How to Write a Book Speaker
Why Joel
My publishing career spans three decades, from The AdSense Code, which became a New York Times and USA Today bestseller and defined an era of online monetization, to Twitter Power, which was the definitive guide to business on Twitter, to The Fun Formula and Be the Legend. I have worked with major publishers and self-published. I have navigated the shift from traditional publishing to print-on-demand to AI-assisted writing. My upcoming book AI Made Simple with Morgan James represents the next evolution. I am also a TEDx speaker and a Guerrilla Marketing Hall of Fame inductee. I do not teach theory. I teach from 17 real books that real people bought and read.
What Your Audience Gets
Your audience gets a battle-tested roadmap from someone who has been through the entire publishing process 17 times. I cover how to find your book idea, structure your content, push through the messy middle, and get it published. I also address the elephant in the room: AI-assisted writing. What it can do. What it cannot do. And how to use it without losing your voice. I weave in my Disruption Confidence Cycle to help aspiring authors push past the fear and self-doubt that kills most books before page one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Joel cover AI-assisted writing in this keynote?
Absolutely. AI is changing how books get written, and most authors are either ignoring it or using it wrong. I cover how to use AI as a writing partner without letting it flatten your voice. My upcoming book AI Made Simple is itself an example of how to blend human creativity with AI tools.
Is this keynote only for people who want to write business books?
No. The principles apply to memoirs, self-help, fiction, and nonfiction of all kinds. That said, most of my experience is in nonfiction, so audiences of entrepreneurs, professionals, and thought leaders get the most specific and actionable advice.
Can Joel also do a workshop format for aspiring authors?
Yes. I offer both a 45 to 60 minute keynote and a half-day workshop format. The workshop goes deeper into outlining, writing workflows, publishing options, and AI tools. It is hands-on and participants leave with a real plan, not just inspiration.
How far in advance should we book?
Three to six months is ideal, especially during peak conference season. My calendar fills up, so earlier outreach gives us the best chance of securing your preferred date.
