Work in any industry long enough, and you'll find that there's a knack to it. Get that right and it doesn't matter what else you do, you'll always make money.
For retailers, the rule is to treat the customer as king. For racing drivers, speed is king. For Internet publishers, content is king.
And for Squidoo publishers?
Well, that's a little different.
I've been having a lot of fun with my Squidoo lens recently. I've found that it's a great way to send streams of traffic to my AdSense sites and it's earning me a few bucks in both affiliate and direct sales too.

But content isn't king there. At least not the sort of content that people tend to put on their websites and blogs. That's a mistake that many people on Squidoo tend to make.
Look at other people's lenses and you'll find that most of them promote the person who set it up. In principle, there's nothing wrong with that. Your lens should promote you. But first it has to deliver what the user has come for: information about a topic.
You have to offer links to your site, but also to other sites that users interested in your topic would find helpful. You can place links to products, but they have to be products that people will want to use... and you have to talk them up if you want to make sales. You have to add text modules and use them to offer advice.
In short, you have to act as the topic guide that Squidoo expects you to be. With so many people getting that wrong, if you get it right, you'll find that success will come very easily. You'll rise up Squidoo's rankings, win more traffic, earn more in AdSense revenue and affiliate sales... and brand yourself as an expert too.
The principle is really very easy. It just takes effort. Like success with AdSense.
