Welcome to Joel 2.0

Life has a way of just happening, and usually when we least expect it.

Sure, we can make plans. Sometimes those plans pan out. More often than not, things don’t turn out the way we expect.

If there is something we can be sure of, it’s that life is unpredictable and change is inevitable.

The past couple years have demonstrated my assertion to be accurate. With no help from our current President, I have recently experienced a great deal of change both personally and professionally.

As you’ve heard me say before, I got into this business in 1995. I’ve had a number of successes and failures over the years. I’ve traveled the world and have met may people. I’ve encountered honorable people online and I’ve had the displeasure of meeting my fair share of unscrupulous marketers. I’ve built sites and sold sites. I’ve made money and lost money. I’ve celebrated my successes and I’ve paid the price for my mistakes. Both extremes have been my teachers in the University of Life.

In 2010, I experienced a perfect storm in my life. It didn’t happen suddenly and I saw the signs. I was just very slow to respond to them.

A plan for transition was put into motion at that time. And while I didn’t know where I was going, I knew that I was transitioning to something new. As of this writing, I’m still not exactly sure what I am transitioning to. But I am increasingly aware that there never is a “going back” to the way things were before.

The purpose of Joel 2.0 is to explore the reinvention of myself, whatever form that might take.

Not only have I opened up my blog to guest article submissions, but I plan on using this platform to discuss the issues that are on my mind and heart.

In the past my writing has been tilted towards the online business arena. I am certain I will still have much to say in this space as I continue to use social media and develop my own opinions.

But there is a great likelihood that other parts of my journey will become more prevalent. Whether that be regarding matters of the body, soul or spirit, I will be sharing that which is of concern to me. I’ll be sharing a bit about the physical, emotional and spiritual change that has taken place, and continues to take place, in my life.

My purpose is the same as it has always been – to inspire, to teach and to entertain my readers and audience. The mission remains the same, though the message may sound different. I’ve no doubt that some will enjoy what I share and others may decide to never visit my blog again.

We can either resist change or we can embrace it. Joel 2.0 is all about embracing change and moving into the unknown with great anticipation and expectation (with just a little trepidation!)

As always, your interaction with my writing is of great importance to me. Your comments are welcome and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Feel free to use the form below and share your reaction to Joel 2.0.

Thanks for joining me on this ride…

You’ve got an audience more curious than ever before, but it has always been inspiringto read what you had to say, so a big thumbs up from sunny Denmark.

  2. Hi Joel:
I have been following you for a few years now and have learned much from you. Your creativity is genius. You are always very straight forward, down to earth and honest. I have never had the pleasure of meeting you in person but hope to some day. I am looking forward to continuing with you on your journey of Joel 2.0. I am sure it will be just as inspiring as ever and you will embrace the changes in your life like the champ that you are.

  3. Joel, the more open the conversation the more I and others will be listening. We don’t have to agree to be stimulated. As you say… if we are not open to listen to your journey we can choose to move away. And yes… life is unpredictable and change is inevitable. Let it all hang out. Cheers.

  4. Indeed, words can be misconstrued. I agree with the content of your blog on President Obama (he’s doing his level best) and your reply to a comment.

  5. sounds intriguing Joel. All around change is evident and embracing transition makes great sense to me. being open to change and learning from it will hopefully allow us to live more in the now moment. the transition will prepare us to be open to whatever shows up. Thanks for being willing to do this work.

  8. 2012 should be an exciting year for all of us. I think we will see the greatest transformation in our country during the elections. Never before has the choices for freedom been so clear. I believe we will all have to decide if we stand on God’s side or the governments. It is time for all Heroes and Heroines to rise up and make a positive difference in their families, especially those with kids and sick or dying parents. We will all need to work together and help those in need.
