Over 45 years in tech. From my first computer in 1980 to building one of the first websites in 1995 to AI today — I’ve been leading and pioneering in the arena for every technological shift, and I’m still standing.

I got my first computer in 1980 — a TRS-80 Model 1 with 4K of RAM — and taught myself basic code and how to use a computer before most people had heard the word “modem.” By 1995 I’d built one of the first 18,000 websites in the world. Every new wave of technology felt like a puzzle I had to solve.
Some of those puzzles turned into bestselling books. Others turned into businesses, podcasts, products, and stages around the world. The thread through all of it? I show up early, I learn by doing, and I share what I find. That’s been the formula since day one.

First Computer
Got my hands on a TRS-80 and taught myself how to use it. No YouTube tutorials. No Instagram. Just a manual, curiosity and a passion for the technology. This is where it all began.
1995
One of the First 18,000 Websites
Built WorldVillage.com when the entire web was smaller than a small town. The internet felt like a frontier, and I wanted to homestead. I knew this was the future.
1998
ClassicGames.com
Turned a passion for games into one of the top gaming destinations on the web. Millions of visitors, long before “content creator” was a job title.
2006
NY Times Bestseller
Published The AdSense Code and hit the New York Times bestseller list. It became the playbook for a generation of online publishers figuring out how to actually make money on the web.
2006-current
17 Books Published
Wrote 15 more books covering digital business, social media, Twitter, mobile apps, and live video. Each one tackled the platform or trend that was reshaping how people connected and did business.
2015
TEDx Speaker
Took the TEDxMileHigh stage to talk about something that still drives everything I do: being human in a digital world. Technology changes. People don’t.
2017
Bad Crypto Podcast Launches
Co-founded what became one of the most popular crypto podcasts in the world. Now in its 9th year with more than 10 million downloads, still going strong, still making blockchain make sense.

Went deep into the decentralized web. Minted over 1.5 million NFTs. Built, collected, invested, and helped thousands of people understand what was real and what was hype in the crypto space.

I’ve never been able to look at a new technology and not wonder what it could do. That curiosity is what got me online in 1995, into crypto in 2017, and into AI before most people had heard of ChatGPT. I don’t chase trends. I follow genuine fascination.
