WordPress Theme for Affiliate Marketers Copycat

Byjoel

Recently I was sent a link promoting a new WordPress theme designed just for affiliate marketers and people wanting to build niche sites.

Being the creator of the Socrates Theme, I had to take a look.

Sure enough. Here come the copycats.

I continue to be amazed at the utter lack of creativity in people who pass themselves off as “experts.”

Not only is the headline and a bunch of the copy on this new page lifted almost directly from our original Socrates sales page, but the features are direct copycats as well.

What are some of the brilliant features we included which you can find in the copycats?

– AdSense optimization

– Clickbank monetization

– Sales page templates

– Squeeze page templates

– Social media intergration

The list goes on.

On top of that, this marketer created a promo video that is suspiciously similar in style to a video we made for that we made.

I’m not going to call out this individual by name. The free marketplace allows for competition.

My point is that this type of blatant copying demonstrates an utter lack of creativity and originality.

So what’s the real deal?

Without a doubt, the ORIGINAL best-selling theme for building an infinite number of niche blogs quickly is The Socrates Theme.

  1. Hi Joel,
The problem with Internet & Viral Marketing is, it makes everybody into a copycat by promoting copy and paste as the most important thing to learn.
Nearly all advertisments have the following structure: new secret revealed – I failed miserebly – I tried everything – nothing worked – I was desperate – then suddenly I stumbled upon solution X and now I’m a millionaire- Follow my secret system, I have experienced it all, you don’t have to oexperience all the propblems – Follow me – an 8 year old child can do it, copy my system – and you will be happy forever.

  2. People tend to follow where the money goes. In this business world that filled with replica (Rolex, Gucci, Coach, Valentino – you name it!), it is not surprising that there are a lot of culprits who tend to capitalize what the famous and established have achieved. They are not only copycats, but also people who commit “branded infringement.” But the larger question is that “Do we really have the right to copyright our WordPress’ feature design?” (not design, but feature design) Some other people may argue what they are imitating are common features that have already been circulated in the market. Sometimes I think some marketers are no better than unscrupulous attorneys.

  6. Michelle, I am no expert but my advice would be to find someone who you can work with to help setup your blog. Maybe you know stuff you can share with them – that way you both gain something from it. You WILL get there in the end and NEVER give up. Best regards, Stuart
