The Power of LinkedIn

Twitter is powerful. Facebook is a force to be reckoned with. Both are great sources for generating new business.

But there is one site that gets the short end of the stick when it comes to social media influence. And if you know how to use it right, you can generate tons of targeted leads for your business.

I’m talking about LinkedIn.com.

LinkedIn is the most significant social media site to use for business because it is where business-people are. Unlike Facebook that is overrun by useless novelty apps and Twitter which is limited to 140 characters, LinkedIn allows professionals to meet and network in a format that opens doors of opportunity.

Over the past couple years, I have built a network that connects me to over 16,373,345 professionals! That’s significant. I can meet just about anyone else on the site I want to with relative ease.

  1. Wow!!! Great information you just shared here Joel… I love the post and how you opened my mind about LinkedIn.com… I wish there are people who could teach me on how to use this tool… Thanks for sharing your views….

  2. I have always found Linked in far more professional than any of the other networking sites. With Linkedin you have the ability to connect with more people in one day than almost a lifetime, as of twenty years ago!

  3. I agree,
I have reconnected with many past associates, employees and clients on LinkedIn, and have made many valuable contacts. Sad thing is that many of my past associates and employees are not working.

  4. Yes I agree with this. but still I am finding it hard in linkedin to build a network but twitter seems to be asy in building a network faster. Linkedin is a social network which still unexplored by many users. So hidden potential exists for it. Am i Right?

  5. I really doubted linkedin is capable of building such strong network.. Yes it seems to be less popular and less explored by many users but I see linkedin perfect for professional buildup of a strong network. Twitter and Facebook are flooded by many so claimed “marketers” and making these networks a breeding farm for spammers. I’d better linkedin.. (I’m one of those “marketers” in facebook and twitter)

  6. Hi There,
Thanks for an interesting post. I currently use both Twitter and facebook and have been increasingly frustrated with the amount of duplicated afilliate links etc posted by those marketers who do not seem to be able to grasp the fact that you need to build relationships, people follow people rather than links.
I am a member of LinkedIn but have never taken the time to fully explore it and after reading this I will now go back and take another look.
