot of choice for dining or eating outside. Thailand spicy food is my favorite. Tungyum Soup in Thailand is famous for its spicy and sourness tast. A Giant shrimb in Tungyum Soup is specially good and tasty during this season. Beside Thailand food, whatever national food you name it, you will find it here in the city center of Tsimshatsui. It is truly A fantastic attraction for international tourists too.
I would like to express a warm welcome to all Joel's subscribers to come to this city by any time of the year. Wether it is for fun, for business or just meeting friends. When you plan to come, I think I will be there to help you find more interesting attraction. At least, you can come to my cyber cafe shop for free internet surfing for as long as you stay in a guest house arround Mongkok area.

This is my cyber cafe www.hinbar.com, though in Chinese, but I am always there to see international guess.

Hotel is expensive though. But if you don't mind, you may stay in some clean guest house for 30 bulks a day. I run a cyber cafe arround that, many good guest house are offered for bed and breakfast, as my close neighbours.

    Well!

I just love to see friends doing internet business, and exchange ideas.

    :-)

    Hi Joel and fellow marketers

I am from the land down-under, New Zealand. How are these people getting these exact positions? I live in a small township called Southbridge 52k from Christchurch where I lived most of my life. I am about 15min drive to Lincoln as mentioned by post of Max.

New Zealand has a population of about 4 million and has such a variable landscape. Two hour drive to snow capped mountains and 5 hour drive from where I live to golden sand beaches in Nelson - top of South Island. We love sailing and venture there every Christmas holidays.

It would take about 3-4 hours to travel from the east to the west coast in the South Island. It is small and we love it.

Everything (lakes, beaches etc)are only a stones throw away.

Wishing you all health, wealth and happiness
    Noeline

  72. Yolande Robert Says:

    Hi Joel,

Montréal is a good approximation for where I live.

Actually, I am in Laval, the next island North of Montréal.

I lived in Montréal most of my life, except for when I moved to Toronto, from June 1970 to September 1972. I moved to Laval in June 2000.

Laval is located on Ile Jésus (Jesus Island) and now occupies the whole island. Whan I was growing in Montréal, there were a bunch of villages and rural parishes, on Ile Jésus. In the late 1960s, they merged to form a town, suburb of Montréal.

Since then, Laval has become a city in its own rights, the second largest in Québec, after Montréal.

Now, we still have some rural areas, as well as a big industrial park and and a technological park.

We have rich and poor residential areas, shopping centers, cultural and health facilities, a major college and branches of several universities. We have the Cosmodome and several nature centers with rare species of local plants and animals.

The suburban train that links Montréal to the North shore has four stations in Laval. In a few months, we will have two subway stations linking us to Montréal and the south shore.

We have a great many restaurants ranging from haute cuisine to hot dogs joints, along with international specialties from all over the world.

My favorite is a buffet, La Stanza, at the corner of Laurentides Blvd. and St-Martin Blvd. It has won the Consumer's Choice Award almost every year for the last 12 to 15 years. It is a great place to take the grandchildren to.

For Dan, from Prescott, Ontario, it is about an hour's drive, entering Québec at Rigaud. In the summer, sometimes we go camping in Prescott county. Whatever wheather is there, it usually comes here about three hours later. Beautiful area!

By the time the St-Lawrence river reaches here, it is no longer near the American border, as in Prescott. Here, it is about an hour and a half from Vermont and two hours from New York. Here, two of its affluents come to swell it as passes between Montréal and its South shore: Rivière-des-Prairies (Prairies River) between Montréal and Laval, and, Rivière-des-Mille-Iles (Thousand Islands River) between Laval and the North Shore.

Going from Montréal's Pierre-Eliott-Trudeau airport to the magnificent Mont-Tremblant Resort, unless you want to make a big detour, you need to pass through Laval. Why not make a little stop on the way?

Now, on a different note, I read the other posts. Most are very interesting. However there are some people who have problems. So do I! Please, not here, not now!

Joel, may I suggest that you ask people to write to you again on various given subjects, one at a time, including one where you could do a little troubleshooting to help your people make more money for you and them. If we are here, it is because your insights are appreciated.

Thank you all for all the positive posts and Joel for giving us the opportunity to make these posts.

    Best regards,

    Yolande

    Hi Joel,

Greetings from the Great White North...lol. You are correct, I am resently located in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. But to be honest with you...I am an expieranced Globe Trotter. I speak 5 languages including the 2 in Canada, English and Quebecqua...French with a sloppy accent. What can I tell you about Winnipeg...it's very cold in the winter like minus 20 celcius and alot of snow, but in the summer we have great weather. If I have to pick one thing I like about Winnipeg, it would be a Festival we hold every summer. It is called "Folkarama". Because we are a strong Ethnic City, every Country representative celebrate for 2 weeks their Country, by showing their Cutural Fares. As in Traditional Dance, Food, Drink and Memorabilias. One can go from Povilium to Povilium with a pass and Eat, Drink and be Merry. Personnally, my favorite one is the Downunder Club from Australia and New Zealand. There are only 134 people from these 2 Countries in Manitoba, so when they put on a Show they go all out. If you every come to Winnipeg, let me know and I will show you the City.
    Cheers!

  74. Carol King Says:

I live in Tampa, Florida, U.S.A. The best thing about the area is the lack of cold weather, maybe 10 days this winter. I have lived here since 1965 but the city has grown too much. Worst thing about the area is the traffic and on record as having the worst drivers in the country and as my occupation currently is a driver I must 100% agree with this record. As a water person the beaches are the best asset of the area. Great restaurant if you are hungry for a really good steak is Frontier Steak House on Sligh Ave. Live music entertainment Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. They make a killer Margarita also. Best seafood is Colonnnade on Bayshore Blvd., view of Tampa Bay and scenic walk. Best Cuban Sandwiches and other Cuban food is Brocato's Sandwich Shop on Columbus Ave. and the famous Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, great party spot also. Many things to do and see in Tampa and surrounding areas.

  75. Clement Says:

We most usually go to Effingham if we go out to eat. Thannks for the gift, I am realy enjoying it. When it comes to a web
